I love this version with all of them home free is so awesome as is Chris
Two years later, and here I am bringing this masterpiece back to attention! I still miss Chris's arrangements. He really understands what to do with the diverse voices and talents of Home Free. With another Christmas season on the horizon, I hope more patrons and more reactors will remember this one. Chris's "What Child Is This" and Adam's "Do You Hear What I Hear" are two pieces that show what those Rupps can do! Timeless mastery! PS: I enjoyed your London/Home Free experience videos. So happy you got to see them!
This is one of the best sounds with all of them doing their thing. We didn't hear Chris doing much lead singing when he was still with the group, he has a beautiful voice.
I love the harmony between chris and chance. Sooo tight
Yessss
You know I LOVE and ADORE Home Free, but your reactions always make me even happier! You know music, you love music, you understand great talent, music and harmonies and all that goes into it. I'm assuming Chris arranged this. He is a master arranger and did a lot of Home Free's songs himself. But I'm not sure, will have to check it out. Super gorgeous!! Thanks so much!! Keep being you and keep them coming. Take care.
Just had to listen to this again. Wish I could like it 1,000 times. It’s stunning. Love your dissection of it.
Thank you! Ibecame a Home Fry at the beginning of this year after listening to Chris breakdown Angels We Have Heard On High. This is favorite music video of all time! I love listen to this, Chris’ Christmas record, and all Home Free Christmas music year round. My favorite vocal cover in the world is Home Free: Do You Hear What I Hear.
So many great songs I probably wouldn't have listened to ( like this one), if they weren't in your reactions !
They sound so full with the six of them , the high and low notes , the harmonies , just loved it !
This is a great piece of a capella goodness!!! I love this rendition of the song, this collab is just fantastic!!! ❤ Thanks for reacting to this one!!!
Their voices sound like a gorgeous pipe organ.
Wowza!!!! The harmonies, are sooo deep and beautiful. I love your reactions as always.
Fantastic arrangement with flawless execution. I could listen to them do bell tones all day. There's a fun behind the scenes for this also on Chris' channel.
Chris needs to return to Home Free...the 6 voices are MAGNIFICENT
Oh, my GOODNESS!!! ❤️ 🤗 THAT would be AMAZING!!! Not sure my heart could take that much talent, but I'm willing to risk it, lol! Merry Christmas, and prayers to you and your family! 🙏🏻 ❤️
I agree Kevin
@@QofyReacts yeah but the biggest problem is the $$$ would have to be split 6 ways instead of 5...that loss of revenue for each guy would be difficult, especially after this year....
Your reactions remind us how we react at concerts! Awesome appreciation
Wow Chris coming back would make themso strong wow.
THIS SONG. The “bell” bell tones. The “plucked string” bell tones. Tim trying to kill everybody with that bass. The contrast in the handoff between his bass and Austin coming in with that effortless high tenor. Chris and Chance’s duet. THOSE RICH HARMONIES COMING FOR MY SOUL. I had to have a sit down after seeing this video the first time.
Late to this but I have to say this is a PERFECT rendition of this song,
OH!!! I REALLY ENJOYED HEARING CHRIS AGAIN! IT REMINDS ME OF THE ORIGINAL GROUP! I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THEM FOR 10 YEARS OR LONGER. TIM, YOU HAVE REALLY SHOWED OUT!! THIS SONG WAS AWESOME! WE NEED MORE SONGS THAT SHOW TIM'S VOCAL RANGE AND FANTASTIC A CAPELLO ABILILTY. I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH CHRIS! YOUR REACTION WAS AWESOME!
The richness and full, fudge-like sound shouldn’t be a surprise by now, but it is always so welcome. Such talent!
Agreed man
Awesome isn't it?! Am sure Chris probably arranged this. He is an extraordinarily talented arranger of music. So special the six of them sang together!
I love the BTS for this also... fun and I love the song they impromptu take off on is GREAT!! LOL Worth the look! Thanks!
Qofy, you're one of our favorite "reactors"! 😁 You hear EVERYTHING, and it's just beautiful to see your genuine excitement when you listen to great musicians! 🤗 Hubby and I adore you, but, dang it, I lost a bet because of you... Hubby is a musician so he listens like you...to the "music". I listen to lyrics, and have said many times that lyrics come first, then music, because the music is the expression of the lyrics! He'll listen to a song and just like you, he hears everything, but has to go back to hear the lyrics! I love both of y'all! 😉 Merry Christmas to y'all in the UK, from Georgia, USA!!! ❤️
Rebecca you’re the best! I appreciate both of you and yes Music before lyrics haha
This song is great! It has such an unusual and great arrangement. Austin must be thinking "You want me to hit that note? Ok." Thank you for our reaction as usual. Just for fun you should check out Chris Rupp and his sister Tristan singing A Whole New World....it's such a sweet sibling collaboration and great. I appreciate your break down of the song. Happy New Year to you from across the pond.
So smooth and full. I don't think it could be done any better.
I'm almost surprised that bass didn't collapse that tunnel!
I love your reactions because you bring out things I wouldn’t otherwise notice!!!
this was awesome!! at the end, the harmonies were so tight that they almost sounded like an organ!! as for adam, i think he's singing the tenor that is below rob in this one
Agreed bro so right
❤❤❤
This is so beautiful
It is Marla merry Christmas
I actually bought the sheet music for this song last year and can tell you that Adam Rupp sings third tenor in this piece with Rob as second tenor and Chris as the first barione.
From the sheet music I've seen, Adam rupp sings third tenor just under rob.
I hope this helps some
THats awesome Skittles
Who else thinks there should be at least six members of Home Free? Lol good to see Chris back with the guys...
Great reaction 😊
Ohhh I was waiting for thiis
Awesome 🤩🎶
A real piece of perfection, right! The harmonies (the pregnant ones yeah 🤪) are so fantastic. This song has got it all, the bass, the high tenor, the baritones, the richness, the beauty and well everything it needs. And you felt it, the magic! Thank you and good night 🙌
Thank you Helena
I love seeing them sing all together, it's so beautiful!
yes check out Chris O Come all ye faithful.
I will have a look
You need to see the making of this video at Patreon/ Chris Rupp. Filmed in a street cave where kids used to dance because it wasn’t permitted! Part way through they start singing Footloose! Worth watching! First time Chris sings with Adam Chance after he replaced Chris! Nice reaction!!
Love this one! Chris did a phenomenal job with the arrangement! So much stuff going on, but they all did their part to make it a crazy, amazing song!! Loved the minor key, and all of those layers and everything else going on in this song!! Qofy, I thought your eyes were going to pop out of their sockets when Tim hit that first subharmonic note! ☺️ It was way down in the depths of the earth, though! I’m so glad your reacted to this one!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching your excitement and enthusiasm!! I share your emotions m! ☺️ Home Free always checks all of the boxes with their music, and being that this was Chris’ project, it just really makes me appreciate his talent even more!!
Ahaha my eyes were just fine Beth!!
I couldn’t agree more
Chance's former group Street Corner Symphony (when he was still in it) puts a different spin on this song. He was their bass before Home Free grabbed him
This is another that still gives me chills! I love those bell tones they used here !! Awesome. Thanks! ^_^
It’s so awesome
Quite possibly, the best ever from Home Free. Seems like I say/think that a lot LOL ... but seriously. Amazing.
I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THAT TIM'S HAIR (LIKE SAMSON'S) WAS HIS STRENGTH. LET THAT HAIR GROW MAN, AND GET A BOTTLE OF COLOR. YOU ARE MY FAVORITE, SO I CAN SAY THIS. IF YOU LIKE THIS SONG, THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT "WE 3 KINGS" WITH TIM FAUST AND THE GROUP THE HOUND. AND. THE FOX. IT IS FANTASTIC AND BEAUTIFUL AND MIRACULOUS!
We three kings is already done Shelia
This song is really beautifully interpreted ❤ . The last notes is reminiscent of a church organ. You seem surprised by the video ! You know that these guys have a huge talent ! They're the best !!👍👏
They’re amazing
It’s sad that this video doesn’t get more recognition :/
It’s amazing
Happy to see again. It was good to see Chris with his former group mates. He even commented that all six of them were performing together. Great reaction. Can you react to Full of Cheer by Home Free.
Hey Hazel Full of cheer is done
Hi QoFy! I loved your reaction. You always point out such interesting aspects of the musical arrangement. There’s so much going on here. When Austin comes in at the end his voice is so “bright” in comparison to Tim’s deep bass...it makes the music a celebration.
I appreciate you Susan
Listening to this group, and I understand why humans invented church organs.
The voice came first and the inspiration for organs. Not the other way around.
I love your reaction Qofy and I love this song. Yes, hard to hear Rob with Tim’s deep, deep notes. I do love their version. Yes, kudos to Chris for the arrangement. It’s so beautiful and everyone was great but Tim’s low notes dominated. Loved the shadows on the wall at the end. Just so powerful. Thanks for the reaction. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Tim sounds like one of the huge pipe organ, bass of course.
Tim actually sounds like a church organ in the end!! Love that toss from Tim's low to Austin's high! The bell tones are awesome, esp with Austin on top at( 2:00), and Chris' lead is haunting! Love this arrangement and wish it was played more. It's cool all 6 are together. So thx for doing it!! Another fun reaction!!
Agreed man that part was brilliant
Hey QoFy. I love absolutely love when you use your hands together express how the notes and everything is going. At one point, it looked like an accordion you were playing Cause the guys were singing that way. Always great reaction.
Haha thank you Julie
Please check out home free joy to the world live show 🔥
😊🤩
hey um I'm not good enough to where I can do B5 and B0 in the same video so I'm doing a two part video with B5 in one and B0 in the other.
Love the chart and loved the reaction! The video was shot at the Wabasha Street Caves in Saint Paul. They are actual caves that have served as hideouts and storage for bootleggers and criminals during Saint Paul's checkered past. (So it serving as an actual bar could be considered a logical extension of the past, right?) ** TRUE STORY ALERT ** The Caves hired my big band once to do a swing dancing event. Swing dancing wasn't my band's strong suit but they insisted so we agreed. My lead trumpet player arrived first and started warming up in a side room/cave. The manager came up to him and said he'd have to keep it down since he was playing too loud for the main room by himself. Apparently all blood left the manager's face when my lead guy told him there were 17 more musicians (5 trumpets, 5 trombones, 5 saxes, piano, bass, and drums) and a PA coming. We got through the night (lots of softer flute/clarinet/woodwind doublings, cup and bucket mutes on the brass, etc.) somehow. While the room was far from ideal for the Stan Bann Big Band it was perfect for Chris and Home Free! Chris is an amazing arranger and vocal talent. Always proud to count him as a fellow Minnesotan!
Thanks for the back story Stan
I love this one! Chris is easily overlooked when Tim and Austin steal the attention, but Chris has a beautiful voice which is perfect for this lead. My favorite part is when Tim takes us to the Misty Mountains. Everyone really shines in this arrangement. Thanks for this reaction! I knew you'd love it as much I did.
So true Rose
They can't do anything bad can they? Hope you had a Happy Holiday.
They can’t haha
😊🎶🔥
Hi Qofy - thanks for another HF vid. I sincerely hope you will react to HF's version of Auld Lang Syne between now and the New Year. I promise you will get your fix of superb harmonies.
Hi Vinnie that’s already done
You really, really love bell tones don't you!
Really do!
love you bro, nice reaction!
Much love brother
