  • Analysis of Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) Titers of Recovered COVID-19 Patients
    mbio.asm.org/c...
    The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine
Theorized to provide protection against coronavirus disease
To determine whether any MMR IgG titers are inversely correlated with covid severity
Comparing MMR titers to recent COVID-19 severity levels.
    The MMR II group
50 subjects who would primarily have MMR antibodies from the MMR II vaccine
    Comparison group
30 subjects consisted of those who would primarily have MMR antibodies from sources other than MMR II
Including prior measles, mumps, and/or rubella illnesses
    Results in the MMR group
Significant inverse correlation (rs = −0.71, P less than 0.001)
Between mumps virus titers and COVID-19 severity
    Results in the comparison group
There were no significant correlations between mumps IgG titers and severity in the comparison group
    Results in both groups
No correlation between between severity and measles or rubella titers in either group
    Scale of the observation
Mumps titers of 134 to 300 arbitrary units (AU)/ml (n = 8), functionally immune or asymptomatic
Less than 134, (n=17) all had mild symptoms
Less than 75, (n=11) all had moderate symptoms
Less than 32, all who had been hospitalized and had required oxygen
Our results demonstrate that there is a significant inverse correlation between mumps titers from MMR II and COVID-19 severity
    Four important points
Young children are largely spared from severe disease
Second, numerous countries have COVID-19 death rates that are as low as 1% of the death rates of other countries
Many people, despite prolonged close contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive, never test positive themselves
Nearly half of people who test positive for COVID-19 are asymptomatic
    Mechanism of action
Sequence homology between both mumps and measles and rubella with SARS-CoV-2
    After two doses
    97% protected against measles
    88% against mumps
    97% against rubella
    NHS site
    www.nhs.uk/con...
Born between 1970 and 1979, as you may have only been vaccinated against measles
Born between 1980 and 1990, as you may not be protected against mumps
    Bradford Hill
    Strength of association
    Consistency
    Reproducibility
    Specificity
    Temporality
    Biological gradient, dose response
    Plausibility
    Coherence with lab findings

Yes! I was one of the first cohorts to get the MMR - born in 1975. My older sister, born 1972 - didn't get it, and did get mumps as a child. So from my age down people may have this protection. Our GP also started calling people for a booster, when the pandemic was beginning but before lockdown. I wonder if they knew this was a possibility? We had been told that a booster would never be needed, but when I asked about that they said something about how the technologies change, and the diseases evolve, so now it#s worth doing.

@SD Illuminati Grand Founder 2 However, it was touched on that folks in sub-Saharan Africa were not being slammed by COVID, postulating that because they've been exposed to so many virulent diseases and have non-vaccinated antibodies that are protecting them. Again, the study here is merely correlative and not showing causation, but should lead to further study, I'd warrant.

Fascinating session Dr Campbell. As a child of the early 50s who had measles, but never mumps or rubella, I am now really glad that I had the MMR vaccine (in Australia) in the last several years. I'm not sure which of my surviving siblings, if any, had mumps.
It would be great if some follow up studies could relate any reduction in the titres to time since vaccination.

Honestly I can't see why anyone wouldn't go out and get an MMR right now. Took a quick read of a couple related papers after watching this, then phoned up my local Walgreens drugstore. My last MMR booster was nearly 30 years ago. Walgreens had it, and it was completely covered by my insurance. They said no shortage, and the last one they'd done was weeks ago. Two hours after watching this video, booster done. Why not?! Best case, I significantly decrease my risk of adverse COVID symptoms should I catch it. Worst case, I'm more protected against measles, mumps, and rubella now then I was before. Hard to see the downside.

So,if gene sequence calibration electron micrographs do NOT show purified particles claimed to be viral.
      And "alleged" mutations NOT isolated
How can a vaccine even be produced?
      The very definitions criteria
      prepared from the causative agent
      synthetic substitute
      can NOT be met
      - Exemption claim Violates the Nuremberg Code (1948) and the Declaration of Geneva (Physician’s oath) that are adopted in the Australian Medical Association (AMA) Code of Ethics. It also violates the International Covenant on Economic and Cultural and Social Rights (ICECSR)
      - Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ,states that “No one shall be
subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. In particular, no
one shall be subjected without his free consent to medical or scientific experimentation.”
The International Covenant on Economic and Cultural and Social Rights (ICECSR) protects the
individual’s right to autonomy over their own body (bodily integrity) as well as the community’s right
      to non-discriminatory social welfare policies.
      - Article 17 of this covenant is the Right to Privacy that includes ‘the right to personal autonomy and
physical and psychological integrity over one’s own body’ (AG APb p58)
      - The implementation of mandatory and coercive vaccination into social welfare policies also requires
that all conflicts of interest in the development of the vaccination program be presented to the
      public
The use of financial incentives and employment to encourage the uptake of vaccines effectively
removes free and informed consent to vaccination because people’s livelihoods are affected by this
      decision.
      We The People Declare
Providing a full coverage compensation program for those damaged or affected by vaccine
inoculation. (Not a no-fault compensation scheme, as this puts the responsibility on the tax
      payer to pay.)
According to the Oxford Dictionary the definition of a "vaccine" is.... "A substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease".......The SO-CALLED vaccine the government is pushing IS NOT A VACCINE AT ALL. It is a "GENETIC MODIFIER" that goes directly to the victims genome and changes the DNA...forever. Not only that but the changes to the victims DNA are PATENTABLE and owned by the patent holder, just like genetically modified tomatoes or sheep or cattle....Do you get it? IT'S "GENETIC ENGINEEING" or EUGENICS
People Of Earth Have The Human Right To:
      - "Freedom Of Movement"
      Universal Declaration of Human Rights
      Article 13.

I read an article months ago about this very topic. I believe it was referenced in The Lancet among other sources. (Search MMR for COVID and you will find multiple articles) The authors noted the very low severity rates on the US Aircraft Carrier that was quarantined in Guam. One death, and only seven hospitalizations out of nearly 900 positive cases. Among deploying military populations, forced vaccinations are common and ones that are not commonly given to civilian populations are often found as well. The authors supposed that the Rubella component was the factor, but the military component could be the most useful today. All active service members should have accurate shot records and easily ascertained COVID status. Nice large sample size of literally millions just in the NATO countries. I think a study could be completed in weeks perhaps?

Thanks for everything your doing Dr John. I remember getting the mumps in 1981 aged 7 and it was touch and go whether i got to go on family summer holiday to Largs. It's an interesting hypothesis that mmr helps and intuitively makes sense why youngsters get milder symptoms.

Shingles is caused by the varicella (chickenpox) virus left over in the body from a prior infection and it's unrelated to measles.
Interestingly, repeated exposures to the varicella virus over the course of one's life is protective against shingles.
Growing up in an Eastern European country in the early 90s, I only got the measles vaccine and have gone all the other childhood illnesses, such as mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

I'm not a doctor, but this was very interesting to me. I especially liked the possible explanation of why the MMR vaccine might be more protective than getting mumps, and the part about gauging how interesting a correlation is, and how it may all tie together with real world observations. I hope when COVID 19 is a distant memory, Dr John will still make videos like this one about research. Granted, I am the kind of oddball that will kill time at the library reading journals for fun, but with 131K views and 2.4K comments as now, I'm probably not all that odd. I suspect there are quite a few people who wish they had been taught about this kind of analysis in school.

@@GlobalAdventurer If you listen to the full video, you'll find this phenomenon is associated with people who have had the MMR vaccine and that it is the Mumps component of the vaccine that seems most closely associated to the phenomenon. If you had the 3 individual illnesses, you won't get this effect, nor will you if you had Mumps. So, if you want to avoid severe COVIDS and never have had the MMR vaccine, it might be time to consider doing so, because it will likely be 3 or 4 months before you get your turn at a real COVID-19 vaccine. Adults are usually given 1 shot, but if you are elderly a second shot may help boost your immune system even better. Will need to wait 2 weeks after you last MMR shot before it will become effective. But keep up your guard. You can still get infected and pass it on to other people. So keep wearing your mask. If you do catch it, then your illness should be less severe, maybe even asymptomatic if you are lucky.

@@randmorf Actually, I have no plans on getting any vaccinations, including any for covid. I got the flu vaccine once in my entire life and within two weeks I was out for the count. Had a severe case of the flu. I just slept basically the entire time. I'll wear my respirator and double surgical masks and keep doing what I'm doing. I still travel every other week and just take precautions. Also, I don't believe the general public will be seeing a vaccine anytime until the earliest 2022. And to get a booster will be even longer. They don't even have the manpower to administer vaccinations. It took years and years to get people vaccinated from polio and that was only one shot. It's nice that Dr Campbell is optimistic, but I don't see anything happening until 2022. It's been a year already since the coronavirus was discovered and basically nothing has happened but epic spreading across the world with no single message of what to do. And with all these "different" vaccines being developed that'll be a problem in itself since some are completely different than the rest. I'll personally protect myself and keep on keeping on.

@Jennys de Vries Back in February after taking three cruises over the winter, I was leaving Dubai to go on a 16 hour flight to LAX. I went on Amazon and purchased a box of N95 respirators. I wore it the entire flight with the exception of a few minutes to scarf down a meal and drink some water. I was the ONLY person on that flight with any type of face covering.
Then when I arrived in LAX I went to Mexico City. There I ordered some P100s off Amazon and a variety of cartridges and filters.
I flew several times since February and I've buses the P100 half-face mask or the N95s.
In the last +months all the airlines banned respirators or any mask containing a valve. So, I use two surgical masks over my N95 and keep my P100s for backup. Like if the plane gets stuck on the runway and the HVAC system with HEPA filter a aren't working. I would definitely out it on.
I also flew back to the US where I have a lot of prepped and bug-out emergency equipment stored. I took all my hazmat and chemical suits, full covered faceshields, N100s, goggles and other stuff and brought them to Mexico where I'm located.
The N95s and N100s look similar but one is more thicker and has a vinyl rim that kind of suctions to the face.
The P100s are half-face models from 3M with gas cartridges. Also have the chemical filters. Website below:
      www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/All-3M-Products/Personal-Protective-Equipment/Reusable-Respirators/Half-Facepiece-Respirators/3M-Half-Facepiece-Reusable-Respirators-7000-Series/?N=5002385+8711017+8711405+8720539+8720550+8720785+8726640+3294857497&rt=r3
If you wear any of these you need to cover the exhaust valves before getting on a flight.
Also, I wouldn't think about getting on a 16 hour flight now regardless of wearing a respirator. That's too long to be inside a plane with or without HEPA filters. 6 hours is the max for me with stopovers.
If you wear a respirator (any) and don't take it off on a flight, you shouldn't have any issues at all. Just be mindful of how long the flight is. Also, same thing applies for any indoor venue.
I'm actually typing this from a restaurant where I'm outdoors. I'm finish eating now and my mask is back on. And sometimes I just wear a surgical mask if I'm outside walking where hardly anyone is located. But, I never go inside unless I'm completely geared up with gloves, goggles and respirator.

@Jennys de Vries Just want to add that YES I've stayed safe on buses too. I've been on buses in Los Angeles, Tucson, Cancun and Mexixo City so far. Going to fly to Chiapas tomorrow and will be on buses. When I take Ubers I always roll down my window if it's not raining.
All I have to say, if all you have are regular masks, double and triple them up. The mask study that came out months ago rated N95 at the top and next was cotton 3 ply masks. Just wear at least two masks. One is not enough.

Yes! I had a very strong suspicion about this. I wrote about it here I think several months ago. Since about last June I started thinking something else was at play on the field producing Covid 19's Jekyll and Hyde behavior. I eventually thought it was a childhood vaccine. I had no idea which vaccine but I thought it was one given to children that elders hadn't had and one more adults in Africa had recently than elsewhere. I don't think I've ever had the MMR vaccine. I'm 62 and have had measles and mumps naturally. I think we did get a Rubella vaccine when I was a kid. Pretty sure most older than I here in Canada had the same. It may well be the multivaccine or exposure to many pathogens does something we don't yet understand to the immune system, prepares it to fight viruses in a more generalized way.
I agree, amazingly interesting, and heartening. We have a safe tested tool on the shelf that can protect elders with! This is tremendously exciting news. Do you think we should start applying this right now, start giving elders the MMR vaccine?
