Nah the original version doesn't have same story with the first one(before redraw) but the both have same itensions in comedic way. But after redraw they have same story with little story development but much darker than before
The Cosmic Gator fight was amazing, but part of me still wanted to see the table talk. Though it probably would’ve just been like their final talk in the webcomic
The original version seems a lot cooler to me, but I guess it's not all just all about the epic standoffs, especially when it's kind of obvious at this point that no matter how powerful the villain is, Saitama isn't going to really be challenged by them.
its trash not gonna lie, not because of the talk no jutsu but bc the fight is mediocre and so short compared to all previous fights, like how can you make garou vs saitama the final of the arc the most anticipated fight of the current manga and make it somewhat "cool" and super short? Exactly. Hopefully anime will add their table negotiations after their fight is over in the new version. Seems like a good fit instead of straight up “go on, change the past” from out of nowhere.
I think it'd be great if they had that conversation and by the end of the chapter Garou takes god's power. If Saitama words would mark Garou, his change after losing to Saitama and give it up being a monster would be less sudden

Etc, etc. It goes down the shonen route, basically But you're right, the manga version is essentially just a toned-downed version of the og version until the fights and Murata's godly art

I thought it fit much more with their characters and the story. Oh well i guess the author changed his mind and chose a different direction and if hes happier with this version of the story i cant hate i still enjoy it as it is now but i really wonder about what could have been.
I really hope they add the therapy talk in the anime as a reference to the manga and show what was actually going to happen and what caused cosmic garou
I don't think a writer should ever change their artistic rendering of what they have created because of "community backlash". Social media causes too many problems. I agree with you
Honestly, I was kind of hoping for the conversation we have seen that Saitama is a guy who’s willing to talk to people before punching, and it fits well with his character we seen the man listen to people complaint before because there’s never really anyone to listen to them so I thought this was just in character I mean don’t get me wrong I still love the redrawn of this. But again the media will be the media.
😳 wtf!? you're kidding right??? the saitama character is an absent-minded idiot who punches first and thinks last. he's like the hulk "saitama smash"!!! and, the man has a brain that's the size of a peanut. 😆 1. remember when saitama punched marugori the giant and his body fell into the city which probably killed thousands of people and caused billions of dollars in damage? 2. how about all the number of people saitama helped kill and the building he helped destroy during his fight with awakened garou? 3. how about all of the number of people saitama almost killed during his first punch with cosmic garou - blast said that their punch could have destroyed the earth? 4. how about all the billions of people on other planets who died when saitama's and cosmic garou's punch ripped a small hole in the universe. saitama? 5. and let's not forget about the time he tried to bully and intimidate tatsumaki. instead of preventing damages, his interactions causes billions of dollars in damage.
Completely agree. On one hand, Cosmic Fear mode is pretty cool, but on the other hand, talking things out would be development for both Garou and Saitama.
OH MY GOD So THAT'S why i couldn't comprehend what was going on at the time, i actually read it before being confused the week after when everything changed. I actually thought i dreamt about the chapter and that it didn't actually exist lmao
Honestly, i really liked the way it was going, mainly because during all of those chapters, I've felt that a major god movement was being hyped up, with the moon looking upon the whole fight between Saitama and monster garou. That house in the middle of nowhere felt so out of place that i only could think that it was a trap for the two of them, that would activate once they finished talking things out. It could have even given place to the cosmic garou fight, being that the result of the house trap working out, or something like that.
I always wonder if Saitama was able to see God's interaction with Garo since he was able to see God when he was with Flashy Flash and Monaco. Also being able to break into Phoenix man's for lack of a better word mental void/domain expansion. Also fight after the redraw was fn epic. Giving us a chance to see Garo's future potential if he ever becomes an allie to saitama.
re-do's really feel like when you play an ai dungeon game, and you let the ai just come up with most if it, and then making it re do all of it, its cool what it comes up with, but then what could have lead to other story building is just deleted for something different to story build onto instead. @@13.ghaniziyadsagiansyah66 You can force your way in AI dungeon you can say "Nah now i have dragon ball Z powers" and AI just gonna give up and play along.
imagine in the anime, they showed the deleted chapter and did a rewind time thingy and showed the manga version, so its like another time line and that showing timelines that saitama doesn't lose.
The therapy session followed by another fight would've been the best course, doubtlessly. Subversion is most of the appeal of the story. I doubt One and Murata just decided to change it, because changes rarely are so drastic. I can only see two possibilities: Saitama lecturing Garou and it ending it right there, or a lecture and then a fight with the visually stunning effects. Crybabies certainly played a role in this.
I thought this chapter was a fever dream, like some sort of mandela effect. I like the idea of God character just witnessing original timeline to find Garous emotional weak point, and erasing the original timeline to skew how the events play out. Like, it's not just going back in time like Saitama does later on, where the alternate reality continues to exist, nah - he straight up Laplace Demon that shit and creates a rift that anyone who hasn't witnessed the manga release through the eyes of said god (aka the weekly release) won't be aware of God's interference, effectively putting the weekly readers in the same level as Blast and other defenders. How dope is that.
I forgot about this redraw. It never held any negative fellings. I actually thoufht it was a setup to make the fight even more personal and intense. ONE ZMand Murata must have had their reasons. It could always come back later now that the series has gine multidimensional.. Oh well. The redraws still went great.
well murata and one will often release 3 different entries either expanding on the scenes or completely going a different route which is why pre release chapters have been labeled like 12.2 or 39.3
What if it was intentional? Since the timeline broke into 2 during the time travel, murata and one might have something coming up later in the manga that suits the purpose of this alternate ending. Edit: I think your explenation is probably more accurate
I also didn't have any problem with the 1st version. People forget that one punch man is not another one of the generic manga about good and evil and epic fights. It's a manga that treds the line between gag and serious. I appreciate and enjoyed the 2nd version no doubt, actually more then the 1st but the 1st is what I expected from one. Those who expected epic fights don't really get what one's philosophy is with one punchman. I won't be surprised if it comes out that one was against the change and it was murata who insisted on the change. I like the version where when Saitama wants to he can finish off anyone with one serious punch. Someone without insane healing factor like Boros surviving Saitama's punch kinda kills the meaning behind his name of one punch man. One could argue that during the fight with cosmic garou Saitama didn't use his serious punch when he punches Garou as he didn't want to kill him but such a fight brought one punch man very close to the being a generic hero v villain fight. Even though I liked the 2nd version more, I still don't wanna compromise the main philosophy of one punchman for anything, if one punchman isn't unique then it is not one punchman at all.
I think you said it pretty well. Sure, the fight was epic and stunning to see... But it felt wayy to close to becoming a generic shonen manga, which is not why I read OPM.
I always kinda figured the Serious Series: Serious Table Flip would come out in the talk no jutsu session that never happened. Instead, he not only table flipped an entire fucken moon. He sneezed the atmosphere off of Jupiter. *Accidentally.*
No wonder people hated the second season. People dont want in depth character development, or incredible writing, they just wanna see another person get killed by a man that is too powerful
@@Mr.Mister412 that's exactly the point OP is making; the writing in season two was exactly the same as season one, but because the pretty effects weren't as pretty, everyone bashed it. The majority don't want a decent story, they just want super cool set pieces. Example A: Demon Slayer.
got redrawn cause peopled wanted their serious table flip that was promised to us years before in the web comic, and with the talk no jutsu we weren't going to get that, its a very good thing that it got redrawn
But what about the other chapters? I thought it was Murata and One wanting to make some changes thinking it need more nutmeg. Honestly they could’ve kept the scene as one of Saitama punches sent Garuo into spirit dimension with that house scene. The scene change as God interrupt and plays out the similar give in scene to Garuo. But anyway, it was going to happen as we know there was chapter changes from the web comic and the manga itself lol. Either way fans shouldn’t be that mad as this is way better than attack on titan. Also i like both web comic and manga. Each giving it its own flavor and the manga offer the BOLD flavor of them all. Come on, serious sneeze, thats gold epic scene there. And if any complaint needed for that arc was the no serious headbutt and I am not running mad from that.
Nah, this chapter is cannon. "god" character went back in time to give garou a boost after seeing Garou get clowned on. The moon is the focus of the final page. I wasn't surprised at all when the next chapter went back in time when the redraw was released. But if it really is just a redraw then that's a shame.
I believe ONE and Murata were trolling with the adorable ending. One factor is that the web comics shows garo coming from the sky and saitama says “something is coming”. This scene was made in the manga in the redrawn I.e. the cosmic mode chapter
I was re reading the one punch man monster arc and there are inconsistancies. Bang claims in earlier chapters before meteor that he owned a dojo passed down from family. monster garou arc he opened up a dojo after losing to his brother. Redrawn A class swordsman stopped Amai mask from killing controlled mercenaries. Original chapter Amai mask killed them. Then when tornado was fighting Psychos, Amai mask said he couldn't "save them" and still killed them.
I was curious to see what the conversation would turn out like as I always thought that the true nature of Saitama's power was rooted in his wisdom. I saw myself in Garou to some degree, but also in Saitama in his peacefull and wise side. I wanted these two similar, yet different sides of myself talk about the true nature of power. Both of them got powerfull, but I was interested to see what was One's take on what Garou lacked to understand. I wanted depth, but people wanted to see things go boom, which is cool and all, but...it's was good the way it was as well. It's a shame people didn't appreciate that moment. I think some people get too many expectations instead of just being there for the ride.
i think it's funny because i bet the creator was like "well fine if you don't want to know garou's motives and true ideals then here" knowing damn well that just because some kids cried about it now we won't know more about garou for quite some time we may have missed some very important info i don't even read it but i guarantee that the fans of the manga will regret this big time later on
I read both and didn't realise that it was meant to be the same chapter, aways got confused about it, but tought both events were cannon and the place where I was reading just messed up the upload, pretty sure both could happen, garou saitama talk doesn't go right, then they fight again
happy i found this channel he isnt on the haters side he's looking out the box and telling us it would have went the same way no matter what overall making both sides agree with eachother
The reason why I didn't like the manga before the redraw was that I thought it was completely different from the route of Onepunch-Man (One) but hey I was too quick to judge it was awesome. Also I came to know that the manga version is going to be different compared to other versions and I am all here for it.
i remembered reading this chapter in a website, and then the next week they had the same chapter but with a different outcome, then i realized something was wrong this video pretty much explained what happened
Deadass I couldn't find out what happened to this chapter and didn't see anyone talking about online so when it just disappeared from the internet I was confused as fuck.
Holy crap I totally forgot about this chapter. I remember reading it and then reading the next chapter and being like, "whaaa? what is going on?", then going on to the read rest of the manga and not knowing why that chapter ended the way it did. I didn't know anything about the fan reception and that stuff. In my head I attributed that chapter to some multiversal time travel shit. I thought it might come back to play a part in the overall story some how... I now know I was wrong lol
I think that site down is mean to be a "shout out" (not sure if this is the correct terms) of Baki final fight (ch 219), where the mc beat the strongest man in the world in the most ridiculous that you can't even imagine.
Yknow I always wondered what happened to this. I remember seeing this, and thought it fits the atmosphere of One Punch very well, which is more comical than just a power show.
Completely agree. In order to truly love something you must be able to see its flaws. Extremist fans don't 'love', they idolize, and that makes a huge difference.
I had hoped that with the time travel bs we would go back to the old chapter, closing the loop, maybe saitama would think what he could do differently to prevent deaths: and of course that would be talking it out
I thought garou would realise something or god would talk to him jn between his therapy session which might change him and cause him to once again rampage
tbh i feel like they didnt have to delete that chapter and could have build off of it. Like at first they have a convo sorta like in the webcomic where garou and saitama are taking about their ideals with the famous "its a hobby" line and eventually garou flips out at saitama cuz they cant see eye to eye or he cant stand the absurdity of it causing them to fight but then saitama just punches him tellin him to calm down whcih leads to the scene of him flying out of his monster body and "taking" gods hands
Is there any precedent of a mangaka simply releasing a rewritten chapter in the jump magazine at the very next release? Like I would imagine from the editor to the top management screaming "He wanna do what??" I know sometimes mangaka would do some corrections, but they would do it on the tankoubon/volume version
I like the first one better, is more inline with the webcomic and keep the focus on Garou. The Cosmic Garou fight was cool but only that. Specially since it added elements of time travel that I don't think needed to be there. And that pretty much made the focus be on God instead of Garou when this arc was all about Garou specially at the end. Whereas I do like the what the manga did I think the webcomic was better because of the focus on Garou
huh, I think I remember reading the original version, because I don't remember reading the updated version. I didn't really even think about it until now, but I probably should have felt some confusion when garou's sit down was suddenly turned into a massive fight again between him and Saitama
actually, thinking back on it now, I think I felt like I missed a chapter, couldn't find it, and just went "well frick, guess I'll have to continue then."
I read the webcomic and I may have forgotten most of it, but the 1st one is pretty much how the story originally went. Saitama literally goes "Oh, I get it. You're a monster who wanted to be a hero." And it was fine.
I didn't even know about the original version, I catch up to the manga once every few months, I think the sit down was great and way more like the webcomic, OPM should be comedy first. The space fight was amazingly drawn but it went for too long and then there was time travel and blegh. It feels like One and Murata had a sitdown with the editor or something telling them they need to put more action in the story.

Instead you got table flip
The original version seems a lot cooler to me, but I guess it's not all just all about the epic standoffs, especially when it's kind of obvious at this point that no matter how powerful the villain is, Saitama isn't going to really be challenged by them.
Yeah its some point when garou want to say the dark side of his life but saitama gonna say about some better bullshit words of wisdom
Exactly
its trash not gonna lie, not because of the talk no jutsu but bc the fight is mediocre and so short compared to all previous fights, like how can you make garou vs saitama the final of the arc the most anticipated fight of the current manga and make it somewhat "cool" and super short? Also garous personality isnt like that it never was like that even now as job hunter garou
i mean that was literally the purpose of garou but like the author jus gave him super cool epic emotional power buff
@@daniel1RM to me even garou not become cosmic fear he is still a great character to be even he become so much stubborn
He just need a guidance to be return to humanity and get how be happy even society did not give him credits of being hero
I was excited about the therapy session ngl.
I was literally so exhausted from all the action that I needed some downtime. But then it just became more action instead.
Wish they just completely followed the webcomic for this fight.
Had the perfect blend of comedy and seriousness IMO.
I love the original version but the story changes so its much as powerful
Until they undid all character development with time travel.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p What development tho everyone fucking died
@@johnrenwelmauro2387 Of Garou and Saitama.
The story changed? What does that even mean? Are you saying pre/post Cosmic Garou fight is like, a different story/genre? Because I'm telling you right now its the same lmao. Big build up, characters get stronger, some psychological themes, other heroes lose, Saitama rolls up, wins in an absurd way with comedic moments, repeat. And we love it.
@@sentientbeing8738 They meant the differences between the Web-comic and Manga. Both are still fire, but I still believe the story-side of the web comic to be better (which i still believe they could've just done both). For one, it's basically force-fed to you that Garou is secretly good at being a hero during his fight against Saitama, as compared to the more subtle route in the web-comic (i.e: Saitama pointing out that there was no kid in the distance that Garou threatened to kill, to push a heroes limit and see if they'd stand together). Etc, etc. It goes down the shonen route, basically
But you're right, the manga version is essentially just a toned-downed version of the og version until the fights and Murata's godly art
I actually really prefer the original Version. Sure the fight we got was cool but i feel like them stopping and talking would be a much more interesting way to take the story rather than just a big punching match. I thought it fit much more with their characters and the story. Oh well i guess the author changed his mind and chose a different direction and if hes happier with this version of the story i cant hate i still enjoy it as it is now but i really wonder about what could have been.
The deleted scenes of Saitama help Tareo out from Monster Association was also almost destroying the manga. Murata then changed it to King help Tareo.
Which chapter is that?
I really hope they add the therapy talk in the anime as a reference to the manga and show what was actually going to happen and what caused cosmic garou
I don't think a writer should ever change their artistic rendering of what they have created because of "community backlash". Social media causes too many problems. I agree with you
When i saw the first version i didnt mind it at all, but boy am i happy it got changed now. Best fight ive ever seen in manga
To be honest, I would like to see bonus chapters of the original version and how it would continue
1. remember when saitama punched marugori the giant and his body fell into the city which probably killed thousands of people and caused billions of dollars in damage?
2. how about all the number of people saitama helped kill and the building he helped destroy during his fight with awakened garou?
3. how about all of the number of people saitama almost killed during his first punch with cosmic garou - blast said that their punch could have destroyed the earth?
4. how about all the billions of people on other planets who died when saitama's and cosmic garou's punch ripped a small hole in the universe. saitama?
5. and let's not forget about the time he tried to bully and intimidate tatsumaki. instead of preventing damages, his interactions causes billions of dollars in damage.
Completely agree. On one hand, Cosmic Fear mode is pretty cool, but on the other hand, talking things out would be development for both Garou and Saitama.
OH MY GOD
So THAT'S why i couldn't comprehend what was going on at the time, i actually read it before being confused the week after when everything changed.
I actually thought i dreamt about the chapter and that it didn't actually exist lmao
Same I’m so glad I’m not loosing it…yet
I never knew about this. So glad it didn’t end like this.
You were overthinking it A LOT
I always wonder if Saitama was able to see God's interaction with Garo since he was able to see God when he was with Flashy Flash and Monaco. Also being able to break into Phoenix man's for lack of a better word mental void/domain expansion. Also fight after the redraw was fn epic. Giving us a chance to see Garo's future potential if he ever becomes an allie to saitama.
i hope one day we will get to see orignal way to continue cause its interesting to see what kind of funny things they could have talked
Thank you for this. I was so lost reading the manga because entire scenarios were changed at times and this one confused me the most.
Dude even has a 'Serious Table Talk' move
re-do's really feel like when you play an ai dungeon game, and you let the ai just come up with most if it, and then making it re do all of it,
its cool what it comes up with, but then what could have lead to other story building is just deleted for something different to story build onto instead.
Edit: kinda makes you feel FOMO over what ONE was actually going for first off.
I would like to see the "Good" Ending i guess?
@@13.ghaniziyadsagiansyah66 amazing
@@13.ghaniziyadsagiansyah66 You can force your way in AI dungeon you can say "Nah now i have dragon ball Z powers" and AI just gonna give up and play along.
imagine in the anime, they showed the deleted chapter and did a rewind time thingy and showed the manga version, so its like another time line and that showing timelines that saitama doesn't lose.
I would have liked to see this chapter. Gotta see that serious talk jitsu
I didn't know there was another version of this fight, interesting
I always kinda figured the Serious Series: Serious Table Flip would come out in the talk no jutsu session that never happened.
Instead, he not only table flipped an entire fucken moon. He sneezed the atmosphere off of Jupiter. *Accidentally.*
I saw the ending of one chapter leading to this but wished to see what was gonna happen next.
I really like this video. Good job!
No wonder people hated the second season. People dont want in depth character development, or incredible writing, they just wanna see another person get killed by a man that is too powerful
No, it was hated because the animations were way lower quality than season 1.
Season 2 was garbage solely due to eye hurting animation
What are you saying, It was the animation even the season 1 director thought it was disappointing.
@@Mr.Mister412 that's exactly the point OP is making; the writing in season two was exactly the same as season one, but because the pretty effects weren't as pretty, everyone bashed it. The majority don't want a decent story, they just want super cool set pieces. Example A: Demon Slayer.
Season 2 was not good compared season 1. Ain't no way it was incredible writing.
got redrawn cause peopled wanted their serious table flip that was promised to us years before in the web comic, and with the talk no jutsu we weren't going to get that, its a very good thing that it got redrawn
And if any complaint needed for that arc was the no serious headbutt and I am not running mad from that.
wait, that was a redraw of that chap? no wonder i got confused onto what happened.
Nah, this chapter is cannon. "god" character went back in time to give garou a boost after seeing Garou get clowned on. The moon is the focus of the final page. I wasn't surprised at all when the next chapter went back in time when the redraw was released. But if it really is just a redraw then that's a shame.
You’re looking to deep into it
I loved that chapter
I was absolutely stoked the way the manga was headed
I saw the first version somewhere, but i dont remember where
I never heard about this, I thought this was something new.
It was unexpected but I left me really curious about what could happen after that.
I remember my first redraw with this series….. there’s been a few.
I believe ONE and Murata were trolling with the adorable ending. One factor is that the web comics shows garo coming from the sky and saitama says “something is coming”. This scene was made in the manga in the redrawn I.e. the cosmic mode chapter
I like both, one is a cute chill wholesome ending and the other is an epic final boss fight
You're also wise with this, bro 😂
i think it's funny because i bet the creator was like "well fine if you don't want to know garou's motives and true ideals then here" knowing damn well that just because some kids cried about it now we won't know more about garou for quite some time we may have missed some very important info i don't even read it but i guarantee that the fans of the manga will regret this big time later on
Exactly, the chapter always makes me excited every time i read.
I read both and didn't realise that it was meant to be the same chapter, aways got confused about it, but tought both events were cannon and the place where I was reading just messed up the upload, pretty sure both could happen, garou saitama talk doesn't go right, then they fight again
4:04 that also happened in the webcomic too. So second/redraw chapater is somewhat more faithful to the webcomic.
happy i found this channel he isnt on the haters side he's looking out the box and telling us it would have went the same way no matter what
overall making both sides agree with eachother
The reason why I didn't like the manga before the redraw was that I thought it was completely different from the route of Onepunch-Man (One) but hey I was too quick to judge it was awesome. Also I came to know that the manga version is going to be different compared to other versions and I am all here for it.
i remembered reading this chapter in a website, and then the next week they had the same chapter but with a different outcome, then i realized something was wrong
this video pretty much explained what happened
The final version were so good that I forgot about the delays as if I went back in time
Deadass I couldn't find out what happened to this chapter and didn't see anyone talking about online so when it just disappeared from the internet I was confused as fuck.
I was wondering where it went. I read it and thought i was going crazy when it disappeared.
This is nice to see, I wouldn't have minded this.
Completely agree. In order to truly love something you must be able to see its flaws. Extremist fans don't 'love', they idolize, and that makes a huge difference.
I had hoped that with the time travel bs we would go back to the old chapter, closing the loop, maybe saitama would think what he could do differently to prevent deaths: and of course that would be talking it out
I used to wait BUT NOW I made sure to get every One Punch Chapters in case chapters like this
While watching this im kinda curious on how the next chapter would go if it never got completely redo
I thought garou would realise something or god would talk to him jn between his therapy session which might change him and cause him to once again rampage
When I finished reading the chapter, I went absolutely confused why it changed to them sitting to fighting next chapter later
I like the idea of character development for garou, I still know so little about him
tbh i feel like they didnt have to delete that chapter and could have build off of it.
Like I would imagine from the editor to the top management screaming "He wanna do what??"
I know sometimes mangaka would do some corrections, but they would do it on the tankoubon/volume version
dude, your posting a lot of videos recently why are you working this hard you must enjoy making this kind o fcontents like a lot
And now, even after the redraw, they removed Garou's big, epic speech about good, evil and hypocricy. Hopefully they've just moved it to a future arc.
I think it was just a 4th wall break to prepare us for the timeline erasing which comes later.
I was so confused when they decided to talk no jutsu out i almost broke my phone.
I read the webcomic and I may have forgotten most of it, but the 1st one is pretty much how the story originally went.
Saitama literally goes "Oh, I get it. You're a monster who wanted to be a hero."
And it was fine.
Quickest redraw ever. I want to see where it would have went though
I was weirded out by the retconning like how Narinki's Private Squad were killed then they weren’t.
I remember reading it this way lol
I should read that but not yet i need to catch up
I honestly loved the original end but I am glad we got the fight we did
I had been wondering what was up with that. I liked the original ending, it fit well with the overall themes and vibe of the show.
Holy shit, that garou comparison meme enraged me...
When I saw that Panel I crack on LAguh but then it changed
I didn't even know about the original version, I catch up to the manga once every few months, I think the sit down was great and way more like the webcomic, OPM should be comedy first. The space fight was amazingly drawn but it went for too long and then there was time travel and blegh. It feels like One and Murata had a sitdown with the editor or something telling them they need to put more action in the story.
