i would love a bungalow i am in a one bedroom rented flat i sleep in the lounge it just feels better the bedroom is next to my naighbours wall were the lounge is at the end of the block ❤ i now use the bedroom as a drying room with a dehumidifier and large steel airer ❤ i miss my Husband and Soulmate 😢

Hello Tanya, my name is Joy and I love your videos, I am a new subscriber to your channel. You were asking about your Orchid, which are a passion of mine I have 10 of them, had them for a number of years, cut them back after flowering and they have bloomed for years. I would take yours out of the vase, get a clear plastic orchid pot, and repot it with orchid bark. You can get it at garden centres very easily. The beauty of the plastic clear pot is you can see when it wants watering by the roots turning from a rich green to a greyish colour, I tend to when watering stand the pot in a bowl for half an hour or so to allow the water to rise up in the pot and the roots to turn green again, take it out and let it drain to get rid of access water, and then its good to put in a nice outer pot of your choosing. When in bloom or any buds there feed about every 2 to3 weeks with orchid feed. When finished blooming you chop back. I would look on youtube there are plenty of channels that show you how and where to cut down, I looked myself when I first had mine how to do this. The other thing is dont get water in the centre of the leaves it can rot the plant. A few simple rules and you will have success with your plant. You can mist the leaves with a very fine mist spray, I hope this helps you. Good luck.x

@LivingonaUKStatePension Yes, Tania, we did. We moved 3 years ago to a lovely new build bungalow in a quiet area not far from the village. Unfortunately, we couldn't find one that we could afford to buy outright so had to buy shared ownership from a housing association. The downside is that we have to pay rent on the 40% we don't own and it's risen from £375 per month to almost £500 in 3 years. I really don't know if it's sustainable which is why frugality is still such a big thing for us. We're both on the old basic state pension which, as you know, is considerably lower than the new rates but don't qualify for Pension Credit . I know what you mean about SAD. I get really down in the winter months too and luckily our bungalow lounge is South facing too. Angie x

Looks like your orchid will flower soon, I wouldn’t disturb it if I were you, just be patient, mine flowers from time to time but no set pattern, I’m not green fingered but I’ve had my little orchid for about 3 years & only water when I remember the flowers last for ages when it does flower though.
What a beautiful home 🏡 thank you for the tour. I always find my orchids thrive and flower best in the bathroom. Mine always gets a good bit of sunshine and I think the steam from showers everyday is just the right amount of moisture without overwatering. Hope the re-potting works!

Hello Tania, I think you did a wonderful job with your bungalow. We moved into a new home (builder basic) about 2 1/2 years ago and I’m slowly painting and doing crown molding’s. It makes such a difference. I have a very neutral pallet also. Other than creams and beige I have greens and yellowish gold mixed in. It’s so soothing to me and I really need that right now. Lovely home. I also had my husband add some small shelves in my pantry and in a couple of cabinets as well. Older cabinets in our house so I really enjoyed looking at your sleek modern look.
You've done a great job on your property Tania. All the hard work has paid off; it's a lovely cosy, yet elegant, uncluttered home. I love the pull out wire drawers in the pantry cupboard. Genius idea to put it that narrow top shelf for cling film, foil etc! Edited to say the panelling in the bedrooms is so stylish. Since my husband passed away I will have to sell the cottage I'm living in (built around 1700 so not a straight line to be seen!) and will definitely use some of your ideas for my new property. You're a mine of useful information - I'd not heard of self levelling paint before for a start. Thank you for the tour.
I'm sorry for your loss. It must have been hard for you to leave the cottage. Most furniture paint now is self levelling which is brilliant, you don't have to worry about brush lines etc. Good luck in your new home. X
I need to rely on my State Pension for the year in order to top up my savings. I Know there are people out there that don't have anything other than the State Pension. Great bungalow very nice/clean. As I like mine. Dunelm towels keep their colour. Mine years old and still looking good. Blue would go well with the grey bathroom. 😊😊

Yes, love your bungalow. Makes me more sadder that I didn't go for one when I had the chance. Just one extra comment: I would strongly recommend you have a grab handle fitted to assist safety getting out of the bath. I have the same set up and always use the wall-mounted handle just to steady myself stepping out of the bath after my shower. ❤

My younger son bought an IKEA wardrobe (like the one in your spare room) for his flat in Brittany 7 years ago, since he’s been in Canada his brother has had it - between the 2 of them it’s been re- assembled three times now
I love Ikea furniture, its great value and does what it says on the tin. I sometimes put in a small order I think its £4 delivery. I love their food bags, storage bags and blue bags for my garden rubbish. x
Your home is lovely I love everything you’ve done though I do have one question when remodeling your bathroom was there any reason you did not put in a walk-in shower? The curtain hack is up next week I make my own larger rings out of cardboard and it makes pulling heavier curtains simple. And of course they look so much better when drawn back.
I looked back at my emails. It was from a company called Garden Street. I dont think they do it now. But if you look up ' corona small kitchen dining table/breakfast bar' you'll get a good selection come up. I liked the fact it had a leaf extension. X

No, Its something maybe I need to learn to do, especially as I've had younger people contact me asking me to get word out about saving money, budgeting etc. Its taken me a while to learn editing, UA-cam etc. I understand that Instagram is a different format again. I probably will at some point in the future. LOVE IKEA grwat value. X
@LivingonaUKStatePension As an older (79) user I managed to learn how to use Instagram with a few sessions at my local library 📚. My presence is still very limited but I recently managed to master reels and still more to learn. For the younger users your budget and money 💵 management content is very useful. I plan to join the UA-cam community as many Instagram use both social media platforms. ⛄️👍🇦🇺

It's called wood silk. You only need a little on a cloth and it wipes away smears, water marks etc. I have an old cloth in a plastic bag I repeatedly use. Brilliant stuff. X

Since my husband passed away I will have to sell the cottage I'm living in (built around 1700 so not a straight line to be seen!) and will definitely use some of your ideas for my new property. I'm sorry for your loss. It must have been hard for you to leave the cottage. Most furniture paint now is self levelling which is brilliant, you don't have to worry about brush lines etc. Good luck in your new home. X

You have a cosy home, I did the panelling in one bedroom and on the stairs and main living room wall about 10 years ago . I still love it! I am in my 70s and love decorating 😊

Yes, love your bungalow. Makes me more sadder that I didn't go for one when I had the chance. Just one extra comment: I would strongly recommend you have a grab handle fitted to assist safety getting out of the bath. I have the same set up and always use the wall-mounted handle just to steady myself stepping out of the bath after my shower. ❤

I have the same orchid from M&S and repotted mine as the orchid is in a tiny pot that doesn’t get the water and use as the glass as a vase.
I think that's what I'll do. It's just not done anything. I've kept it alive but no flowers. X

My younger son bought an IKEA wardrobe (like the one in your spare room) for his flat in Brittany 7 years ago, since he’s been in Canada his brother has had it - between the 2 of them it’s been re- assembled three times now
I love Ikea furniture, its great value and does what it says on the tin. I sometimes put in a small order I think its £4 delivery. I love their food bags, storage bags and blue bags for my garden rubbish. x

I looked back at my emails. It was from a company called Garden Street. I dont think they do it now. But if you look up ' corona small kitchen dining table/breakfast bar' you'll get a good selection come up. I liked the fact it had a leaf extension. X

No, Its something maybe I need to learn to do, especially as I've had younger people contact me asking me to get word out about saving money, budgeting etc. Its taken me a while to learn editing, UA-cam etc. I understand that Instagram is a different format again. I probably will at some point in the future. LOVE IKEA grwat value. X

As an older (79) user I managed to learn how to use Instagram with a few sessions at my local library 📚. My presence is still very limited but I recently managed to master reels and still more to learn. For the younger users your budget and money 💵 management content is very useful.
I plan to join the UA-cam community as many Instagram use both social media platforms. ⛄️👍🇦🇺

Yes, my freezer is in the garage. It's what used to be called a ¾ size one. Having good storage helps keep things tidy. X
we dont have a dishwasher in out Bungalow and will never have one i prefer to wash up :)
I had a dishwasher in the last house but it was a small one so, I had to do pan washing anyway. Like you I don't mind the process at all. x

It's called wood silk. You only need a little on a cloth and it wipes away smears, water marks etc. I have an old cloth in a plastic bag I repeatedly use. Brilliant stuff. X
A lovely home and you planned it intentionally to meet your needs of maintaining heat via insulation.

So sorry I really want to watch your videos, but it makes me feel queasy with the shaky movement of the camera. Maybe a suggestion to have camera on a tripod and pan around. But from bits I have seen your bungalow is beautiful.
