Excellent effort and initiative. One question - are these worms different than the Red Wigglers? Is there any compatibility issue if both types are gathered in one bed? I have tried making vermicompost with a small setup for my kitchen garden and had good results - am planning to expand it further - by starting a second set-up. It will be great to contact Ejaz sb and seek new worms from him - thanks for sharing the information!!!

@@SoilHealthpk Being my first attempt - it is as close to perfection as it could be - worms have grown more than three times since I started it five months back. Finished compost production is also at a very good rate, though I have been very selective in feeding the worms; only using kitchen waste and shredded cardboard, with 10% aged cow manure. Only hurdle I am facing is in harvesting the finished castings. I did it twice - aborted first attempt and got some in second attempt - but both times I think I damaged quite a few young worms. Smaller size of the setup and less experience with moisture level made it difficult. I am trying to find a way to harvest castings from the existing setup without causing any disturbance to the worms. I have some ideas to try - will see I again in March.

The second setup I intended to start at a little bit larger scale by inducting more worms is on hold due to my extremely busy schedule at office these days. Don't want to get worms without having everything 100% ready

dig around 2 inches around the canopy of ur tree in a circular path. Then for ur tree age, spread approx 10Kg vermicompost , and put the soil u removed , back on top of the vermicompost.
