I really just hope the game will have single player modes similar to the old Super Smash Bros Games. Like Nick All Star having it's own version of Break The Targets, Smash Run From Smash 4 on 3DS, And Multi Man Smash. I also hope the game will have a story mode similar to Subspace Emmisary from Super Smash Bros Brawl. Plenty of unlockable content like hidden characters, alternate costumes, and maybe trophies similar to the ones in Smash 4, Brawl, And Melee. All of that would be neat and would make for a far better Smash Game than Smash Ultimate (Which is worthless garbage in every sense of the word).

People watch Smash to see a competitive show of skill, and that's difficult when the competitors are worrying about not being killed by the stage most of the time.

Basically if you notice your opponent has an extremely obvious strong attack string they keep doing or a huge preference to one in neutral, you can hard read and destroy them for it
That was the entire point of the system. To cut down on BS smash (aka "strong") attack cheesing. If you do the same strong attack over & over & over, you WILL get punished for it. It forces players to ACTUALLY continually mix up their game plan.
Ren: oh, what we're gonna do to you? Ren: We're so angry, first we're gonna 0 to death your stocks out! Ren: Yeah, that's what we're gonna do. Spongebob: We don't like this, Ren and Stimpy. Stages like this are obviously catered to local play with friends, and that’s awesome! When everyone is completely different skill level you need a fun gimmicky stage like this.
Did anyone catch how Ren and Stimpy stopped Spongebob from ledgegrabbing at 3:13? I have a feeling the designers behind the game are either as time-crunched as melee devs or inspired by melee tech. Either way this is interesting to see
Ledgehogging should be in all platform fighters that let you grab ledges. it makes characters with bad recoveries able to p unish characters with good recoveries. its a good mechanic. Nowadays too many get off the ledge for free in smash and good recoveries are mostly unpunishable. Rivals of aether no ledges was a cool way to solve the issue too. Its either no ledges or ledgehogging imo that has to be implemented to fix the edgeguard and recovery issue.
Every character is chalk full of references to their source material. The devs did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. Sure voice lines would be nice but what they have so far looks promising.
well good news is that they heard this concern and plan to add voice overs in a future update since they didn't have the time to add them and wanted to prioritize the gameplay.
Now that they've showcased the Spongebob characters they're moving straight to the other 90s characters it seems... Fingers crossed we see Reptar and Helga soon
Honestly, I feel as if it adds a little more character to them, especially Ren. I mean, think about it, Ren is basically a loose cannon so it makes sorta sense. Not much for Stimpy, though.

It's launching on PC the same day as every other platform. PC was actually the lead development platform for the game. (Aka it was developed on PC & then ported to everything else).

Every character is chalk full of references to their source material. The devs did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. Sure voice lines would be nice but what they have so far looks promising.
I really hope that this game eventually gets updated to get some voice lines for the characters during battle. ;u ;
well good news is that they heard this concern and plan to add voice overs in a future update since they didn't have the time to add them and wanted to prioritize the gameplay.
Now that they've showcased the Spongebob characters they're moving straight to the other 90s characters it seems... Fingers crossed we see Reptar and Helga soon
Noticed Ren & Stimpy's eyes don't move around where Spongebob's do... Ren & Stimpy's eyes look kind of dead.
It's an update that will probably be added on release. Or in an update. They also they will add voice acting in the future.
Honestly, I feel as if it adds a little more character to them, especially Ren. I mean, think about it, Ren is basically a loose cannon so it makes sorta sense. Not much for Stimpy, though.

I was thinking that the keep it together move at 0:40 was a reference to the end of stimpys invention where ren strangles stimy after happy happy joy joy where ren destroys the happy helmet with a hammer.

I can’t WAIT To play this game on the switch….well that and PC hopefully when it’s possible.
It's launching on PC the same day as every other platform. PC was actually the lead development platform for the game. (Aka it was developed on PC & then ported to everything else).
