We put a 5 speed manual transmission in the 97 3000gt sl.
We convert the automatic to a manual and take you along for the entire journey-start to finish!

I have like 8K worth of parts going into the car... Hes rebuilding the engine from block up . Its needed alot of stuff to get it back to road worthy as the previous owner didnt do the right repairs and upgrades.
I bought a crashed VR-4 and will take out both engine and transmission to put it into my base model since engine and transmission are dying, wasn't taken care of before I got it.
The worst part is lying on your back messing with the pedals… maybe even worse than that is when you’re fabricating the clutch master hole in the firewall.
Nah the worst part is trying to get the 2 cv axle bolts out
You should make a video going over how to do the neutral safety bybass re pin and hooking up brake lights. That would be so helpful. Also I'm currently dropping my atx tranny, but it's hitting against the engine bay side wall closest to the passenger side. I cannot clear it. Help!
You have to drop the torque converter with the transmission. It sounds like you are trying to pull the transmission off of the torque converter. Yes after we posted the video we noticed we left that part out we can make a follow up video for it for sure.

Glad mine came with the 5-speed. And i recently did a full build on the engine.All the rot ont hat thing. Lucky enough that mine was a scottsdale AZ car..Minimal rust. Paints faded but the body and chassis is as solid as they come.

Think one of the guys on this channel pulled up to me at a stop light while I was in my 3000GT and told me to check you guys out a few months ago.
Good Job , tho its a BASE model. the SL had the 24v Dohc engine

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if a prior owner upgraded interior bits to make it more SL like, or could you get the leather seats in the base model?

What did you do about the connector attached to the clutch pedal? Do I need that plugged in?

Manual’s don’t use a computer. Just remove the auto computer.

Hey what harness and ecu did you use
You reuse the same harness and ecu in the car. Just unplug the tcu.
