- Which circular polarizer filter should you get for your Mavic 3?
In this video, I will be comparing the PolarPro Circular Polarizer for the DJI Mavic 3 and the NiSi True Color Polarizer for the DJI Mavic 3. These polarizers are essential tools for drone pilots, as they can help reduce reflections and increase color saturation in your aerial images and videos.
I evaluate the performance of these two polarizers paying particular attention to the level of color saturation, light transmission, and usability. At the end of the video, I give my final verdict on which polarizer is the better choice for drone pilots looking to improve the quality of their aerial images and videos.

Just to clarify, the NiSi filter is the ND4+PL, so it's supposed to be 2 stops darker than the PolarPro. One more thing... the ND ratings of the NiSi filters do not take into account the 1 stop of light lost from the PL. So, the ND/4+PL is actually 3 stops darker than no filter and could be considered ND/8.
Dude. This is the best polarization video I’ve seen. Thanks for getting the scopes out 😎
Thank you Ryan!
I do like the Nisi nds and have been using them for about 4 years. I now have NIsi swift system and love it
I've been a huge fan of the Breakthrough Photography filters for being color neutral. But they don't make filters for drones. I'm really happy with the color reproduction of the NiSi! :)
Sky is making UA-cam vids now?! 😉
I've been curious about these NiSi filters, but man... that loss of 3 stops is a really steep price to pay!
Haha, yeah... if I can't find the UA-cam video I'm looking for, I need to make it!
I should clarify, the NiSi filter I bought is their ND+PL, so it's supposed to be 3 stops darker. NiSi does also make a regular PL that's only 1 stop darker, just like the PolarPro I have. I could have done an apples-to-apple's review with both being non-ND versions, but I bought the ND4 PL version of the NiSI.
@@skymakai ah, gotcha
you made stunning job, 🖖
Thank you!
At 1:20 you are not "turning the polarization down". You are just adjusting the angle/direction of the polarization. Vertical vs horizontal vs diagonal etc. Your example of the polarization is horizontal vs vertical polarization. Not minimum vs maximum polarization. It's important to understand the physics behind it so you won't anything funny when trying to block reflections with PL-filter.
"Polarized waves are light waves in which the vibrations occur in a single plane. Plane polarized light consists of waves in which the direction of vibration is the same for all waves. "
That's correct. I was speaking on the fly (non-scripted), so I just said what I said. But, you're right about turning the CPL just changing the polarization angle.
