Shattered Focus Productions the blood is due to an in game ability, his ability allows him to increase his blood level kinda? Like bloodlust, increase attack speed and movement speed.

FYI: The guy with the mask is indeed a sadistic maniac, Jhin. He often thinks of his 'work' (murdering people) as art. He's also obsessed with the number 4. In the game he has to reload his weapon after every 4th shot (but his 4th bullet is by far the most dangerous, always indicated by his weapon's red colour.)
At 12:06 he draws his weapon
At 12:25 he shoots for the first time
At 12:40 he fires the second and third bullet
But he never fires a fourth time.. instead he bows at 12:58, hiding his weapon behind his back. But its red glow indicates that he hasn't finished his artwork yet.

The guy with the spinning axes has an ingame skill called Blood Rush.
Lore wise he's even suppose to sweat blood from the thrill of being in battle.

The people you see here:
Khada Jhin (stage name, real name unknown), an Ionian mass murderer and psychpath who enchants his bullets to make the blood of the people he shoots look like flowers until you touch them. He calls it art. the bear traps you mentioned are called Lotus traps because of their look when closed.
Draven, an Noxian gladiator/reckoner (how they are called in Noxus) and brother of Darius, one of the 3 leaders of Noxus. He is the boss of the fighting arenas in all of Noxus.
Irelia, an Ionian girl fighting in the war vs Noxus with an ancient technique, using her swords by "dancing" with them.
Camille, an augmented woman from Piltover. Why Jhin is in Piltover is unclear, however she was the one sent to get him. Many years ago she got augmented with Hextech, making it so that she would stop getting older while becoming the best weapon she could be. Now she's the leader of the secret service of Piltover, which are the people you see with her.
Riven, a former blademaster in the Noxian army, now living in exile in the land she once was sent to conquer, Ionia. Why she is in a noxian fighting pit in this cinematic is unclear, it will get revealed tho because this entire cinematic is canon future lore of League of Legends and Runeterra. The blade Draven throws at her is hers.
Sion, big dude with the axe, a noxian juggernaut, revived by ancient magic in order for him to serve Noxus and given strength and the ability to not die that easily again.
Karma, the lady in green, an Ionian spirit and one of the most powerful beings, if not the most powerful being, in Ionia. She's as old as time and can do far more than shown in the cinematic.
Akali, the ninja, a former member of the Kinkou order and now somewhat a vigilante, even tho she still has good connections to the order and her master, who is the leader of the order. She goes where she wants and does what she wants as long as it isn't hurting anyone she doesn't want to get hurt.
Yasuo, the Ronin (and part time Dj xD ), a samurai roaming Ionia after he got accused of murdering the elder he was supposed to protect because the elder was killed by a wind blade and he was the only one known for wielding such a weapon. He didn't do it but when he wanted to run away his brother was in his way eager to kill him. He killed his own brother and is now searching for a way to redeem himself and for the true murderer. What he doesn't know is that it was no murder. The elder tried to destroy Rivens Wind Blade because she asked him to and got killed in the process while the blade remained how it was.
Kennen, the gremlin.. uhm, i mean Yordle, a member of the Kinkou and wielder of powerful lightning magic.

@@kitkatkitz you are wrong. Awaken is canonically 100% correct. The Zed Comic that came out more than a year later for example revealed why Jhin was in Piltover and that the fight with Camille happened. Right now there are canon stories on Universe that explain that as we speak the second invasion of Ionia is basically happening. The latest story is about a group of Noxians working in the shadows while searching for Riven to bring her back to Noxus while the main forces of the Noxian Army gather at the place where Syndra was sleeping/captured.
The entire cinematic is canon, however parts of it are not explained yet.

At 20:33 I'm truly amazed how you were able to determine the character's personality since indeed he is a very sadistic person, in the game lore he basically sees death as the most beautiful work of art, that's why the beautiful shots when the soldiers are exploding and when he is shooting towards the girl since it's seen from his perspective, his name is Jhin, the woman in that scene is called Camille she is half robot.

@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yeah something worth mentioning is that Jhin in-game has 4 shots in his pistol, the 4th one being by far the most powerful, and when he has 1 left his gun turns red. If you look closely, when he is bowing at Camille (The cyborg police girl), you can see that the pistol he's holding in his back has turned red, so the next shot is the powerful one. It really makes me want to know what happens after.

I didn't notice the blood on his face and that it was actually there in the scenes before the headbutt, but was in sequence supposed to be after the headbutt

In the scene with Jhin and Camille, you see her eyes swap from blue, to orange, and then back to blue. That is her (passive) Adaptive Defense which gives her a shield against either magic (blue), or physical (orange) damage. That little swap was her trying to figure out if she should have her defenses up against magic or physical attacks. It's another little neat nod they tuck in.
19:40 in the game Draven has a skill called Blood Rush which makes him excited and attack faster so i think this is the only reason why the blood was there lol.
There's two more League of Legends videos I'd recommend for a fun watch.
1) Burning Bright, for a complete change of pace and style. It's essentially an anime opening used to advertise a new set of character cosmetics, but it's basically sailor moon lol. This video then basically got two more sequels: A New Horizon, and Light and Shadow.
2) Get Jinxed, it's different and it was the first music video that they've ever done I think, and on its release it created a bunch of hype for the music and character introduction.

(I've got to say, your eye for detail is amazing. I've seen this several times, and you've pointed out things I never noticed, such as one of the traps being visible at the beginning, and while I saw the blood on the gladiator guy, I didn't see the lack of it afterwards, and put together that they moved the scene. Very cool of you. Also, with that 'make every frame a painting' comment? The frame of the killer bowing while the explosions go off in the background and the blade-legged woman coming for his head is now my desktop background. So that frame was certainly beautiful enough for me to keep.)

That shot of Jhin bowing before Camille lives absolutely rent free in my head. The composition, the meaning, the palette, I get goosebumps EVERY TIME I watch it. Which is a lot.
Also the way he is bowing has the shape of a 4

I absolutely love the gladiator fight with Riven, especially when draven starts fighting; every hit has so much impact that you can almost feel it. This is by far my favorite league video

The amount of detail is insane in this video, in that gladiator arena on the other side from the guy with axes sat, u can barely see a man with white hair in the background (that is Swain, the general og noxus. Noxus is the region that spesific fight is taking place) next to Swain u can barely see another man with a lot of armour, that is the Brother to the dude with the axes. And u can see him raising his arm to cheer for his littlebrother.. its insane details

@@ShatteredFocusProductions Yasuo was accused of killing Elder Souma, his master for teaching him how to fight with wind. When Noxus came to his home country of Ionia, laying out a war, Yasuo left his post thinking he could of actually done something. Instead, he found a field of Noxus and Ionian bodies killed by something that a sword couldn't do. He went back home and the remaining students drew swords on him saying he left his post after killing Souma with his wind techniques. He ran away when he thought about the killer being free and had to kill the people who tracked him, which unfortunately included his own brother.
I recommend reading the 3-part stories Confessions of a Broken Blade or listening to them being read as they included a character that's also in the Awaken video, Riven the Exile. She also has a explanation for the field Yasuo saw in her own backstory.

This «Every frame is a screensaver» is verbatim my thoughts. After like thirtieth replay, yeah%) It is possibly the best description for the entire cinematic, videowise. And soundwise I like how all the footage feels like a perfect flow for the music. So it is not the most popular Riot cinematic, but it's always in my heart.

I know someone gave some insights on Jhin (the piano guy) but I really love this champion and his segments in this video so here's some lore/backstory
Jhin is a killer, obsessed with art. For him, it not the kill that matters, but how the kill is done. For him, this is a show. At the start, you can see he already killed everyone in the theatre, and Camille and her troops coming to investigate. As he set all the traps, which one of the soldiers stepped into, he is ready for her. In the game, Jhin can make 4 shots, before he needs to reload his gun. And the fourth shot is the most powerful. In the video, we can see him shooting 3 times, while Camille rushing to him, triggering all of his traps. And finally, she is going straight into him. She can't change the direction. He got her where he wants her. And he bows to his "audience", with the gun loaded with the fourth shot behind his back, as the show is about to end, as she is about to die.

The "gremlin" is named Kennen.
He is part of a race called Yordles.
He is a lightning magic user but I'm sure that was obvious. He is a hit and run style of fighter.
"Got distracted" me too hahahaha the scenes are just captivating
The girl in red and black is Irelia.
The small gremlin that you are talking about is Kennen. With that skill it's supposed to make him fast while electrecuting those enemies while he passes. The big spark is his ultimate skill that has an Area of Effect that damages around and inside it.
The girl in green light skill is Karma.
When the giant (Sion) smashes his axe to Irelia, Karma covers her with her 3rd skill that intends to be a shield and fasten everyone that surrounds it.
The one with the tornado is Yasuo.
The one in green ninja suit that jumps on the giants face is Akali.
Akali ang Kennen are ninjas.
The girl that has the ability like in the Attack on Titan is Camille. Legs are made of blade made possible by the Hextech stone that activates any mechanisms in Piltover. And in the scene you can see Camille attacking Jhin, because he's been tagged as a criminal. So she's catching him.
On the arena with the gladiators, ithe guy's Draven and girl's Riven.
Riven uses a broken sword. Draven uses a blade but it's not a sword. He's suppose to throw it coz he's a Marksman.

am I the only one that notices Riven's calf flexing when she's being raised up? I thought that was a VERY interesting detail that really gives it more life
Fun video! Thanks for pointing out so many cool little details, like the stubble, sweat, and Draven's bloody nose -- things a viewer might not notice consciously, yet they serve the scene subconsciously. Thanks to your analysis, I also noticed that Riven (woman in chains) tightens her calf muscles in the last second, when her platform rises, suggesting readiness to spring into action -- but there's a cut before she moves, creating tension from the missing payoff. And later you can see a ripple flow from the muscles of her shoulder and down her tricep, a split second before she mic-drops her chains. This, in combination with the music, sets up a subconscious visually guided saccade in the viewer's eye and brain, followed by a payoff (she drops the chains). So many beautiful little touches!

What the fuck, I've played the game for over 9 years and even I didn't realise that the green thing is most probably karma's shield/speed buff onto him.
A very drunk and semi wise man once told me "Nobody has the same set of eyes". You can't expect to notice it all and that goes even further in detailed pieces of work like this!
You mentioned sound design, and I think it's likely the reason their sound design is so good is because they make a very popular video game, with a lot of very important sound cues. They're already used to paying attention to the details of what sounds you should hear and how important they are, plus all the characters already have SFX associated with their attacks and abilities so they can use those if they want to cue the senses of players even more than normal viewers; but still they're distinct, well-designed sounds because they need to be in a game where there can be a dozen things happening at once on screen.
Explanation to the 20:20 ,when Riven(female character with the sword) blocked both spinning axes from Draven, he dashed under the sword and got his nose cut, cause you can see some of the blood going out after he catches them, which happens after the dash. He didn't have the blood because you can see his coat touching his nose and see some blood on the coat which is a nice detail. When she did headbutt him, she hit his forehead and not his actual nose.
Love the point about the blood on his face and agree with it. I think they somewhat justify it though by the fact that the damage that Sion (big guy) takes from kennen (gremlin/gizmo) is carried over to Draven (bleeding guy), similar to how they were carrying motion from scene to scene.
S B Yea it was blended very well! Honestly it really doesn’t take away from the overall quality of the video ether. The damage carrying over too is a solid work around tho

When you said one vs many fight are emotion based, I immediately thought of the John Carter fight scene
The sadistic guy is actually super interesting. All the colors you see are from his perspective. He believes in beauty within bloodshed. All the purple smoke you see are actually just normal explosions to everyone else in the theater while the flower petals coming up from the traps the troops are standing on is their blood and guts being blown up. There's your private ryan moment of oh god, were really doing it. (This is easy to tell based on Jhin (the characters) reveal video with images of people he shot having blossoms growing out of them (their guts) and really lets you know, oh dear, much more to this than I thought.)
