Doing my research along with watching these documentaries has shown me that very few of these castles made it through the centuries unscathed for one reason or another. It's fortunate that the government had surveyed this Castle shortly before it was destroyed and gave the people who restored it a lot to go by for putting it back together. Thanks again for bringing me, I live in Detroit Michigan and it's a long swim.
Emily , thanks for sharing the story of this wonderful Castle ! Thoroughly enjoyed it ! Wonderfully shot , the views are Amazing . Have a wonderful week ! 🇺🇲 / 🏴 ❤️🤍💙
Emily, thanks so much for all the history, pics, and aerials. I love this castle, it is a perfect castle in a perfect setting. It cannot get better! This summer I plan to visit most castles that are open; including, Campbell, Lochleven, Balvenie, Huntly, Tolquhon, Dunnottar, Aberdour, Tantallon, Dirleton, Craigmillar, Dunstaffnage, Carnasserie, Sween, Rothesay, Caerlaverock, and Bothwell. I am exited that some of Bothwel and Caerlaverock will be accessible. I am so grateful for your videos when researching these and other sites! You are an angel! I will call you Saint Emily. Thanks!
Great video of this amazing Scottish castle. Love your narrative about the history behind it too. I visited the castle in 2015 but I didn't know all the history about it. Great job! New subscriber and will follow every episode here after... Thanks for sharing! Keep it up! 👍
I heard the government had done a survey on the castle a couple of years before its destruction and those plans were a big help in bringing the fortification nearly back to its original dimensions.
Thanks Castle Girl. A beautiful castle inside and out.

That part of Scotland was once the Kindom of Dal Riata
There’s 50 rotting heads on the battlements. And one guard’s just like Goddamnit how come I always get wall duty, it really stinks up there
