    I like how you deliberately use the word “us” and not “you”. Co-creation and partnership language. Becomes very inclusive and build trust as well - respecting them, that they are not doing this alone... etc.

    CC6 & CC7: Coach pauses to allow client to speak. Mirrors clients language and hand gestures. Coach uses the client's questions and words to delve deeper.

      Pause allowing the client to speak is giving space to the client. Good Observation.

    'Today you would like to figure out how to articulate yourself better that you can improve your conversation with people. And right now you are feeling a little blurry...hope it gets sharper and to find a way or something you can do to express yourself.' --- Reconfirming the understanding of the Coaching Agreement and also determining the outcome at the end of the conversation.

    Coach ask questions to help client to brainstorm more options to move forward. Coach also helps to paraphrase and summarize the options that client has generated. Coach pauses to provide client the space and time to think through other possible options. Coach facilitates client to prioritise the options (facilitating client to evaluate the pros and cons of each option, which will be the most important ones to work with.

    Let's Practice Together CC6 & CC7 (10:12 - 13:12): Good use of pause (paired with nodding that is reassuring). Followed by asking 'So is there a thought that's coming to your mind?'

    • @limlikhee6305
      @limlikhee6305 3 роки тому +2

      Agree that the nodding is reassuring, and also gives a sense of the coach's presence

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому +2

      I like that observation of noticing the body gestures of the nodding to create a space of invitation for the client to explore. the nodding also pre-frame the client that we are going to dive deeper.

  • @linteo5000

    Let's practice CC6&7 Part 3: Even during long pauses, client maintains a neutral expression, does not makes her feel pressured to speak but to let her take her time to think/reflect. Overall coach has demonstrated to focus on inquiry and reflects back what the client has said using client's language/words, instead of offering his opinions or imposing solutions to the client.

    Let's practice CC6&7: 13:12 - 16:12 : Coach not only listens attentively to what client says but also notices her expressions e.g. giggle and laughter. He validated with the client what the laughter is about.

    Let's Practise together CC6&CC7: Coach paused to give client more time to reflect, and said “mm” sometimes to prompt client to explain further. Coach also “chunked down” in asking “What were your thoughts around that to help you bridge that gap?”

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому +2

      Great work. The verbal fillers like 'mm' acts as a way to invite the client into the conversation to dive deeper.

      “What were your thoughts around that to help you bridge that gap?” -- Yes, and also I feel that this can fall under CC7 Evokes Awareness as well. The coach asks questions regarding the client's way of thinking and current beliefs. What does everyone think?

    Let's practice CC6&7: 10:12 - 13:12 : Coach is giving space and pauses for the client to reflect and think through what she exactly is she struggling and feeling in her. There were no judgements even when the client felt "stuck" or struggle to explain herself to Jedi.

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому +1

      Holding the space for the client is important to allow the client space to fully express herself

  • @linteo5000
    @linteo5000 3 роки тому +2

    Leap: Coach affirms the client "yeah, there is definitely still hope, I can definitely understand you...." as a form of showing encourgement, presence and being there with client - creates a safe and trusting space for client to share and this is a form of partnering with client to design "going forward".

  • @DK-qg4uv

    Leap: coach repeated the word “pause” which client used.
    Coach encouraged the client to “think further, prioritise” by asking client to delve deeper “practice more in which area” and coach asked “in what order” and “is that all”
    Coach affirmed clients behaviour (laugher)

    • @jedidiahalex2987

      This is an example of designing goals and actions and helping client to learn more about their identified action steps.

    Let's practice CC6&7: 13:12 - 16:12 : Coach paraphrases and reflect back what the client is saying. Coach smiles when she smiles to mirror her expression to try to make her feel comfortable and safe. Coach confirms/validates with client what he is sensing, and not just listening to what the client is saying - this shows to the client the coach is paying attention to the client. Coach seeks to ask the client "who are you originally" to help client to understand what she is saying when she commented who she is originally -this helps client evoke awareness and reflect what she is actually conveying.

    • @hazellow463
      @hazellow463 3 роки тому

      Great observation. Paraphrasing demonstrated Presence CC5

    • @celesteaurora4722
      @celesteaurora4722 3 роки тому

      Great observation. Definitely supported the client to evoke more awareness. Noticed the smile when the question "who are you originally" was reflected back to the client, which made her have more awareness on what she said :p

  • @linteo5000
    @linteo5000 3 роки тому +3

    Let's practice CC6&7: Part 3: Coach ask questions to help client expand her thoughts, chunking sideways...with the intent to encourage client to explore further on what she has said...to lead client on an self exploratory session about the issue and generating her own solutions.

  • @YUVANMOHAN2009
    @YUVANMOHAN2009 3 роки тому +4

    CC6 & CC7 (Part 3): Coach was able to rephrase client's sharing to structure's client's thought process. Coach uses the same scenario as the client shared but asked client to view it from a different perspective. Even though client initially mentioned that she was not able to articulate well, coach, asked her to consider a scenario in the past that she was able to do a similar job.

  • @linteo5000
    @linteo5000 3 роки тому +3

    Leap: Coach checked in client..."practice more in terms of which area" as a way to validate and test her line of thought. And followed with "how would you sequence that" to further evoke awareness and testing line of thought on the additional option she has thought of. Coach said " I can see a little bit more laughter now" and check in by asking what is happening there for you - to help evoke awareness from the client of her reactions.

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому

      Yep this is a tie in to the learnings and evoking awareness for the client.

  • @DK-qg4uv
    @DK-qg4uv 3 роки тому +4

    CC6&7: Jedi made some inquiry abt what the client have said "i type out what i want to say first, before saying it out...", instead of providing suggestion immediately which is good because that allows the client to voice out further and knowing them better.

    • @hazellow463
      @hazellow463 3 роки тому +2

      The coach evoke the client awareness in this case to give her new discovery on her own

    Let's Practice Together CC8: Very clearly outlined plan/actions to move forward, including clear prioritisation. I liked how the accountability part came in as well - the questioning of 'would this be the best for you?' when the Client said they would keep themselves accountable was important. Client was then able to pivot and tap on team members instead.

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому

      Great observation on the accountability process. The sense of client autonomy in the design.

  • @DK-qg4uv
    @DK-qg4uv 3 роки тому +4

    CC6&7: There's about 10 sec pause around 19.31 min mark and then the client mentioned about "i'm not so sure also, where else can i do? what else is still missing?...". That's when the client shared about her uncertainty in the missing thing she's looking out for, after which Jedi followed up with leading qns which indirectly making the client to realize that what she need is a "pause", in order to process her thoughts & express herself better.

  • @estheryong2838
    @estheryong2838 3 роки тому +2

    CC 8: 23:11 - 32:55 : Coach inviteed the client to list the action plan and then asked to prioritize the actions plan so be able to move forward. Also, coach asked a question about what the client has known about herself during this particular session. Lastly, coach asked the client how to accountable for herself to ensure she will do what she has planned out for. Coach also gave a lot of affirmation and support of what the client understood about herself. Last, coach inviteed the client to do the check point herself to strengthening what she has learnt in this session.

    CC6 & CC7 (Part 2): Coach maintained a steady facial reaction as client was sharing something vulnerable. He noticed the client's laugh and further queried on it. He asked the client to generate solutions when some of the methods were not working. Coach delved deeper into her proposed solution and tried to understand her weakness.

    • @hazellow463

      Good observation. Keep it up

    • @DK-qg4uv
      @DK-qg4uv 3 роки тому +1

      Agree. It's important to be aware of our expression as a coach, so that we can react accordingly to what the client is saying and assure the client that it's safe enough to share about his/her inner thoughts.

  • @jananiv7548
    @jananiv7548 3 роки тому +3

    Let's Practice Together CC6 & CC7 (16:12 - 21:42): The coach picked up on the 'who I am originally part' and delved further into it by posing a question. Thought this was good because client then responded saying that they are actually still that way; seems like a moment of self-awareness for me.

  • @jananiv7548
    @jananiv7548 3 роки тому +5

    Let's Practice Together CC6 & CC7 (13:12 - 16:12): It was good to enquire into the laughter, and i like how the coach's demeanour is consistent, without judgement that gives coachee the confidence to continue sharing. Mirroring the language (e.g. using the term 'bottomline') was also very helpful in this context, given that coachee's specific concern was on how she articulates herself and making her feel heard is important. Enquiring more into the techniques and why they worked/did not work also seems to contribute to developing that self awareness.

    • @YUVANMOHAN2009
      @YUVANMOHAN2009 3 роки тому +3

      Coach's facial expression was consistent, even though the client was sharing her vulnerable side, it would be easy to show, pity or sadness for the client.

    • @jedidiahalex2987
      @jedidiahalex2987 3 роки тому +2

      Thats great observation, coach can inquire more into the laughter and explore more. The idea behind question and reflecting back to the client is to bring to awareness for the client and unravel a deeper sense of self.

  • @limlikhee6305
    @limlikhee6305 3 роки тому +5

    Let's Practise together CC6&CC7 (13:12-16:12): Looks like coach caught the client’s change in intonation in “the way? I put it”, and also noticed the client’s eye movement (which suggests client is trying to construct her thoughts, instead of tapping on her memory). Noticed that coach tried to repeat the sentence and asked for client’s confirmation that that was what she wanted to express. Coach also then “chunked to the right” to ask the “what else” qns.

    • @jananiv7548
      @jananiv7548 3 роки тому +1

    Let's practise together CC6&CC7 (16:12-21:42) In the last part, I felt that coach asked a few qns that were on the surface, and too difficult for client to respond, like “so who are you originally”, “what are some ways you can think of to help you to be able to articulate better?”
    For the 1st qn, I think another way to phrase it could be “so how do you express yourself usually?” For the 2nd qn, I felt that instead of having a pause, coach could ask a follow-up qn.

    - listened to client's giggle;
    - used client's words to summarise;
    - give sufficient space for the client to come up with many ideas;
    - continue enquiring the clients anything else;
    - noticed the client's laughters and relaxed;
    - tapped into previous experiences and resources;
    - a very good question: "what did you learn about yourself?"
    Note: The ride is a metaphor, maybe exploring the metaphor could be an option: what role is the client in the ride, what kind of the ride experience, and what can help to make the ride as the client want...

    Coach gave silence and space for the client to think.
    Coach followed the client's flow and further explored based on the client's keywords (e.g. who are you originally).
