Great tutorial. As a shakehand player, I must admit I am most concerned when playing penholders because it seems they can disguise their serve better. This tutorial helps me understand what they are actually doing. Thank you brothers! From Washington State, USA.
Wow, thank you for a great video! I play penhold, but because no one else here in Sweden plays penhold it's been very hard for me to learn things like serves. Now I will practice these serves!
I'm still not good at table tennis,I have been playing for a couple of months and I was originally a shakehand player but I am very curious about the penhold grip, and that's why I gave it a try, thank you for this video,I will definitely try it out tomorrow first 3rd thing in the morning
Thank you very much! I've only just started playing a little bit ping pong and my friends were kidding around about me being chinese and saying I should be pro at this and all that saying that I should start doing ping pong and so I'm just looking for styles that might suit me and I chose penhold. But it was so hard to find a video for serves because I don't know how to serve at all with penhold I only found out about it like I don't like 30 minutes ago, haha. So yeah, this is great help!😂
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. It seems common for penholders to do a forward motion of the racket during the toss; can you explain this? I see it a lot, but I don't understand why. Is it meant to distract the opponent?
I really like the hook serves, it can be well disguised top or backspin. Great video! I'm a shakehand player who likes to play with penhold every now and then.
*I like how he kept redoing the take at the end until his friend could finally lob one that actually hits the table, just so he can smash it back at him. LOL.*
I do enjoy and have learned somethinng by watching your video. To answer your question, I like hook spin serves the most. However, is it legal to stump (7:38) on the ground hardly and nosily when we serve?
Thank you very much for a great channel about penhold tech and serves. Could you tell us about your blade and rubbers? That sticky black one seems quite spinny.. :-)
@@MLFMTableTennis Thanks for reply - and im surprised, because people think that G666 is very slow, but ok, Ma Lin Extra Off is quite fast and with correct tech, this blade and rubber will be fast and at the same time very controllable.. Nice setup :-)
Hook Underspin. Sweet lord, it's an awesome serve. I've been doing it but not knowing that i was. Borrowed it from Wang Hao and using it to great effect.
I am now shakehand player and played almost 35 years.. Currently I consider to switch to penbold style. Do you think the adaption will take so long? what should I do to adapt faster? Thank you!
the video i needed.. but im not left handed hahaha and i dont know the diffrence between those hook thing, top spin and under spin.. can you tell the diffrence? i liked side underspin serve and saw side top spin and if u ask me i dont see the diffrence...
Diffirent between hook underspin and topspin is the contact point bro! Hook underspin - contact at under-side of ball. Hook topspin - contact at ontop-part of ball
Hello i was thinking to buy Malin extra offense pen hold can u upload a review video of that blade ??? I found it cheap and even Malin himself used for I was looking forward to buy that

That long fast serve of yours is pretty solid. Probably the most basic but executed more nicely then i've ever seen.

It's to move it forward. Chinese technique. Only someone playing penhold would take the time to learn
I really like the hook serves, it can be well disguised top or backspin.
