Nice job with this topic Mo. Have a Denon 3600 and an Anthem AVM 60. I go back and forth with the two and drive them with an Outlaw 5000x and Emotiva BasX A5175. What got me started on the external amplification path was my purchase of a Yamaha TSR 7850. Was surprised to learn that it had two RCA pre-outs on the rear. Took advantage of the feature and purchased an Emotiva BasX A300 two power the front stereo pair. I was so shocked by the change in output for my Elac pairs (B6.2 and UB5) and would always recommend that anyone using more than 5 speakers always use external amplification for at least the stereo pair.
@@magnoliamo Balanced XLR is a plus I haven't taken advantage of yet but I plan to soon when I switch back to the AVM 60. I'm using both amps to power my 5.1.4 setup wirh the 3600 basically acting as a processor. Both amps always remain cool as I rarely listen to music at a max of -4.5 dB and theatrical content at a max of -9dB when I want to push things. I don't recognize any noticable difference between the two external amps yet. The 5000x was surprisingly heavy when compared to the light AVRs and Emotiva amps I've owned. Base layer 4 Kef Q150s with an Infinity RC263 as a beast of center option. Front heights are SVS elevations and Top middle heights are Monolith THX concentric satellites. The low end is represented by SVS SB 2000 and REL HT 1205. The Spatial Audio Calibration Toolkit by Techno Dad and Joe n Tell has been very helpful in my recent tweaking.
Nice video. Thanks. If we use an external amplifier (for front channel as an example), will the audio controls (volume / mute etc.) of the Denon remote work for the amplifier sound?
Yes they will. The RCA pre outs work similar to a preamp. If another amplifier is a receiver or integrated amplifier you will need to adjust that amplifiers volume to a desired level and then run auto setup or level match using an SPL meter to ensure levels are matched to other channels that are driven by the receiver. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for comment.
Thanks @@magnoliamo. I am assuming I can set the volume on the amplifier to say 29db and run room correction on the Denon. From then on the Denon remove will control volume on the all the channels.
I am trying to set up a music & video setup at home. I am a new audiophile. I like Cambridge DacMagic 200 . So please suggest if I can connect Cambridge DacMagic 200 DAC to ONKYO TX NR 6100. Please also suggest some desent speakers supporting ONKYO.
Yes you can connect DacMagic to the Onkyo using any of the available RCA inputs. For speakers depends on the what you are looking to setup. Are you thinking about a Dolby Atmos setup? If yes, then how many height speakers can you do? How many subs are you thinking of having?
Thanks for the question. That depends on your speakers and the setup you are looking for. The Cinema 50 is a 9 channel receiver. That means, if you want to get a full 7.4.4 system you will need an external amp for 2 of your channels. If you are fine with a 9-channel layout but have power hungry speakers or want more output than the 110 watt per channel amplification as advertised by Marantz then you will need to add an external 2-channel, 3-channel, or 5-channel amplifier. All depends on you. I think the Marantz Cinema 50 has enough power to drive a 5.4.4 or a 7.4.2 layout as long as your speakers are relatively easy to drive.
Please help i have spent quite a bit and i dont understand. I have a denon X1700h that is 8ohms and i have 2 6ohms speakers. My 1 year old removed a binding post from 1 speaker so i have only been using 1 speaker. Today i got flashing red light and i have removed all wires and its been off for a few hours but still got red flashing light. It is still under guarantee so i can return but would you know why this could happen and if i can get an amp for this reciever ? Because i want to get 4ohm speakers
This receiver does not have speaker pre-outs so you cannot add an amplifier. The flashing red light is usually a sign of mis-wiring. I would contact Denon customer service. Thanks for the question.
Great help thanks.

Thank you. Completely agree with you. If you have pre-outs, use it and experience the advantages yourself.
How do like the Emotiva BasX A5175 compared to the Outlaw?

Not going to lie.
This video drove me nuts.
I'm just gonna admit, I don't have a brain for this video
Sorry to hear that. Which part or the parts of the video were overwhelming. I can walk you through if you like.
Me too
To mutch bla bla bla.
Come to the point
Thanks for the feedback. Looking back at this video, I do agree with you.
