Nick is a good guy, I know in real life he brought me and girlfriend to a rangers game with free box seat. he is one of the nicest man I know.. GO BRUINS
Kind of embarrassing to see Nicky on the first leg of his Cher-farewell tour. From Calgary he went to the Flyers where he did not exactly shine, then he played out the string in Edmonton.
Funny... I don't remember Fotiu doing much damage to the Rangers players... but I do remember Nick beating the shit out of Flyers goons Holgrem and Wilson among others!
Nick ''you know'' Fotiu. I remember every other word or words that he spoke you know was you know no matter you know what you know he was talking and you know he said you know a lot.
Honestly I've studied a lot of this fighting stuff and it's because players weren't stupid and quite simply wanted no part of Nick it's that simple. It's that way with Larry Robinson and some others from the 70s and 80s as well.
@@jamesmurphy5742 I agree with you for the most part. When the Isles would play the Rangers, Nystrom and Gillies would ignore Nicky because they knew he would try to stir the pot, but would usually wind up giving up a power play if they let him be and not challenge him. Same thing happened with Dave Schultz, Flyers had to trade him because the league really started to crack down on the thuggery and the Flyers were always leading the league in killing off power plays. Not something you want during the playoffs. I just think Nicky should have had many fights with Howatt, Plett, Wensick, O'Reilly, Playfair. If he did, then I wish people would post them. That would be great
Waste of time fighting Fotiu. He was a dancing carnival bear who could barely carry a hockey stick. Other teams knew he was put on the ice only to stir the pot so they left him alone. Fotiu himself was more interested in resting on his laurels than fighting with any regularity
He dropped the gloves with Wensink once and Big John looked very cautious about stepping in like he usually did. Refs broke it up after about 15 seconds
This was weird. Fotiu seemed to want a piece of Price, then after the charade, Fotiu and Price bump into each other and Fotiu has his big chance to get the guy he was pretending to want to get and Fotiu did nothing! This was like some big fake wwf silly skit grandstand play by Nicky. Fotiu, Maloney, Greschner, Nilan, Espo, Holmgren Potvin, Arbour, Howe, Mikita Biofile interviews all inthe book 80s Hockey Biofiles amazon books $14.99
The reason the NHL went to a two-referee system is because terrible referees like McCreary here couldn't manage the game properly. The instant an idiot like Fotiu shoves an official he needs to be gone. McCreary stands there doing nothing for 15-20 seconds
Didn't Holmgren once require immediate assistance from his teammates when he fought Fotiu?? At least that's what his teammates thought. Maybe they heard him crying out for his momma... maybe not. Either way...win lose or draw, Fotiu never had to have his teammates come to his rescue in any fight, pal... NEVER!
Holmgren won 1 fotiu won 2 and yes nick did beat big bad behn the life a goon and tough guy wasn’t easy back then and no one went unscathed it was savage I loved the game I wonder how many of those guys have brain problems now the shots they took they were all amazing back then it was like watching mma on ice skates
Nick is a good guy, I know in real life he brought me and girlfriend to a rangers game with free box seat. he is one of the nicest man I know.. GO BRUINS
Nick Fotiu is a great guy
Fotiu was an animal on skates! Not only a police league boxer but he could also skate. Yes, he could also BOX!
Kind of embarrassing to see Nicky on the first leg of his Cher-farewell tour. From Calgary he went to the Flyers where he did not exactly shine, then he played out the string in Edmonton.
@Jorge4402 Yeah I hear Ranger fans say Fotiu doesnt look right in anything but a Rangers jersey.
It was worse when he played for Philadelphia.
Fotiu, and Maloney probably went for beer, and wings later.
+iblockpuncheswithmyface -yea, they were previous teammates!
Thats right
Fotiu and Don Maloney were actually good friends.
Wings weren't a thing back then
Fotiu showboat he did this more than he ever fought.
You're in denial, fella.
As an Islander fan, Fotiu was the only guy I actally liked who wore a Ranger uniform...Good, gutsy guy from SI.....
Bingo......staten island is a lot like the Islanders. ...gritty hard working and no respect.....oh, that was Rodney.
Well Nicky & Tommy Laidlaw there Clebo'!!
@@Slamit88 Laidlaw was a good guy as well. And Don Maloney although he wasn’t a great GM. Maloney was always first off the bench in brawls.
Dave Brown never got physical with the Flames? hahahaaha. All the time.
Nicky always got away with shoving linesmen & ref's! lol
Always nice seeing Nick Fotiu beating up on Rangers. He ended up a Flyer anyway.
Funny... I don't remember Fotiu doing much damage to the Rangers players... but I do remember Nick beating the shit out of Flyers goons Holgrem and Wilson among others!
Hopefully in 13 yrs since post ur brain isn't worse
i remember my sister linda and her my brother in law john matthes taken me to all of nicky gme at he garden
He threw pucks in the stands after warm ups awesome
Around the two minute mark... why are they playing the theme to Hawaii Five-0?? Hawaii Five-0 is *NOT* a fight song.
Nick ''you know'' Fotiu.
I remember every other word or words that he spoke you know was you know no matter you know what you know he was talking and you know he said you know a lot.
He and I are the same age ~ that's how we NY'ers of that generation always talked. Ya know ...
I'm an islanders fan but Nicky is great too. Agree
Nicky should have had a lot more fights on his resume.

Thinking Nick wanted to lay a beating on Caulfield
hes my friends dad

Disagree....he calmed down

Holmgren damn sure did kick his ass
holgem beat fotiu??LOL..u dreaming.
