One of the best How to videos for this procedure I have seen. Good job and thank you for sharing your project and making things easier for other riders
Got it off ebay I think our bulbs are a 194 wedge. But there is a huge selection out there be sure not to get to large of one because there isnt that much space. I plan on replacing mine with with one that is 6k in color and has 5 led on it 4 in a box configuration with the fith one facing forward this should make better use of the reflector and not just look like a spot.
mine would have probably worked the same way they described but I wired mine up different. I have a double pole single throw switch that I uses to chose angel eyes or hid. Then my hi/low switch on the handle bars actuate the mirror in side the projectors to make it goe either hi/low. You might want to ask sportbikelites as this is where XD gets them from, who your warranty will be through and who you will get your tech help from.
From everything I read there not leagal either way its just a matter if the cop wants to bust you for it or not. In CA they seem to be alot more strict on it. The big thing with HIDs is alot of people have them aimed up to high. You pass a cop with and HID blinding him in the eyes and your going to get a ticket. You can take them stock reflectors off but your going to have to bake your headlight assembly or use a heat gun to take it apart and that can get messy.
Ya its reall clean. If I had to do it over again I might go leds instead of the cfl for the angel eyes but would like to see them side by side. also I had to really adjust the light as they were point down to far. but other than that they are great and I havent had any trouble with the cops either.
My kit came with both ballast for the HID and the angle eyes. Check there website listing to see whats all supplied and if you still have questions just email or call they were pretty good about responding to them.
The second video should show more detail on how to wire it to make both work in low and both work in high. with both of the lights on in low or high it helps out nicely. How much further you can see really depends on how you aim them. I went per some online videos to make sure I was legal so that I wouldn't get pulled over for blinding people or a cop. I don't need to give them any more reason to pull me over, being on a sport bike is enough reason for them already!
could you make a video on what you just explained and how you wired your lights that way? I'm the same bike this weekend and hate the stock configuration. Also does the two on all the time then both being hi/lo help with visibility and how much further you can see at night?
take a look at the 4:03 minute mark at the bottom of the scree and you can see the red and black wires connect to the a wiring harness and the small switch that turns them on and off.
They should be correctly adjusted/aimed. If not, they're in everyone's eyes. The best are the idiots that put HIDs in halogen housings(no projector) and the light goes every direction.
4 year old video and literally the shortest and most helpful video ive watched. Thanks for helping me out.

How did you get the whole new headlight assembly. Seems they only offer the kit without the new headlight assembly now

is that setup just how u get it from xdcycles with the h/l switching on both headlights or did u have to modify something to get it working that way?

Well honestly that part of the video I cut out. Give me a bit and I will load it up and it should answer your questions.
I know BKMOTO has an ungraded version to this with Version 2, but is there a cheaper place to get it fully assembled?
at the time I did this video it was mostly all do it yourself so not sure I can help.
Hey I am about to order the same lights from xdcycle and I was wondering if the come with new ballasts?
Ok awesome. Thanks
part 2 of the video is up. I also put a link up/in at the end of the video so it will directly connect to part 2 if clicked.
can you make a diagram of the angel eyes day running light swich to the hid's
where did you get your 3rd eye led?
Where do the angel eyes igniter boxes connect to

Did u say you had a coupon code for XD Cycle?
where i can buy this kit?
See the comment prior to this. I’m not sure if those places are still in business. Been a while since I did these mods
Where can I get this headlights
Where can I buy a kit like yours??
I do a lot of night driving and HID's are absolutely obnoxious to everyone on the road except the person who is using them.

nope I dont have one.

With your irrational and idiotic rants posted all across youtube, Greenmarine, it's obvious that you do need all the help you can get.
Just sayin'.
