I feel that Vanderbilt is essentially an addition due to coming back from injury. I always felt his defense and athleticism would have unlocked last years team. We need a solid big man that can lean on from time to time.
Naw bro. He can go. He is not a lock down defender. idk why people act like he is. Point out 1 game where he actually locked down someone. And he is terrible on offense. Too much money wasted on him. Can't even get rid of him with his limitations
Will he be of any help in the playoffs though? Vanderbilt is equally a game-changer as he is unplayable. He's a bad finisher at the rim, can't shoot, can't create but he's elite as an on-ball and help defender.

I also think people are overlooking Vando's rebounding and the fact that he was actually giving us a little offense under the basket in the few games he was healthy last year.
Now you might say that was very few but I don't remember any 5 game stretch before that the year before where he was doing that good.
I've always said I'm not worried about his three. He just needs to let me catch those lasers that LeBron throws he goes to the basket and he needs to be able finish when he does. And be able to finish put backs when he gets O rebs
Vando can hoop, and for the above guy he's locked up Luka and made it tough on kd and others, he's an all defensive player if he can have a healthy season, he's that good on that side of the floor

Only real missed opportunity I see here was Valanciunas. These other big names are washed and looking for their last big contract.
If you wanna be mad at Pelinka about anything it’s the lack of urgency trade and clear these roster spots, we’re missing out on some of the lesser names that would be solid for us. Bucks signing TP for minimum is a bargain.

If Gabe Vincent and Vanderbilt play this year, and Knecht contributes, we are better than last year. A center world be huge for us though.

Klay didn’t turn the Lakers down, Warriors did in a sign and trade bc they didn’t want D-Lo. Signing as a FA They could only give him 12.8 Million per year vs Mavs 16.7 million (that’s a big difference especially including no state tax vs high state tax).

PS Kuzma is ABSOLUTELY not the answer. Career -1.1 BPM. 33% from 3 the last 6yrs from 3 on 6 attempts per game. 28% from 3 in playoffs (27 games) on 4 attempts per game. He’s -2.2 OnOff for career and -7.2 in playoffs! His offensive rating and defensive rating for his career are both not good.

The Walker Kessler trade idea is perfect. If that happens I think that the team is in good shape. Darvin Ham, according to EVERY fan was the problem...he's gone. That's 3 upgrades right there and Gabe Vincent plus Vando will be healthy. 5 reasons right there that should make this team better. That Kessler trade needs to happen and the Lakers will be fine.

Kuz is a better fit than Rui. Rui's a better post up/mid range player, but Kuz runs the floor and is that young set of legs that ends up where you need him to be.
With a pass first player (i.e. Back in the Zo/Kuz days), Kuz will run the floor for easy buckets. Kuz can be a 15-20pt scorer with 6-8 rebounds easily on this team. AD needs rebounding help, he needed to do so much on both ends of the floor against the Nuggets & he'll ultimately end up getting injured.
I love Rui, but in the recent playoffs he was too scared to shoot, and when he did he couldn't make diddly squat.
There should be one open roster spot if the Lakers were not forced to sign Bronny into a regular nba contract.

To behonest I liked last year's roster, we jus needed to be healthy we had injuries throughout the duration of the season- we jus need a big a wing and get someone that knows how to close games so that takes the pressure off LeBron.... We don't need d Lo closing a game then reeves closing a game then someone else trying to be a hero. That's a problem we need to hang our hats on DEFENSE and limit these TURNOVERS! if our schedule is average and we have enough home games atleast 35 home games or more I think we can be the 4th seed, which is reachable but we gotta start the first ten games of the season winning being like 7-3 and keep that pace we gotta scout and prepare for the team that we are facing.... I'm tired of trading for, and acquiring, players who forget to play basketball once they get here, cant handle the championship-driven environment, and don't have the motivation nor goals set to excel here. I applaud them passing on the Lakers, it avoids us wasting picks and saves time having to adjust from their departures due to a lack of fit with an organization that is not for those who are not up for it.

So, of the rumors, there are two people who rejected more than a minimum offer from the Lakers. Klay and DeRozan
LeBron offered to take a pay cut for Klay... and then when he didn't get Klay (and the other rumored names were signed while Rob was trying to get Klay for LeBron) or DeRozan, LeBron took back the offer.
Not bagging on LeBron, just pointing out that the Lakers have only minimum contracts to offer to free agents. Why would any of these guys getting MLE level offers turn that down to get the minimum from the Lakers. Would you take 2 million from the Lakers when you could get 10 million from Golden State? Probably not.
Most of the players that they'd actually want got more than minimum contracts. I kinda wish they had waved Cam by now and maybe re-signed Prince for the minimum, but I think they're earmarking Prince's minutes to go to Max and Knecht.

@@johnperry7495 so multiple things here...i am not just talking players i am talking every body. ty lue rejected us in 2020 alongside monty williams (who ig people wouldnt want but still at that time he was sought out for and idk how much worse he would have been than vogel). anyways that was a few years back this year we got rejected by a college coach in hurley and an assistant coach in dwayne casey. then klay picked mavs because he thought they were a better destination for winning and so did hield with warriors ig since thats the rumor coming from them. only guy that wanted to be here is demar but we cant even get that deal done..now lets go to the player signings which are putting us above the second apron and fucking up our roster spots and may have effected our trade for klay. we gave player options to guys like christian wood, jaxxon hayes,cam reddish when atleast 2 of the 3 players didnt deserve a player option and now we are above the cap for this exact reason and do not have roster spots to sign a star either. then u add the fact that max christie was supposed to be signed an extra year and same with austin reaves and u have us paying another 10 t0 12 million a lot sooner than we needed to. these are just contractual mistakes, i could go in to detail about how they fucked up the roster build every year by building 0 shooting and wing depth for multiple years when that was our identity for when we won the champion ship. how they never ever got a decent guard for a big like ad who can use his gravity properly in pick and roll etc etc...there is so many other reasons but i hope this paragraph is enough to explain my gripes with the front office.

I wish people would stop avoiding the elephant in the room. Signing Bronny to a max second round deal is the reason why the team is hard capped. If LeBron is the "hero" for taking 11 million less for players that he wants then he has to be looked at as the villain if he doesn't take 1 million less to keep the team out of the second apron while his son got over paid.
Remember Rob had Buddy and DeRozan till LBJ and JB stepped in....But Rob gets the blame.

I've never seen Buddy Hield move the needle for a single team that he's been on. Goldenstate is a perfect fit for him.

Yeah Rui is a good piece. 6'8, good shooter, coachable, good midrange, big body, respectful, built chemistry. Same with DLO. Why get rid of these guys on good contracts??
With the addition of Buddy Hield to GS, I expect him and Curry will be jacking up 3's at record numbers. Of course, teams that live with the 3's will eventually die when the shots don't fall in.

2 years ago we made a few trades and make a run to the WCF. Last we wasn’t healthy enough all season and the only team we can beat is the nuggets, if Rob make a couple moves (the right moves) who to say we can make a run to the Finals
