I love the look of teh Amstrad games, but the FPS is always below 10 fps. But they kept making games at such a low frame rate.

Amstrad CPC has problems with games that have scroll so, in general, it is best to avoid them.
Have you tried Hundra? It was also developed by Dinamic and has a pretty decent speed and movement.
