Yeah I love it my friends and I do at least one from kinzua to buckaloons and from tidioute to Tionesta every year but trying to get them to do kinzua to oil city
The lake on mead island was exactly for what you thought up until A few years ago there was a huge conveyor over the river that dumped rock onto the island from the concrete plant in starbrick
Jakob Rodoski yes, a rec boat is fine. There are some very small riffles. If you can fit your gear, it would be work. I have a large dry bag for my kayak this year (10” crossover). I strap it to the stern.
I am just checking out doing a kayak trip on the Allegheny and yours in the first bit of intel I have found. curious- good camping for multiple hammocks? My group prefer hammocks and from what I saw, it looked like multiple options for hammocks at your two sites
Yes, there are plenty of trees on the islands conducive to multiple kayaks. We actually passed several other paddlers with 2-3 hammocks hung. It’s a great trip, you will really enjoy it. See you outside!
Great video looks like an epic adventure! Yo what's this launch permit you're talking about, I'm getting the idea you have to spend $3 to put your kayak in the water?
Yea thats fair, n hope the money goes to more "put-ins" being made from the state. I do a lot of kayaking here in Western North Carolina And looks about the same as PA. Chk my chan for some kayaking, lot of sportbike stuff to. Ok well have great rest of the season
I made my own maps using Caltopo. Allegheny Outfitters have a more detailed map available. Unfortunately, when we were down there, they were sold out. If you want to learn about Caltopo, see ua-cam.com/video/_wnYsnee7CY/v-deo.html

What a great trip that seemed to be. That looked like it was so much fun. Thanks for sharing that.

Enjoy, it is a very beautiful paddle and has some great places to camp. I can't wait to repeat a trip on the Allegheny this year.

Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
Outside Chronicles that’s one trip that I would love Probably. I have a native ultimate 12 kayak that would handle that kind of trip perfectly

@@OutsideChronicles thanks. I’m taking some notes from your trip and doing some more research. Great video!
I like your video. Can you tell me more about your bike ride back to the Betts park? Do you have any video or map for the ride?
Thanks for watching. I rode US-62 from the Bonnie Brae launch north to Betts Park. Almost no turns, all paved roads.
Great video looks like an epic adventure! Yo what's this launch permit you're talking about, I'm getting the idea you have to spend $3 to put your kayak in the water?
The launch permit is a $12 sticker that is good for 1 year. You need it to launch and/or take out at state launches.

Note that Fuellhart island is a private property and you must get owners permission.
There are several islands that are private, most are clearly posted. We camped on public islands.
