    Various shots of American troops on the move through wrecked town.
    Local women turn out to watch the troops passing by.
    VS of refugees walking along the roads. Many carry possessions in wheelbarrows or carts.
    VS of people gathered around American army jeep. Locals are talking to soldiers. They seem to be arguing about a young woman sitting in the jeep (a possible collaborator ?). Local people show their papers to soldiers.
    VS of civilians coming out to greet American troops in jeeps and tanks. Woman gives V sign to camera. Lots of people watch troops going through.

    On holiday in 1960 with mum, & dad, met a lady from France that told me about the Allies, "We knew that they were Allies because they smiled at us and waved at the kids!"
