First time watching your channel and videos- really well done- love those color overlays lol. Great explanation- and I cannot mix green for the life of me lol.

Great info thank you! I'm interested to know if the opacity/transparency of a colour would affect the mix you get? So would a transparent red mixed with an opaque yellow give a similar result to an opaque red and a transparent yellow? Hopefully I'm making sense?

I teach elementary art - mixed paint to make orange and green with ease. The kids were so impressed! Then I mixed red and blue - got brown! After that I bought purple until I tried mixing magenta instead of red.

FYI to viewers - unfortunately Golden no longer makes Hansa Yellow Medium or Hansa Yellow Light (just wanted to let you know if you were having trouble looking for them). I know that Laurel has recommended Liquitex Cadmium Free Yellow Medium and Cadmium Free Yellow Light as well (I know this from taking her painting course a while back) so those will probably be good substitutes for the ones she's using in this video. :)

Thanks for pointing this out!! Since this video I started using benzimidazolone yellow medium and light from Golden! The liquitex options are awesome too!
