This guy has absolutely the best tropical weather coverage. Very professional analysis. We need a more rational discourse. I will be following him for all tropical forecasts from now on. 13news please keep his feed coming to the social media sites, as not many people are staying on cable. Place advertising if you need some funding. Our society deserves his attention to detail and analysis complemented by his rational approach to weather without scaring the population.

Good luck. I live through Hurricane Andrew back in 1992. I was 12 years old. Andrew was underestimated. When Andrew hit us, the storm was a category 5. We were without power for over 4 months in Miami others in South Miami, Kendall and Homestead were devastated by Andrew for years and years. It was so bad. It was horrible without no a/c and everyday it was over 90° temperature EVERYDAY AND NIGHT. Sorry for the Caps. But this is bad. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Now living in Connecticut. But I still have very close family in South Florida like my parents. I'm here trying to send them money to buy supplies. The stores are going to be Packed. Crazy Lines, shortage on Food, Water and Medicine. More lines at the Gas Station. You got to remember Harvey hit Texas where we get gas. Imagine hurricane Irma the prices for gas will be going through the roof in Florida. I remember waiting in line for gas with my family, remember I was 12 waiting for over 5 hours just for gas. The lines were Ridiculous. I'm just trying to give a piece of my memories. Just thinking about it brings me back memories, Horrible memories. So to you sir please take care, stay safe, watch your back because the Looting is going to be crazy. So I hope you do have a Gun in hand. Because your gonna need it.
Stop the hate around the world, help each other, love they neighbor. You're going to need a lot of help after the storm. Good Luck stay safe and may God be on your side.

Another trough diving south from the Dakotas after the "big" trough lifts out will be what makes Irma turn. Of course, the questions are how strong will it be and where will it set up shop. Me too. We live on the Space Coast with children attending college in Central and North Florida. It may be time for this hen to start gathering in the chicks.

Anyone else notice it's following a similar path that Katrina followed? Katrina did make landfall in southern Florida then reformed once into the Gulf. Hopefully, this one won't be the same. The forecasts a few days ago were that it was likely to head north before making landfall in the US (if at all). Now it's looking like it's staying south.

It's an interesting and good broadcast but why do they use Norfolk as a reference point for distance from the US? It's not going there it's heading toward south Florida so why not measure from say Miami or someplace near there?
