So as we all know that as per section 45 Insurance act, Life insurance companies can't reject your death claim after completion of 3 years of your policy, But there are some loopholes available in this section 45 which can put you or your family in big trouble which you should know. I have a very important query!! I have a Term Ins HDFC LIFE Click 2 Protect Plus Life Option of 1 Crore. I took it 5 years back and they conducted TeleMedical Call and I shared my family history honestly tht my Late father was a HEART PATIENT. But in Personal Details form my Insurance Agent by mistake ticked NO at the field of - HAVE ANY OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HAS OR HAD OR DIED of HEART RELATED PROBLEM ? I didnt notice till yet. What has to do now ? Because their is divergence in both statements. I am paying premiums and policy is in effect. Is it a serious error ? or I can go to the HDFC Life office and get it corrected ? What should be the approach in this ? Please guide me !!

Then how come top insurance companies are showing there claim settlement ratio above 99%..that too when its published by IRDA on their official website.. Also.. Some top insurance companies are giving 1 day claim guarantee certificate along with policy and if they fail to pay within a day then such company will pay bank interest on insurance.amount..

No, the policy cannot be called into question. The company can investigate if the type of death is excluded in insurance contract but cannot reject a claim based on misrepresentation or even fraud. Rejection of claim can only be done by the court.

Hi, i had a term plan of lic, that i paid for about 8 years (25 year tenor, amulya jeevan) and then discontinued and started a new plan with another company. I read somewhere that on my passing away my family can claim pro rata sum assured of 8/25 for the lapse policy under certain section of the insurance act, is this true?
