Thanks for letting me know about the new shade, can't wait to try it! If any fellow normal/dry skin people are unsure about buying this, I can tell you what works best for me that leaves it looking pretty flawless all day. I use the shade alabaster and I've tried it with different moisturizers and primers and I didn't love it. So now I use an exfoliating scrub the night before, next day I use a creamy hydrating face wash, then I apply jojoba oil all over my face (learned this tip from Wayne Goss) let the oil sit for 3 to 5 minutes, then I soak up all excess oil with a tissue. This stick will glide on like butter and its easy to spread and stipple with a dense brush. I set my whole face with finishing powder. It's never broken down on me this way and I end up with a slightly glowy satin finish that lasts til I wash it off!
Arna Alayne Thank you, Arna!😊I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm a new subbie from Houston, TX. I love all the info you give, the way you film in studio and natural lighting is awesome, the close ups, wear tests, and the swatches are so helpful to me! I'm also going to get diffused light because of you!
Wow what are the odds that I searched for a review of the Hourglass foundation only to realize one of my favorite youtubers posted one today! Love you! Thanks for being so thorough with your reviews
So happy you did this review. I have the Blanc and alabaster and was really struggling to find out how to use it properly with primers and brushes etc, can’t wait to give it another try. Your reviews are always so helpful.
I got the shade porcelain because it's neutral, but it's too dark for me. I wear Swan in the Born This Way foundation, and it is spot on. Would Cream be comparable to Swan? I'm neutral-slightly cool undertone.
I've been so curious about this shade but none of our stores have gotten the new colors or they haven't added them to the displays though I need a cool yellow/olive and I didn't know this has Talc so thank you for mentioning!! I also love your bag that was behind your right shoulder in the beginning :) This color really does look perfect on you!
I have seen tons of your videos and this is such an amazingly beautiful & classic look for you. Your skin, the blush & eyes all look so fabulous and timeless. I like the rosier blushes on you as they are the perfect pop of color. This look with a tea rose pink top would look SO divine.🌷
Glad you’re enjoying the extra uploads! This week & next will only have 3 a week as I’m travelling but then hopefully I can go back to doing more than that :)
Your brows look gorgeous in this video!! I'm glad to see that they've created another shade, I actually avoided purchasing blanc because it was so pale. I may pick it up whenever I run out of my foundation, stick foundations are great for a busy life. 😊
I love using the Dip Brow for creating realistic fake freckles. Oh! I also finally found some great other foundations for me (Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation in y205 for everyday looks, Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation in milkshake for glam) thanks to all of your reviews, which are super helpful in searching for pale products btw. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew of any more for normal-oily skin? I'm definitely lighter than the Fit Me matte foundation in 102, but darker than the Lock It foundation. My undertone is mostly neutral, but with a just barely warm side. I love your channel, thank you so much for all your help in finding products for my difficult skin. 😅❤❤
Probably a little out of my depth with that one, but the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is great, affordable, and the new shade 5 Ivory is pretty pale for a drugstore option! As for foundation, perhaps the Rimmel Match Perfection would be worth checking out x
blanc is a great match for me in the winter and if i wanna go full snow white, i could just never get it to not break apart on my skin. Now i have to try it with a silicone primer! (I was using it with a water based australis one bc my skin is pretty dry lol)
I LOVED your SEAMLESS cut of John Mclean, made me LOL ;) Blanc is the shade I use; & it's workable, but truthfully a bit too dark & too pink for me when I'm at my palest. I'm glad that they expanded their range, but like you, I think it would be fantastic if they would make a more neutral pale shade. P.S.- It feels slightly sacrilegious, but I watched this before the latest 15 D.o.F ;)
A Noob Life with Liberty The word "SEAMLESS(NESS)" has become a bit of a catch-word for John Mclean, because it's a word he uses so frequently as a descriptor in his filums ;) Arna cut his picture in as she read the full name of the product, which includes the word "seamless".
Hi Arna! Have you tried the new Cover FX Power Play Foundation? I’m torn between trying it vs. Kat Von D lock it. We have similar skin tones so I trust your opinions on color/performance (:
You read my mind. I was looking at this online an hour ago. I still can't decide. I have a question and hope you don't mind me asking in this video rather than the Drunk Elephant one. If you use quality products like the DE ones, should you also try to not use things with silicone so they won't affect your skin, or does having a solid base of skincare protect your skin from things like silicone in makeup products?
Yes, technically, for best results, I should avoid the suspicious 6 in Makeup too. However, there are hardly ANY products that actually fit those requirements and my channel would be redundant. I’m curious to try a month using only silicone/fragrance free products just to see though!
This product looks beautiful on you! I would like to try it, it the amount of product for the price puts me off. What are you wearing on your eyes in this video? It is beautiful!
Arna you saved my Hourglass Foundation!!! I have Blanc and it's a decent match but there is just something missing. First ... I found it can be hard to blend out. Only using a dot here or there my beauty blender doesn't make it have the seamless full coverage I want. Neither did using my regular brush. I started adding in other foundations trying to give it a boost. I just got the hourglass veil mineral primer so that should help. I will also try the very dense kabuki brush (your skin looks perfect with the Blanc and Cream). Thank you for your amazing reviews!!
I noticed the Sephora site/app mentioned some new shades! I just wasn't sure where Cream fell on the spectrum, so it's nice to have a review and swatch of it 😊
yay finally a color where we both match. it's a hair too light for me but I absolutely love it. alabaster was too yellow. im so excited to try this tomorrow with the hourglass primer
I may try this one! I tried a stick foundation once about ten years ago when they were first getting popular. (I’m old!) It felt like I was rubbing butter on my face! It did not feel great. And it broke down fast, and it just wasn’t very nice. It looks like they’ve come a long way though. Great review!
I totally agree, I was swatching foundations in Sephora and was very impressed how perfect Cream matched me, I feel like there are actually quite a few foundation lines that have a nearly white shade and then a shade that’s just a little too dark, like too faced born this way has the shade cloud which looks ghostly on me but the next shades snow and swan? I think, they’re just too dark and don’t match my neck
Thank you!! I’m currently in the middle of doing my lip products :) I’ve done Best Red Lipsticks for Pale Skin back in January I think, and Best Nudes is coming soon!!
Very beautiful on you, but you also have a gorgeous base for it! 😊 I don’t know if I’d ever buy (or have a need) this foundation, but I do think I’d like it on my dry skin.
I love your reviews Arna, thank you! The shade porcelain is the closest shade match of any foundation I've ever found so I was super excited to find it, but I'm pretty sure it breaks me out so I rarely use it. It's good to have in the drawer, but not great for everyday. P.S. I'm obsessed with the Ambient Lighting Powders after watching you!!
It's not like I can get this foundation in my country but I'd love to... it seems to hold up pretty well on you and we have thesame skin type. I have no idea how I managed to miss until now how beautiful your brows look up close! 😍
Such a helpful review. Every time I see/read anything about this I want to give it a go. I’ve never had much luck w/stick foundations except for Clinique’s “Chubby in the Nude” foundation stick, as I appreciate the sheerness. As for this, I think I’ll have to pass. I’m fair/neutral and usually opt for very lightweight foundations. Plus the price to amount ratio is a definite negative. I don’t mind a lot paying for products that really suit me, and I’m afraid this wouldn’t. It looks beautiful on you though. Surprise, surprise. lol;) Have a lovely day!
I just got this myself in Cream I'm still working out the best way to apply it on my skin with all the scaring and the freak undereye I guess I can call them dark circles I'm having some issues with application I don't have a dense brush like that haven't been able to find a good one that's cruelty free that dosen't cost a arm and a leg.
Seamlessness ! AH I LOVE JOHN Hehe! So glad for this review, my oily skin has really leveled out to more of a normal (ish)skin type with a few dry spots from my blemish treatments, So I'm thinking I might give this a try! as always thank you Arna!!!
I'm glad you reviewed this. I checked out porcelain which had an okay undertone but was far too dark. But alabaster & blanc were too pink. Ah well. My wallet will thank me for not being covered here. P.s. Loved John Maclean popping up for seamless. Lol
Ty for saying it--spf in makeup is janky. I also prefer to apply it myself. I can pick 35 or 50 spf, but if it's in a foundation it's only like 18 mostly. That's a gorgeous foundation stick however and I'm loving how it melts into ur skin, but all HG prods break me out hella bad. Becca, Kevin A....they all break me out unfortunately so I'll have to pass on this one too. Ur fall hair color is bomb btw!👍🏻
Can u do a tutorial applying your mac nourishing waterproof foundation? I know you own it.. & love it! But I don't think you've ever done a video on it.
Might be a good idea to make a dedicated review on that one! I’ve definitely used it a few times in tutorials in the last few months if you’re curious! Perhaps search Arna Alayne and the product name and some should come up x
It looks like the shade names and numbers are different in the US. Wasn’t able to figure out what shade this one would correspond to but it looks like maybe it would best match 140N perhaps?
Hi Arna, if you don't want the texture of your blemishes to be seen, you should avoid using a lighter colour (than the foundation you're wearing) and cover them with a shade darker. Darker shades makes things sink and lighter makes things pop out... It is the same principle as for contouring ;) Hope this helps...
I found it local to me in Texas and just picked it up today & will try tomorrow! Arna let me know if you want me to pick CYO up for you and I will google how to ship to Australia, lol! 101 and 102 seem so pink to me, I’m wondering if you’d like it or if I will 🤔
What shade in foundation are you in Mac/ Nars or makeup forever? I want to try the hourglass foundation but they dont sell it in the netherlands so im trying to get the perfect shade over the internet. Since shipping rates are high i really dont wanna mess it up. 😭 please help
Thus us my favorite high end foundation, Arna, and I have combination, leaning toward oily, skin. I use a combo of the origins pot perfecting cooling primer, the foam one and then a pore filling primer on my more textured areas and that keeps me very matte all day. I do powder of course, but I only go heavy in my t zone. I use the urban decay Velvetizer in my t zone and then I lightly dust my peach powder from too Faced all over. I stay looking great and it only breaks down a bit after about 9 or so hours, depending on what I'm doing. So, I think this is great for oily skin, you just have to use the right primer and powder with it! It just makes my skin look so perfect without looking fake or cakey. And I'm a year and a half from the big 4-0, so finding foundations that both control or don't break down under oil and don't emphasize my fine lines is huge thus does that and I'm a huge fan. For color reference, I use the Alabaster in the winter, but I do add just a couple dots or vanilla to it in the summer when I get some color. So I'm pretty fair and cool toned myself. I'm tempted to try the cream now though to see if it's better in the winter!
Gutted that the new shade is another cool shade. I'm very fair but with a warm undertone and find it really hard to find foundations. In the UK atleast it seems like most palest shades seem to be cool
You know I was so excited for cream but blanc is still my closest match. Cream wasn’t anywhere near as light as I was hoping it would be. Good to know I’m more pale then you for future shades you review though.
I have tried to make this work so many times. The shade cream is my perfect match and I love the finish, but it just doesn’t sit well on my skin. It looks so cakey on my face, breaks up within a few seconds, and you can literally see every single pore and texture on my face even with a primer. Can you recommend another foundation that is a color match? I’ve used Mac NW10 which is perfect too, but it breaks me out.
Well, the Estée Lauder DW Nude in 1N0 Porcelain is very similar in shade and a much lighter feel! Or for something fuller coverage, try the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr in 090 Ivorie x
Jayna Peterson Have you tried the Cover FX line they have a few from liquids to creams even powders their more affordable then the Hourglass and cruelty free like Hourglass and they have a crap ton of shades NW10 would convert to P10 which is the shade I wear and I just tried the Power Play today I've had it on 10 hours and it's just now looking caking around my nose. BTW I have a normal skin type.
Tammy St. Jean Hi Tammy! I haven’t yet tried it, but I have been wanting to try it next. I have a dry skin type and literally everything cakes and creases around my nose and smile lines so it’s hard to find the right fit for me. I’ll definitely try it now! Thank you!
They have 32 shades but you have to go 5 shades in to get one for a warm undertone, so I agree with you about the undertone issues!
And I love the idea of using two different shades either for a perfect match or to create contour, but it's so expensive!
Thanks for letting me know about the new shade, can't wait to try it!
If any fellow normal/dry skin people are unsure about buying this, I can tell you what works best for me that leaves it looking pretty flawless all day. It's never broken down on me this way and I end up with a slightly glowy satin finish that lasts til I wash it off!
Such great dry skin advice!! Thanks for sharing :) And for normal/combo/oily, make sure you use that silicone primer haha!
Arna Alayne Thank you, Arna!😊I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm a new subbie from Houston, TX. I love all the info you give, the way you film in studio and natural lighting is awesome, the close ups, wear tests, and the swatches are so helpful to me! I love the way you talk about the skin sensitivities different people might have, like scent, talc, etc.
Trying to cover all bases :)
Wow what are the odds that I searched for a review of the Hourglass foundation only to realize one of my favorite youtubers posted one today! Love you! Thanks for being so thorough with your reviews
Yay!! Glad it came at a good time! X
So happy you did this review. I have the Blanc and alabaster and was really struggling to find out how to use it properly with primers and brushes etc, can’t wait to give it another try. Your reviews are always so helpful.
😘😘
I picked up Cream in January and I need to play around with it more. This video was a great reminder.
This foundation seems perfect for my dry skin, I'm surely gonna try it!
I got the shade porcelain because it's neutral, but it's too dark for me. I wear Swan in the Born This Way foundation, and it is spot on. Would Cream be comparable to Swan? I'm neutral-slightly cool undertone.
It’s a similar depth, but just a touch more pink x
Arna Alayne thank you! I wish I could get s sample so I could try it before I spend that much money!
Thank you!! That bag is by Teddy Blake :) it looks like an Hermes haha
I have seen tons of your videos and this is such an amazingly beautiful & classic look for you. Your skin, the blush & eyes all look so fabulous and timeless. I like the rosier blushes on you as they are the perfect pop of color. This look with a tea rose pink top would look SO divine.🌷
Thank you so much 😘
I am loving that you're uploading so frequently; notifications every other day are the highlight of my work day x

The Illamasqua Skin Base in 02 is great :)
Thanks for testing it out i was wondering what shade would fit me and i think i have a simular skin tone . Whats in your brows i love the colour?
I think it’s my BH Cosmetics HD Brow Pencil in Blonde :)
This foundation looks beautiful on you!! Thanks for the review!
hey I love watching your videos. I was just wondering what you thought would be the best affordable foundation and concealer for dry skin ? thank you
Probably a little out of my depth with that one, but the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is great, affordable, and the new shade 5 Ivory is pretty pale for a drugstore option! As for foundation, perhaps the Rimmel Match Perfection would be worth checking out x

Haha oh no!! 15DOF must come first haha but I’m sure Taylor doesn’t mind 🤗🤪 wow, you’re super fair!! you’d probably like Kat Von D in L41 then xx
Hi Arna! Have you tried the new Cover FX Power Play Foundation? I’m torn between trying it vs. Kat Von D lock it. We have similar skin tones so I trust your opinions on color/performance (:
It’s on its way to me right now :)
Beautiful!! What mascara are you wearing??
Benefit Roller Lash x
I didn’t know about that new shade! I need it! I am in between the other two as well! Thank you 😘😘😘😘
I can't get over how cute your hair is!!!
You read my mind. I was looking at this online an hour ago. I still can't decide.

I think from memory, just my Naked Basics Palette :)
I keep saying it but I gotta get my hands on that palette! It’s on sale here in the States, maybe now is the time...
Arna you saved my Hourglass Foundation!!! I have Blanc and it's a decent match but there is just something missing. First ... I found it can be hard to blend out. It’s a pleasure!!
Arna Alayne ... what brush did you use? I haven't been able to find anything like it
Great review! I've wondered about this one. Wish samples were possible before committing. ☺️
I noticed the Sephora site/app mentioned some new shades! I just wasn't sure where Cream fell on the spectrum, so it's nice to have a review and swatch of it 😊
Yes some sites have the new colours randomly in the middle haha but I’m going off the Hourglass website x
Holy crap it looks like there’s a filter on your face! So gorgeous!
Thank you!!
yay finally a color where we both match. it's a hair too light for me but I absolutely love it. alabaster was too yellow. im so excited to try this tomorrow with the hourglass primer
Thank you so much for the video. Do you have suggestions where to find a brush like yours? I've search around with no luck. Thank you!
Artis makes one :)
I may try this one! I tried a stick foundation once about ten years ago when they were first getting popular. (I’m old!) It felt like I was rubbing butter on my face! It did not feel great. And it broke down fast, and it just wasn’t very nice. It looks like they’ve come a long way though. Great review!

Those earrings are absolutely gorgeous on you! Awesome review!
Thank you!!
Hey Arna, thanks for doing all these videos on makeup products for people with fair skin, it's incredibly helpful
Thank you!! I’m currently in the middle of doing my lip products :) I’ve done Best Red Lipsticks for Pale Skin back in January I think, and Best Nudes is coming soon!!
Ohh okay! Thanks so much, can't wait to see your videos as usual! :)
Very beautiful on you, but you also have a gorgeous base for it! 😊 I don’t know if I’d ever buy (or have a need) this foundation, but I do think I’d like it on my dry skin.
Perhaps get someone to apply it on you at Mecca AU or Sephora US if you’re curious :)
Yay ! A cruelty free review !! I’m on the fence about this one. I want so badly to try it , but man - 7 grams is just a tiny amount.
Sooooo tiny!
Charissa Johnson You want tips on good cruelty free I'm your girl.
I so appreciate your honest & thorough reviews x
I love your reviews Arna, thank you! The shade porcelain is the closest shade match of any foundation I've ever found so I was super excited to find it, but I'm pretty sure it breaks me out so I rarely use it. It's good to have in the drawer, but not great for everyday. P.S. I'm obsessed with the Ambient Lighting Powders after watching you!!
Glad you love the HG Powders :)
Your skin is so beautiful!!!
It's not like I can get this foundation in my country but I'd love to... it seems to hold up pretty well on you and we have thesame skin type. I have no idea how I managed to miss until now how beautiful your brows look up close! 😍
Thank you!! They’ve gotten better over the years haha
Bought this from Mecca Maxima today in Alabaster and can’t wait to try it properly tomorrow.
Nice!!
Yep sounds like it wouldn’t work for you! Xx
What eyeshadow are you wearing in this video? Can you do a tutorial on that eye look? It’s simple but so pretty
It’s basically my everyday eye look from January I think! Literally just a crease contour and a bronze liner smudged into the lashes x
John in the corner, that was so perfect!
Can you use a silicone primer with other kinds of foundations?
It’s best to use silicone primers with silicone-based foundations (but note they do often still list water as the first ingredient)
Seamlessness ! AH I LOVE JOHN
Hehe! So glad for this review, my oily skin has really leveled out to more of a normal (ish)skin type with a few dry spots from my blemish treatments, So I'm thinking I might give this a try!
as always thank you Arna!!!
Pleasure 😘😘
Hahaha. Seamless! That was great.
Awesome review too. Lots of love from Canada! 💕✨🇨🇦
Thank you!! Xx
Yay a cruelty free review! :)
Wow this is gorgeous !! Great review!
Thank you love x
I'm glad you reviewed this. I checked out porcelain which had an okay undertone but was far too dark. But alabaster & blanc were too pink. Ah well. My wallet will thank me for not being covered here. P.s. Loved John Maclean popping up for seamless. Lol
Yep, I would wait it out until they release even more shades (hopefully fair neutral shades!)
Did you ever find the perfect shade? The shades say cool undertone but they look soo pink
Thank you xx
Can u do a tutorial applying your mac nourishing waterproof foundation? I know you own it.. & love it! But I don't think you've ever done a video on it.
Might be a good idea to make a dedicated review on that one! I’ve definitely used it a few times in tutorials in the last few months if you’re curious! Perhaps search Arna Alayne and the product name and some should come up x
Alright I'll try that. I try not to miss any of your videos but maybe I did. Or somehow didn't realize you were using that one.
That new colour is like a second skin for you, I can’t believe how well it matches!
Thanks!! It’s a goodie!
What powders have you found work best with it?
The one I used 😉😉😉 Milani Set Prep & Glow x
Arna Alayne is that the only one? I haven’t found anything in my collection I love with it.
Any silica based HD Powder also looks nice although will cause flash back, and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light is also great!
I wasn't able to find that shade in the Lancome Teint Idole Foundation stick. What shade is it?
Beige Porcelain x
It looks like the shade names and numbers are different in the US. Wasn’t able to figure out what shade this one would correspond to but it looks like maybe it would best match 140N perhaps?
Hi Arna, if you don't want the texture of your blemishes to be seen, you should avoid using a lighter colour (than the foundation you're wearing) and cover them with a shade darker. Darker shades makes things sink and lighter makes things pop out... It is the same principle as for contouring ;) Hope this helps...
Yes sorry I wasn’t clear - I used Cream on my actual blemishes, but Blanc as concealer under my eyes and to highlight my face! Xx
Please review CYO Lifeproof 101 Foundation!
Hard to get in Australia, but I’ll try x
I've been meaning to try this but it's so hard to find!
I found it local to me in Texas and just picked it up today & will try tomorrow! Arna let me know if you want me to pick CYO up for you and I will google how to ship to Australia, lol! 101 and 102 seem so pink to me, I’m wondering if you’d like it or if I will 🤔
ObsessivelyEverAfter nnooooo I’m fair but neutral ☹️ foundations with a pink undertone are 🙅🏻♀️
What shade in foundation are you in Mac/ Nars or makeup forever? I want to try the hourglass foundation but they dont sell it in the netherlands so im trying to get the perfect shade over the internet. Since shipping rates are high i really dont wanna mess it up. 😭 please help
I include some swatches in this review which might help you. I’m Y205 in MUFE x
Arna Alayne thank you so much love have a blessed day ❤️
I am soooooo tempted to by this one, it looks like it would be perfect for me. But the price though... 😥
Hi Ama
Would you kindly review NARS sheer glow Siberia Foundation. If you have done before could you please send me a link. Would be great.
It’s much too yellow for me sorry xx
Thus us my favorite high end foundation, Arna, and I have combination, leaning toward oily, skin.
Thanks for sharing! That’s super helpful xx
Does anyone know if the Becca first light primer (the purple one) is silicone based or water based? Would it work with this foundation?
I believe FL Primer has silicones in it, so yes it should work x
Can you review the Becca hydramist powder?
I’ll look into it x
Gutted that the new shade is another cool shade. I'm very fair but with a warm undertone and find it really hard to find foundations. In the UK atleast it seems like most palest shades seem to be cool
Yes that’s very hard :( I’m guessing you’ve tried NARS Siberia?
Blanc would be perfect for me but I have oily skin and the founation is kinda pricey so... Maybe not now
I just received Alabaster and it looks yellow on my face, even though it is supposed to be cool, I am extremely pinkish :/
The John Mclean picture was great haha
You have the prettiest voice.
This looks great on you
The foundation is gorgeous ❤️ but the price is really something I wouldn't splurge right now hahaha 😅
Why did John Maclean pop up on screen? Was there a reference i missed? Lol
Haha he always says “SEAMLESSNESS”! It’s a little inside joke 🤪🤪
Goooosh why are you so gorgeous????
I like how she talks
You know I was so excited for cream but blanc is still my closest match. Cream wasn’t anywhere near as light as I was hoping it would be. Good to know I’m more pale then you for future shades you review though.
Cream is a good summer shade for me! I go a little paler in the winter x
I want to try these so badly but they're so $$$ :(
I have tried to make this work so many times.
Note: 1N0 is not available in the US, and if you’re in Australia, the Lancôme shade equivalent is called 008 x
Arna Alayne I’m in the US so I won’t be able to try that shade, but thank you for the referrals!
Thank you!
I think I must be the only person that this foundation looks like garbage on. 😩
😪 no one foundation will work for all sadly!
Kitna bore karti ho tumm
Hey Arna, I really like your channel, but I had to stop the video because of the beeping. It's a very inconvenient PTSD trigger.
I’m so sorry! It’s the construction site outside my apartment which I sadly have no control over! Xx
