    Welders don’t tell you about that because they usually don’t plan on separating the material after they weld it Im guessing?

    I think it is a cool trick, and although I might never use it, it gives me ideas to store up, and use on future job that you need an alternative solution.
    Smaller diameter section of tubing cut about 6 inches and stuffed into 2 larger pieces accomplishes the same thing and adds strength in a 1/4 of the time.

    this is actually very useful if you want to connect a new one to an already vertically installed in high altitude , 2-3 meters. It will make it more secure.

      I feel like this would be used for welding pipes together. You could use his solution in case you didn't have access and were doing something DIY at home...

    Make like him more solid because if you weld after cleaning the attachments for the two pipes, they are very precarious and risk to move.

    What would you use this for?

      I think for stands that require portability. Something you can quickly assemble for a job. You'd see this trick for painters or builders that can put together a large stand that would be good for a project then broken down for portability to the next project.

      Well like this it wouldn't need a sleeve, kind of an inner sleeve that becomes welded through and over the gap. Source: 20 years of software development experience.

      I figured he was gonna weld the seam. When he started drilling I assumed he was going to just drill through the outside and do spot welds. Pretty much slugging the tube, but then he went rogue.

    Why do welders not speak of it? Cause it takes a shiz load of time, welding it out and grinding it flush even would take less time and end up with a better looking result

      Dale Neish Welders use welds to build things, not bolts. The title of the video makes it seem as if it’s some hidden trick that welders avoid. Welders make things permanent

    It's tube not pipe cut both ends at a 45 and sleeve the inside and don't forget to drill a few holes for rossetta weld's
