I can feel what you say. I say this because I don't understand classical at all but I listen to only classical. After having listened to his Nayaki Kanada, I cried so much. I wish that that's what I want to listen to while taking my last breath.
Finally, got the elusive lyrics of the bandish in madhyalaya in jhaptal: साधना करते रहो गुनी गन्धर्व किते नाद, किते भेद, किते अलन्कार किति मुरान* किति दुरान* किते ग्राम किते तान इनको विस्तार कर लीजेये विचार से (*I got this from the Music of the Murans page on FB in Roman and am therefore assuming that that they mean मुड़ान and दौरान) saadhanaa karate raho gunee gandharva kite naada, kite bheda, kite alankaara kiti murana kiti durana kite grama kite taana inako vistaara kara leejeye vichaara se The last few minutes of the drut bandish in teentaal is of course the well-known one: जा जा रे अपने मंदिरवा सुन पावेगी सास ननंदिया । सुनो हो सदारंग तुमको चाहत है तुम हमसे क्या छलन किया ॥
Thank you so much for sharing the lyrics. It is not the easiest to even guess the lyrics from Panditji's singing. In this specific rendition, the singing it comes so close to a wordless hum that one is reminded of PuLa Deshpande's observation that when Mansurji sang it felt like there are three tanpuras on stage. All that said, he brings out the complete depth, serenity and pathos of the raga like few others could.
Exquisite rendition! One just oscillates between the swaras & rasa of Bhimpalasi. 😇 Based on the year & accompanists, I guess it’s safe to assume that this was part of the mehfils put together by Pu. La. Deshpande in Pune. It’s wonderful to hear a vilambit laya exploration before it proceeds onwards & upwards. Even after an hour of listening, the drut seemed too short for satisfaction! 😊
the best ever bhimplas ive listened to thus far. sheer bliss
His meend can choke someone's life. This incredible thing happened to me after listening Nayaki Kanada and Todi. Pranam!!!

Yep - rare indian classical music programs has a 10 hour recording of mansur with pu la as one of the announcers and it includes this same recording
This is simply AWRESOME.
