I have been to NZ a couple of times - beautiful country with great variety due to its north south orientation. Probably the most unusual trip was skiing down the glacier next to Mt. Cook. BTW, Nick I was born in Montana and although I don't live there now I enjoy visiting that great state. Love your spirit and passion for travel Mari. Stay safe.

I recommend the Vecto water bottle from CNOC for your Sawyer water filter, it comes in 2 and 3L, it's much easier to fill at your water source since it opens from the bottom and fits the Sawyer water filters.

Especially with coming to the Sierra and you must carry all food in a bear canister. Might have some 7 to 9 days stretches all in the cannister???
