With tears i can say this is my favourite channel. Tears coz you watch this channel buy the speakers wich appeal to you the most and thats it. A lot of work for Digital yet not rewarding enough. Hope you keep up for years to come.
They both sound good with me leaning towards the klipsch but the great thing is they are not even competing in the same price bracket so recommending one is as easy as asking what one's budget is.
Here in Malaysia where I live, The Five costs 4 times the price of Edifier s1000 mk11.....yes...we have the cheapest Edifier's price list in the world...No brainer there on what to choose .
First of all, I like to thank you for demoing the K. Fives you do listen to your viewers. Some speakers reviewers on UA-cam just love to talk and talk seldom respond to viewers, respond only those who criticize the channel. I give the channels a few suggestions and never taken up. You are doing a good job listening to the viewers. BTW a lot of reviewers do not realise using WORDS to just describe sound reproduction has many short comings but they do not view it that way. Demos replace hundreds if not thousand of words. After hearing these 2 spkrs actually, I refer the Edifier it gives a better soundstage in terms of height, sound width is about the same. Also the K. Fives is much more expensive, new buyers may want to buy it for a future app which I was told may include Room Correction for the Fives in the user living room. I thought the Fives will give better Bass respond but the Freq. Resp curves from both spkrs indicate there in the same ball park. I was told that in low vol. the Fives automatically adjust to gives the listener better bass. So as per your demo, the Edifier has the edge. I thought the Fives using compression driver will give the spkrs 'more' dynamic sound, from your demo tracks I don't hear it that way. I could go on and on but I think that's enough for now.
They sound very very similar, at least according to this recording. If the Edifier is cheaper then it's a better buy. But it's hard to realize when the mic is so close to the speaker. For example it's impossible to hear the affect of the Klipsch's horn on the spatial sound in the room.
You can hear the bass bleed over on the fives because of the eq settings they come with. Overall both speakers sounds really good. The fives seem a little more fun but the edifiers sound a lot more neutral. both depend heavily on how far away from the wall they are and size of room.
Wow what a difference. Listening on Beyer Dynamic DT1990 Pro headphones and you can really hear how much more open and detailed the mids and highs are on the Edifiers. The Klipsch sound good but you can hear they have a big smiley face EQ curve with a very smooth sounding roll off on the top end. That's an Edifier win for me.
I bought the Fives about a year ago and at first they were ok but after some investigation I did two things that made them so much better. First get their download and the phone app that allows you to tailor their eq and room placement changes and two I bought a Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC 100. I run these with an older Klipsch 10" sub now I'm a pretty happy camper on music as well as movies.
Incredible!!! At less then half the price the Edifier sound more true to the sound track. My question however is "what is the real RMS power of both?". I mean, do the Klipsch deliver much more power?
Haha. I'm watching this video on my desktop with sound coming out of my "Fives". Great video. I love my Fives, but definitely had to turn the bass all the way down so it wasn't overpowering. The bass coming out of the Fives is insane. Got them for $400 on sale so I went for them over the Edifiers.
Klipsch are much cleaner and have better instruments separation, you can hear it especially on a Metal Head track. Definitely a winner for me. But they cost much more, so that's not a surprise.
So they are good for metal and prog rock then?.. I listen to alot of metal, prog rock but also ambient and electronic music so want something that's good for both.
at times i can hear the Edifier getting confused between bass and mids, sounds muddy, then at times it has better soundstage than the Klipsch…as for the fives, true to form it is base heavy, but is sounds superb with the hip hop track and anything with distinct mids, good for vocals, and has better frequency seperation…you can’t get wrong with both speakers in the end
I’m biased. I have the Edifier S1000MKII speakers. They’re brilliant! The Klipsch also sound brilliant but based on what I’m hearing here, I think I made the correct choice.
Honestly, having heard the The Fives in person, I feel this video really doesn't do them justice. Not that I don't like these videos, but there seemed to be so much more from The Fives that seems missing here, hard to describe. I wouldn't be surprised if the Edifiers beat them on bass, but the Klipsch have a great detail that still sounds warm.
Fives sounded a lot more natural and detailed through my planar headphones. Less bass, but plenty of it, and a more linear presentation from top to bottom. Clear winner for my taste.
I have both the Fives at home and the Edifier in the office I compared them once at home and the Fives sound a little better but are more critical to position The Edifier is more easy in that area The Fives must be placed in the correct height to your listening position otherwise they sound worse than the Edifier 1000 mk2 The Fives are great and the sub out works fantastic But the price difference to the Edifier is much too big for the little improvement you get with the Fives Wouldn't buy them again for that reason only But they are really fun so I'm still happy
Here in Mexico, the Fives costs almost 500 dlls, as the Edifier are arround 250 dlls. Im thinking to buy The Fives, but your comment makes me think it again.
I have added some acoustic treatment hence the darker sound due to less reverbrations. Regarding the bass, this is very placement dependant and in this placement sound was a bit more bassy
I tend to like deeper notes and so bass heavy or bass tuned speakers I enjoy more and couldn’t be happier with my Fives. Will be getting the Nines and move my Fives to my PC setup.
thanks for the comparison. don't know how to explain wat i hear: the sound from edifier is muddy, especially for metal track. both systems sound muffled, like they are enclosed in a barrel, or lowered into a well. like their apperture is very small in midrange, which is not evident from their spectrum. why is the spectrum so choppy? is it the room or the cabinet? they seem to coincide at lots of frequencies. just thinking outloud
The sound difference is marginally better with the Klips primarily through the better inspections of instruments but value for money and sheer versitality then the Edifiers win hands down.
Question. The fives paired with a klipsch sub, should be a no brainer, correct? I was told that klipsch is using the same ceramic tweeters that they are using for their reference series. Can someone please confirm this? And they are also using the same drivers from their reference series as well. If this is true, then technically speaking, if you paired the fives with a klipsch sub, wouldn't you have a speaker that would rival speakers costing thousands more?
Susan Ivanova and do they sound good at low volumes as well? Planning to connect it to my record player in a room. I’m currently using the JBL boombox.

@@DSAUDIOreview Really? Better than S2000pro? I've heard your S2000 comparison with the Klipsch where the Klipsch sounded rather tinny and lacking serious low-end.
The Fives: good clarity on treble, thumpy bass, recessed mids. S1000MKII: clearer bass, fuller mids, less clarity on treble. I would very soon get bored of the thin vocal sound from The Fives.
No it's not. Well tuned bass ports are very efficient. Even expensive studio monitors have them.... But of course they don't know what they're doing in studio's .....
More depth all around to the Edifiers on the first track “Deep”. Again, the same on the second track. Klipsch gets the nod on the third track. Edifier on the fourth track does it for me. The Klipsch bass sound there isn’t right. Fifth track, “Metal Head”, I can’t decide between the two. That’s a draw. Sixth track, “Bellissimo”, more bass on the Klipsch but it’s not necessary. I think I’ll mark that one a draw. The seventh track seems overall depressed on the Klipsch so again, Edifier wins. On the eighth track the Klipsch sound is positively tinny. Edifier wins here again. So, all in all that is Edifier - 5, Klipsch - 1, with two draws…. That’s the judgement on sound reproduction, through my Beats Flex buds with the same results through my Sony MDR-XB650BT. Price? Well that’s got to be Edifier all day long and thrice on Sundays…
Nah, its to hard to hear the difference this way. Anyway we should give respect to edifier. Being cheaper for more than a twice they sound pretty good in this comparation.
That's clear already :) Bigger driver,, better tweeter bigger amps, more advanced tech, more box volume, higher series...... I have the 1850 with closed 10" Tannoy active sub (office) and still they are not even close in detail and low-end to the S2000MKIII (living room)
The Fives did better with the classical music, the instruments sounded more realistic. Other than that, I cant tell a real difference. The Fives cost twice as much though.

Video next: The Fives vs Edifier, Audiengine, DALI v.v.v
Thanks
Hi! just want to ask,, which one would you go SQ Wise?the S2000pro, S1000MKii or the Klipsch R-51PM?
S1000MKII
Digital Stereophony more power! Thank you!!!
@@DSAUDIOreview Really? Better than S2000pro? I've heard your S2000 comparison with the Klipsch where the Klipsch sounded rather tinny and lacking serious low-end.
Since the sound profile is almost exactly the same , maybe the drivers manufacturer is the same company !🤔
The Fives: good clarity on treble, thumpy bass, recessed mids. S1000MKII: clearer bass, fuller mids, less clarity on treble. I would very soon get bored of the thin vocal sound from The Fives.
the normal ported muddy bass. its amazing that ported is still selling.
No it's not. Well tuned bass ports are very efficient. Even expensive studio monitors have them.... But of course they don't know what they're doing in studio's .....
I'm 68 and have minor deafness but the edifier sound crisper.
nice video
Bass has more detail and impact on the fives mids are a tad better on edifier the difference is too small to truly care about
Did you listen with headphones? Im listening through a Sonos 5 and if anything, the edifier sounds better to me. Yea its close.
+ klipsh, but price s1000 amazing
Obviously the dearer wins.. but edifier holds its own in the price
микрофон на басах перегружается, особенно заметно на первом треке!
Edifier
Klipsch play Midrange little better.🤘👌👌👌👌👌
Really? How does it handle guitars and keyboards...Not buried behind bass too much?
Edifier!!!!
The fives... absolutely!
Being cheaper for more than a twice they sound pretty good in this comparation.
both klipsches and edifiers are better then source track..
Klipsch is the winner overall here.
Edifier S1000MKII vs Edifier R1850DB
That's clear already :) Bigger driver,, better tweeter bigger amps, more advanced tech, more box volume, higher series......
I have the 1850 with closed 10" Tannoy active sub (office) and still they are not even close in detail and low-end to the S2000MKIII (living room)
The Fives did better with the classical music, the instruments sounded more realistic. Other than that, I cant tell a real difference. The Fives cost twice as much though.
Yikes half the price and a very comparable sound. Hmmmm for $350 the Fives look way better and because I'm in my new studio I may splurge.
Klipsch's (horn) are better for classical music, Edifier's are better for everything else.
Edifier❤
easy win for the Edifier just because of the price difference
