Former female officers speak out over Police Scotland’s ‘sexist boys club’

Much of the attention has focused on the Metropolitan Police where Ms Everard's killer worked. But a recent employment tribunal against Police Scotland, the UK's second biggest force, has been hearing how a firearms unit there had operated like a sexist boys club.
We spoke to three former female officers who say they felt forced out of their jobs in Police Scotland by what they describe as a "sexist and misogynistic" culture.

It doesn’t surprise me that Police Scotland treat their own employees with such disregard! I’ve currently got a complaint in against the Police and I’m experiencing the same horror as these victims.
You are not "experiencing the same horror as these victims" because you're not a Police Officer and I assume never have been. I don't doubt whatever you're going through is horrific but, your experiences are completely different from their's, and vice-versa.
Only racist and sexist? Channel 4 forgot to add in the many recorded instances of Plod Scotland being homophobic, bigoted, ageist, ableist, classist, corrupt and just plain old-fashioned criminal. Their former Chief, Iain Livingstone might have admitted to the racism and sexism before he bailed, but he certainly didn't seem to be doing anything about it during his time in office, which made him part of the problem. But then, what would you expect from a Chief that was once demoted from Superintendent to Constable for very questionable behaviour with a younger female cop at Tulliallan.
Based on my few interactions with Police Scotland before seeing this video I called it 'an old boys and girls club'. They cover for each other and know how to get round the complaints system ... Civil self servants
There needs to be more transparency & accountability, people don't need sweet talking, people need transparency & accountability & justice.
These women should be very well compensated. And to prevent these mistakes happening again , those who wronged them should be held accountable. So other's now in the office never do it again.

I wouldn't leave them unattended in my house as can't be trusted. Refused to report matters from homophobic abuse from public to theft from the house. Twice chapped the door over the years and simply ignored them. No faith or desire to engage with them. Over 10 years ago I had one threaten to put his boot in my face- overheard by three officers and not one pulled him for it.
why would they they couldn't careless to scared to go against their so called colleagues.

i strongly beleive woman should not be on front line policing after 9 years as a serving police officer when you are dealing with aggressive alpha type individuals high on cocaine and steroids most of the time the last thing we need is emotional woman getting in the way as a member of the public if you call police for serious help would you want girls showing up on your front door to protect you ?
I remember seeing a documentary about the first women to join police Scotland in the 1970s abs the men glared at the women, and sneered at then, as they walked onto the room. U was afraid for them, watching the way the were treated.
Police Scotland are currently failing the people of Scotland mainly due to large abscence and chocked up court systems some crimes are being ignored and deemed acceptable
