Walton Goggins and Ray McKinnon. What a perfect pairing of actors!
Ray McKinnon is legitimately a genius.

If you love the sheer artistry of film, you will do well to watch every single piece of work with which Ray McKinnon has been associated. My only complaint is that we don't see him enough. And he is so versatile; watch his comedic turn in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and then his frightening turn in the "The Book of Esther" episode of SVU. I'd love to see him headline a major motion picture.

The saddest thing about this movie is when I ask "Hey so and so, have you ever seen The Accountant?" and they respond with, "oh the one with Ben Affleck?" :(

I work at a CPA firm. I got my coworkers into this movie. They love it!
I always recommend it by saying, “You need to watch […] NOT the one with Ben Affleck! The one with Boyd Crowder and the bonafide suitor from Oh Brother Where Art Thou.”

I had to add the year to get this gem. I didnt see it but Im into videography and film.. google stated this is one of the best short films in Murica.. so here I am.

Argh, how do the Oscars mean anything? At the 12th Oscars ceremony, 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' (1939) lost to 'Gone With the Wind' (1939) in the 'Best Picture' category. Anyway more generally, it is actors, producers, directors... giving awards to other actors... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I once went through several decades of Best Picture winners and nominees and knew of movies that had had a far deeper impact on me that had not even been nominated.
Anyway, I make up my own mind.
The Oscars have never meant anything but in this case a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Hilarious movie. My wife is an accountant. We've memorized most of the lines and we regularly quote them. Favorites: "Yer guessin' at half this shit!" "Well, there's always 4.5% margin of error, plus or minus." "I can't farm without my legs!" :D
The truly sad thing about this movie is what the accountant said about big farming is dead on the nail head truth...

I know these folks went to a lot of trouble and expense to create and develop this; truly a love of the art to do so. This is a wonderfully made and acted film. Hats off to these gents. BTW, to tack on to the fellow below, "Randy and the Mob" and "Chrystal" are a couple of his gems too. Hats off to Walton Goggins and a special nod to Eddie King (David) of whom we do not get to see enough in film acting.

I need to eat. That is a physiological reality. My body needs sustenance. I do not imagine it is different for others. A point of contrast. I do not need bankers to issue/refuse loans. Heck, unlike food, I could make do without having a place to accept a deposit. I would like to see a farmer take away the home, the livelihood, the lifestyle of bank executive. Nay... I would like to see *that* as the norm. Likes aside, that is a world which makes far more sense than the one shown here... the one we were born into.

lolz... I agree with you, but I still couldn't help but laugh when he was taking that long piss in the middle. Lol. Anyway it is an important story and one that needs wayyyyy more attention than it is given in the world.
