Some people are saying the CBD looks run down...Kolkata is a dying City..etc. Boss this is the OLD CBD of Kolkata..businesses are shifting their offices from here to newer parts like New Town and Salt Lake Sector V..hence no takers for commerical real estate here.. I guess the State Govt should clean up the footpaths from Hawkers, refurbish the run down building or sell them to Developers.. This Old CBD along the river side view of Strand Road has a great potential to be good commerical/business district in the future. Hopefully the East West Metro corridor gets fully operational by next year..that way both the old CBD and the new CBDs of Kolkata along with Sealdah and Howrah Stations are connected..
