Agree with you about the white shirts (or maybe pale blue sometimes). The simplicity of the white accentuates the necktie, which is where I like to focus most of the color, and it's more versatile. I find that striped shirts can look too busy if the pattern is too bold. Classic style looks the best! That necktie looks ace by the way. Keep up the good work.

    Hello Mr. Allison,
Thank you for using my question! I was happy to see that. I called my wife in to view the video also, she said that you look like you really love what you are doing... which is all that could be asked for. Also nice job on the World Championship of Shoe making. While my friends and co-workers are watching March Madness I was following the shoe competition. Cheers! Steve

Great video Kirby thanks for the tips on the shirt collar! You commented, and I concur, that white shirts offer maximum flexibility without sacrificing elegance, what would its equivalent in pants be, gray perhaps? Thanks for sharing your insights.

That's an excellent tie, Kirby. As someone who lives in Texas, I was wondering how you like to dress when the weather gets really hot (as in 95+ degrees F). I live in Arizona, where the weather stays over 80 most of the year and gets over 110 in summer, so any suggestions you have would be very much appreciated.

Since you live in Southern America, go wild with fabrics and patterns. Linen, fresco wool, cotton seersucker or poplin...Pestle colors in green, blue, red, or yellow...Combinations like OCBD + blazer + seersucker pants or polos in windsor collar + linen sports coat + shorts.

I haven't looked but on your one closeup with your pens in view one looked like a Mont Blanc. Have you or would you cover life long pens? Also a great accessory! Like always very thorough intriguing video.

Hi Kirby I'm 22 years old and just started my sartorial journey. As you know the budget is a bit tight, but I would love if you could help showing what are the essential stuff to start to build a wardrobe.
I love your shoe Care video and just recieved the presidential shoe shine kit and few other items. Thanks for your content.

Mr. Allison - excellent content as always. I have a quick question: would you be kind enough to do a video on how to properly press single or double pleated trousers? I prefer to care for my garments at home, and have recently acquired some rather fine pleated trousers from Ambrosi, but don’t have much experience with pressing such trousers. Seeing that yours are always so sharp, I thought this might make for an interesting topic. Cheers.

Can you share that video of how to launder your clothes at home? Also the dry cleaners you recommend are appreciated. Can you also tell me how many times could a shirt be worn between cleanings. I’m concerned I’ll clean a shirt too often.

    Hi Kirby
Excellent video as always! Love the suit on you. What is the width of the lapel? It looks fuller and seems to take up some real estate.....but boy does it look classy. Keep up the great work!

Hello Kirby. Thank you for the useful video. The topic of dress shirts is really painful for me. I am all suit and tie most of the time, but in the place where I live it is an impossible challenge for a woman to buy a dress shirt from a store. I mean, a shirt that would look good with a formal pant suit. I had to learn how to sew a dress shirt myself, and then I made a couple of them to be wearing to the office. Otherwise, I have to shop for men’s shirts of a really small size.
Just some random whining. Thank you or the incredible content. Cheers!

Hey Kirby, what kind of collar do you prefer? Spread? Semi-spread? And what kind of tie knot do you prefer? I usually use a half-windsor with a spread or semi-spread collar but would like to know your preferences and why.

You don't need a dedicated stain bar to clean the shirt collar stains. Just soak the collar in water, apply some hair shampoo, preferably a white one, then brush the collar with your old toothbrush for a bit. After that, rinse the collar and just throw the shirt in the washing machine to wash normally.

What's better - getting multiple wax shoe polishes that match the color of the shoe or getting a neutral polish that can go on everything?

Many thanks for another highly informative video mr Allison; just a quick question? How do you remove or prevent deodorant/yellow stains around the underarms? Also how do you prevent white shirts from turning dull and “less white” over time? Many thanks @kirbyallison

kirby, i have a question about treating yelow pits stains on shirts. i'm a guy who seems to sweat much more than my co-workers, so i've always used anti-perspiration sticks to curb the sweating. however, this would inevitably cause yellow stains on my shirts due to the anti-perspiration stick's chemicals. what is your advice to either partially or completely remove these stains?

Hi Kirby. I love your channel and I have been following for more than a year now. I have a couple of questions. Firstly you mentioned home laundry in this video. So does it mean that we hand wash the shirts at home ? What would be the best way to do this ? Secondly I am a big guy. Can you recommend the kind of collar for shirt tailoring as I have a short neck. And also the same for suit tailoring. I imagine high waisted trousers with braces would be better. Thanks a lot.

Hello I have a question. I have heard that it is possible to redye you clothing with special dyeing products. To what extent whould this be a good option, and what types of garments would be eligible to redye? Furthermore is there any companies that specialize in this? I have a vintage green trenchcoat that I bought used, but I'm not a big fan of green. Hence is why I'm asking. Kind regards from Norway.

    Mr. Allison,
I really enjoy your videos have gained tons of knowledge about dressing more professionally. The problem I am having is my build. I am a little more muscular than the average person so when a buy a shirt that fits my shoulders, it fits my waist like a dress. Do you have any advice for buying dress clothes for more muscular men? My shirt home care regiment looks like this. Wet collar and pre-treat with a paste of baking soda and water. For stains, replace water with hydrogen peroxide (light colored shirts only). Wash using dress shirt cycle...yes there is one on my Miele washing machine, hang to dry until just slightly damp, then press with a LauraStar semi-professional iron. Here's a link to an example iron: www.laurastar.ch/en/ironing-systems/laurastar-s-389
Sounds like a large investment in time (and money) but with practice, shirts can be well pressed in about 3 minutes. They look great, last longer, and I know they've been done correctly. Looking forward to the upcoming video.
