Hercule Poirot would be totally at home on your curved white patio with the round white railings. Very Modernist but crozier than Bauhaus. Love it!
My condo building was a hotel that opened in 1924. When I gutted my kitchen for renovation, I found the drain in the floor under the door that was used for ice and milk deliveries. The door is sealed off but the original ice box is long gone. A couple of neighbors still have the original built in ironing boards and I picture Jeeves and Wooster ironing their news papers. He-he. Great fun using a little imagination. 😄
Safe travels and big fun on your excursion. ❤

I know you, quite rightly, guard your privacy, but would love to hear a video about your youth what lead you to the European courts? Do you have a language major or law background, did you leave Scotland on your own and your fond memories etc. Seems lived quite an exciting, and radical life for a female born in the 60/70s.

Have a fantastic time at the music festival. Thank you for the tour of your garden. This year I have divided my garden into areas to work in. I drew a plan of the garden and numbered the areas 1 to 5. I was careful to not give myself too larger zones if the corresponding numbered zone in the house is needing more work. Cutting the grass and dead heading flowers is my garden blessing time.

I told DH about a weed♨️ burner. We had not heard of one. Sounds so much better than using a liquid weed killer..never a fan of that stuff!
What a LOVELY tour of your outdoor🏡 space!! It is just as unique as your indoor space! I love the round deck and, well, just everything😊😊 Our Sarah Bernhardt Peony was in bloom for a whole 3-5 days before the rain did it's toll on it, but I did manage to cut a bloom before it lost its' petals:) 🏵
That is a LOT🎨 of painting; you inspire me to get moving on finishing! the kitchen cabinets, baseboards, & quarter round trim.( I am a slow painter!)
Safe 🚈travels to you, and I know you will have 🎶🎸🥁fun.

Love to see your plants - the leaves of your "Queen" bush look very similar to the Philadelphus (Mock Orange) family (possible) and we call Hortensia - Hydrangea. Not sure what the base of the walls are called, possibly just "footings" or "Gravel Boards" like what you can put at the bottom of wooden fences so the panel doesn't sit on damp soil. I know we have a couple or so of harder engineering bricks at the bottom before the regular house bricks. Have a fantastic weekend - I was a David Cassidy (managed to see him at Sheffield when he did a come-back tour in the 80's), David Essex (seen him a number of times) and Queen (never saw live) fan from the 1970's - had pictures stuck up all over my bedroom walls which were purple - very popular colour in the 70's lol!! We are still mulching the front area. A big job, actually, but we do a bit a day. We are also in the process of painting the garage interior. Enjoy your music trip! We do not have any large trees near us, for a fire barrier must be maintained, but we do have some specimen unusual evergreens planted. Thank you for showing your garden. Elder berries, plums, and cherries grow well here.

Hi Diane, So glad to hear of your plans. It reminds me of when I was 19 years old and I drove my mom's car from New Jersey to Lenox, Massachusetts to spend a weekend at the Tanglewood music festival (the summer home of the Boston Symphony) all by myself as I knew no one who would want to go to hear Vladimir Askenazy play Beethoven's Emperor Piano Concerto but me!!! I stayed in a lovely old home and paid $5 a night. I sat on the grass and soaked in the beautiful music not realizing that four years later I would go to college and major in Music. I look back and think of how courageous I was and I am proud of myself. You should be too! You have had different successful "careers" in your life and now you cheer on folks from all over the world. Have a great time at the concert and ENJOY!!! Love ya! Mar P.S. I'm also grateful that I have that memory of a perfect weekend. The same to you!

And I recognize not knowing all the words in my mothertongue (german) about all the babystuff, because I became a mother in the Netherlands and know the Dutch words better. When I speak to my DS18 (always in german) he always answers in dutch. Very frustrating... But with the german family he speaks german because they don’t speak dutch. (when he was younger he spoke german to me when we were on the phone but dutch in person) 😁 Do you speak english or danish with your kids/your DH?

I speak English with the kids (and they reply in English), hubby speaks Danish to them (and they reply in Danish). So whenever we are all together, it's like ping pong! LOL!

@@DianeinDenmark 😂😂 I recognize that! I speak to my DH german, because when we met I didn't speak dutch and he spoke german with me. Since he knows I speak dutch, he speaks dutch to me, but I still speak german to him. So when we out all together the "men" speak dutch and I speak german (exept when we are talking with other people, then I speak dutch, too). I think it's easier to speak in your mothertongue to say it the way you feel. When I speak dutch it's like I don't say it in a "emotional" way (if you know what I mean). And I speak dutch very well (with a little german accent). In the beginning I was afraid to speak dutch because of my accent, so I think this is why I still feel "more free" when I speak german, even if I live here for 20 years now. 🙄

Hi Sue! I don't know if you heard me saying it in the video but the tree surgeon was here the other day, working on our two apple trees. Hubby and the kids are dealing with the branches which were removed...will take a few days 😃
