Nice demo, looks really interesting. The bit I can't get my head round is what stops you turtling (in effect) by just building value for yourself taking care not to trigger the Nemesis scoring conditions? There is no ticking time bomb, is there?
I notice that because the Nemisis doesn't take a turn, you can have as many turns are you want, doing / building what you want, and the only thing you need to avoid is visiting one of his locations. So a 3 move trip across the board is beneficial rather than a time / progress waste? Is this correct or am I missing something?
you get prestige for lots of things in the game pushing you up the tracker, you also can't win until two game end requirements are met, which also requires you to do stuff and progress up the tracker. The movement does seem to be a given but if he gained control of a region or got a contact or did a job etc he would be gaining prestige and moving up the tracker.
I asked the same on gamefound page. Seems ridiculous there is no endnof the round ability. Therefore, turn 1 rest, turn 2 rest till turn 8, no more potential, you can continue a bit more to upgrade your influence too to take control of all his region, then the rest is easy.
@@Geekmatters1 yes, it seems logical that you can just work round the Nemisis scoring actions, build up strength in attributes, then go for the kill. We are probably missing something, hopefully O-Neb responds.
@stevekingswell9143 Thank you for this note! We're still in the playtesting phase, any system could change, including this one based on your feedback! I'm going to copy a portion of a message I just wrote on Gamefound concerning one's ability to simply avoid the effects of the nemesis: "A point to consider is that at each of the end game trigger thresholds on the leverage track, more nemesis threat cards will emerge that provide them with greater options for gaining leverage and denying / sidetracking you. Also, the nemeses have cards that hide in the other decks that can be grabbed accidentally on blind draws, which can similarly bolster the win potential of the nemesis in question. Also-est, we've only showed how Bone works and while his triggered abilities surrounding area control can be avoided, other nemeses affect mechanics that are much more difficult to circumnavigate (attribute alchemy for example)."
The main concern seems to be that the player(s) will take infinite turn against the Nemesis. To prevent that, why not let the Nemesis gain 2 leverages every end of round to prevent that? I feel like that provide a simple solution to prevent abusing the system.
That was a mistake. Good catch. I just should have put it under my blue contact.. 😂 Although. Once a purple Augmentation job is complete, it can be installed on any contact in your network!
@@JaredLingle nothings prevent me from resting from turn 1 to 12 lets way upgrading all my potential and some influence and stsrt to take control of all his region. Seems useless AI if there is no End of the round ability or something that orevents you wasting turn.
@@Geekmatters1 Thanks for this awesome feedback! We're still in development and testing, so we're open to considering these kinds of ideas and implementing fixes based on them! Up until this point, none of our playtesters noticed this semi-exploit, I'll take note of this for our next meeting!
Currently taking control of a region is a free action that only requires adjacency and the spending of concentration! You don't have to visit a region in order to take control.

Is the "Top Dowg" term intentional spelled that way? I'd thing it'd be "Top dog" or "top dawg" if you wanted a bit of twang.
Thanks for calling attention to this!
Dawg was the intention.
In order to take control did you visit his location, as that's another leverage to him?
