I found this channel about a year ago and literally have watched over 100 of Sebastian's videos! I am an 80's baby and was really into perfumes but stopped buying them towards the 2010's and leaned more into scented shea butters and scented oils. I did so because the quality of designers became so weak and just seemed like a waste of money! This channel got me into niche brands and also got me into scent notes that I avoided in the past! Because of this channel alone, patchouli is now 1 of my top 5 favorite notes! I always hated it when I was younger because all I knew was the 70's skunk hippie patchouli. Sebastian is literally the BEST fragrance reviewer period! This dude is a perfume encyclopedia! I actually think he should be referred to as the Perfume Encyclopedia! No hyperbole, I watch/listen to atleast 3 of his videos a day! Some I have watched multiple times! I think he should come out with a book! I definitely would purchase. I also think he should start a scent therapy program where he advises patients on fragrances that fit their personality, style, mood, etc. Also give a reading like a medium based on what client's favorite fragrances are!😂

I love the way you run through so many examples of how different patchouly can be and that you add the timestamps. My favourite type is the more woody/cacao-like. I think you should really get your hands on Patchouli Noisette by Les Indemodables. It's so beautiful and soothing. It features an ultrasound extract of hazelnut from Piemont (apparently a world premiere), has some ever so slightly fruity and lactonic nuances without being gourmand (I'm team Dalya on that one).
I love patchouli in fragrances. My favorite designer release of 2023 is Boss Bottled Elixir which focuses heavily patchouli with incense and it smells divine. I do not know all of the fragrances you mentioned, but please let me add some of my favourit patchoulis: Ramon Monegal: Mon Patchouly ( very elegant, a little herbal sweetness), Nasomatto: Hindu grass ( earthy and caramell 60th patchouly bomb, I love it!! Sadly discontinued), Maison Rebatchi: Feu Patchouli ( created by Bertrand Duchaufour, what a masterpiece in blending sweet orange, pink pepper, patchouli and oak moss) and Xerjoff: Tony Iommi: Leather, patchouli in your face, chocolate!
Thank you for this video. For a while now, I've concluded that patchouli is my favorite note/ingredient in perfumery. I need to try all of these on this list. I already own V Canto "Mea Culpa", and it's one of my highest-ranking favorite fragrances in my collection (I made sure to have a backup bottle of it).

Great list. Honore Payan was the actual maker of Reminisce and Nereides and still sells the 'original' formulation. Nobile 1942 Patchouli is another noteworthy one. Pierre Guillaume Patchouli Intrigant is similar to Horizon, but I prefer it, it has a bit more going on.
Wow, what an enjoyable marathon. I have one of them, the Panouge Patchouli Figue. Made a gift of it, too, to my best friend and his son, when we were "refugees" from Ukraine camping out in Ohio last year. They loved it. Only meant to give it to them, but the bottle I ordered from France took so long to arrive we assumed it was lost. So Panouge sent me a second at no extra charge. Then the first one showed up! 😄 Yes, I did pay for both. 🙂 So I kept a bottle for myself.

Profumum Roma Patchouly is my favorite by far. It’s used to be Jovoy Psychedelic (which is still one of my favorite frags), but Profumum Roma Patchouly scent is perfect and is beastmode as well!

I am not sure about patchouli per se but there are some on this list that I want, especially the Kayali Vanilla Royale. Most of all, I love the dynamic between the two of you! ☺☺
My only Patchouli is Tempo by Diptyque. Most describe it as warming and spicy, which isn't untrue. But I personally detect a cooling mint-tea effect. Not that I'd wear it in outdoor summer heat, but I'd wear it pretty much any other time. Love it so much.

I really like these patchouli vidoes you guys do. I paused it 3 times but I was on a hot tea binge. Patchouli is my favourite smell on Earth, and I always to know how to find frangrance with patchouli and these videos helped me out big time and helped my collecting hobby. I am really discovering the more medicinal kind of patchouli but also like all sorts. Take care!
I adored this video and watched it on my TV even though I am typing this from my phone. I have not been able to purchase much of anything due to the loss of my job. However, during the very many years I had my job, I obviously bought lots of perfumes. Now that I have to weigh every Penny I spend, I have been only wearing fragrances in my own collection. My collection is very large, as I own too many to count, but know it is much more than 1.000. I never realized how many of my perfumes are patchouli related, and although I do not have all of them, I have many of the patchouli fragrances you mentioned in this video. I have bought one new perfume recently and it is also a patchouli fragrance and from one of my favorite and affordable Houses with great perfumers. It is Essential Perfumes Patchouli Mania and I have been wearing it almost every day since purchasing it. I think you would really like it.

Rouge Perfumery Derviche 1 is incredible stuff. Kinda smells like a urinal cake but it’s really really good and unique. Derviche 2 smells like a modern sweet scent lol. Go with the 1..
For me Frederic Malle - Monsieur is all I need and it's an upgrade from my favourite fragrance for years Givenchy- Gentleman '74. If I could choose just one patchouli fragrance to own it would be Monsieur by FM. Brilliant fragrance.

Apart from Angel by Mugler I've got Molinard's Patchouli Intense (great chocolatey patchouli) and lately I discovered from Lush Lord of Misrule (don't have de perfume but the body mist) and I'm really liking that one, sweet powdery vanilla patchouli, love it!
I was so upset that I missed my two favorites discussing my favorite note…but…I’ve calmed down now! I, like Dahlia, have a lot of Patchouli based fragrances. But, that will not stop me from making a list from this video. Dahlia, you are definitely my nose twin. I don’t like many sweet vanillas, Guerlain gets a pass, but add a boozy vanilla and I’m in heaven. I plan to watch this again during my flight to Germany so I am sure my list is ready for some retail therapy. And finally you two just make me smile when you’re together.

I know you don't like to include discontinued fragrances, but I was wondering if you are familiar with Comme des Garcons Luxe: Patchouli and Annick Goutal Mon Parfum Chéri par Camille. Both were available in edt and edp concentrations. Anyways, wondering what you thought.
I thought I was the only one that missed cdg luxe patchouli! Man, I really wish they’d bring it back, in the parfum, not the edt. It’s was the cleanest, actually prettiest scent on my skin and I haven’t found anything remotely close to that fresh of a patchouli since!
Serge Luten's Borneo 1834, Cartier's L'Heure Defendue VII, and Carolina Herrera's Nightfall Patchouli; are all extraordinary patchouli fragrances. My favourite is SL's Borneo 1834. Cheers.

But my current patch hoe love os profumum roma patchouly. In LOVE. and the lotion... Yes please. Have either one of you ever grown or smelled Larkspur? I grow it every year, it's a self-seeding annual plant. The way you describe patchouli, it's the same feeling I get from the Larkspur flowers (not the plant). Kinda chocolate cakey but it can go skanky depending on how it reaches your nose. I love that you’ve got Fresh’s “Cannabis Santal” in here - my first true love of fragrances! It’s extremely complex and blended *masterfully*. In my opinion, it blows formulations 3x it’s price out of the water. After being discontinued for a couple of years, it has seen a re-release and smells just as incredible.

Have either one of you ever grown or smelled Larkspur? I grow it every year, it's a self-seeding annual plant. The way you describe patchouli, it's the same feeling I get from the Larkspur flowers (not the plant). Kinda chocolate cakey but it can go skanky depending on how it reaches your nose. Very enticing!! Thanks for these videos, y'all are so silly. 😆Cheers!!

I love that you’ve got Fresh’s “Cannabis Santal” in here - my first true love of fragrances! It’s extremely complex and blended *masterfully*. In my opinion, it blows formulations 3x it’s price out of the water. After being discontinued for a couple of years, it has seen a re-release and smells just as incredible.
