The worst thing about Marco is its angle, it's track. It's gonna make landfall in the central LA coast and therefore its east flank is gonna pump the surge into the delta and up the mississippi river, then moving up it's gonna follow along the river, likely creating inland river floods. Laura is a totally different beast. The models are finally coming around to something concrete. They've all been shifting south and that could make the storm avoid most of the mountains of Cuba, retaining its shape and strength and therefore having the whole Gulf to strengthen. That could very well spell disaster and many models are now converging on a stronger storm. So far, the NHC is being cautious and settled around the middle of the guidance, reaching almost but not quite major hurricane strength. I on the other hand think that, considering the storm will be in a much more favorable environment than Marco is right now, with lower shear, lean on the HWRF and HMON forecast, which are the strongest of the bunch. We've seen storms do this kind of track before, spanning the whole gulf reaching major hurricane status, The Indianola Hurricane of 1875 and the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 are probably the most similar in track and situation.

Thank you for mentioning Mobile River and Mobile Bay, often over looked but, quite often a victim of storm surge
We need to all work together to help the people in the event its not weakened. This is a educational heads up. Early action increase odds of success to get to safety. Indeed if projections do proceed. storm surge is a big problem. Rally to help our fellow human when in need.
OK, I've watched a lot of rambling weather announcers on these two storms, now I'l get the clearest explanation from Tim.

Tim you are absolutely great! Small mistake though: Hanna was also a hurricane at landfall in Texas, so Isaias wasn’t our only landfalling hurricane this season so far. Greetings!

Im comfused. On accu weather it says new york is getting a tropical rainstorm for all other weather channels it says its supposed to stop midway to texas. Who do i trust?

Wrong UA-cam video. These poor souls in the Gulf Coast states are not worried about flames--that's California. It's the rain and flooding they're stressed out over.

Love his tie. I hope N.E. Texas gets some rain from at least one of these. Glad I'm not still in Houston though. I don't like hurricanes. I went through one in the 80s and it had so many tornadoes we had trees hitting the house . Scared me half to death.

@@glendalangley1877 I do mean that in a positive way for Louisiana by the way.... I know Florida and Texas are professional hurricane landfallers but Louisiana is the leader in being impacted by dang near every storm that comes into the Gulf either directly or indirectly

No worries. I didn’t take it any other way. I’m a few hours from NO but I have relatives there that lost everything in Katrina. My son and other relatives are in TX and the way they’ve got the models going now we’re all fixing to get pummeled. Hey you have to laugh in times like this. Laugh and pray. The models keep changing every hour. It’s hard to really get an aim for Marco. I know Laura is gonna hit me. Whew. Gotta wait and see. Seriously no worries. Think nothing of it.
