An equally talented singer from the Netherlands is Floor Jansen. Different genre (rock/classic), but you won’t be disappointed. She performed several songs on a Dutch TV show called “Beste zangers” (best singers), I’d advise to start with her version of “Winner”, then “Vilja lied”, and then her duet with Henk Poort. And then, to see what she does for a day job, check her out performing with her band, Nightwish. A great place to start would be “Ghost love score”, live at Wacken. Be prepared for what her fans call, a “Floorgasm” 😉

Of course Morissette has a beautiful voice. But on par with Glennis in this song? No way! Morissettes interpretation is too sweet, too soft, too submissive in my opinion. Glennis gives us a rich color of different emotions. She begs, she demands, she seduces, she informs objective about her personality, all in the same song. Very convincing and soulful storytelling in combination with her elegance and presence. A huge stage, but she fills it completely all by her self. Compare again. By far no match to her. BTW neither to her version of the very difficult WH ballad Home, which Morissette did as well. Compliments for the fact that she tried though, because very few other vocalists dared. I can’t even mention one.
