Through out her life she was truly beautiful inside and out. Whatever her size it never had an impact on her wonderful voice which in my opinion was amazing. A natural beauty. Thank you
who's the conductor? the only version that the singer does not draw the attention immediately, but she is one with the orchestra!!! that's very rare, but so important (and amazing aesthetically!) bravi tutti!!! wunderschön! P.S. it's pronounced as "qvilt" and not "quilt" as in Latin and Italian
Very unidiomatic. Doesn't sound like Wagner singing at all. By the end, even the orchestra is almost falling asleep. A minute and a half longer than Nilsson's version ... zzzzzzzzzz
Because Wagner is'nt italian belcanto it's german singing style Wagner wanted to sing his operas. So you are right about this Aria but Caballe was on the other side a very good singer- one of the last! (La Traviata etc.- italian style operas was her thing) and she had a wonderful pianissimo and as good trained singers should know there is only a pianissimo with forte, not without! But most singers don't know what that means. Woofy, weak, airy, without chest voice, like a horn sounded Isoldes without solid techique are a mass product of boring opera style today and even if Isolde isn't made for Madame Caballe, she even showed this aria ten times better than others, while the orchestra mist play extreme silent otherwise noone would hear a thing! Its a big problem for the Art of Belcanto, if singers often sing with a different technique in studios because thats not the same as in operra house where a singer must be audible to all of the audience! Belcanto never needed microphones but in our days listening to a real opera singer might scared people to death and called it yelling...sweet sounding mosquitos are normal and tolerated this days.
To me.....was Montserrat Caball'e an angel!!!!!!!🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶❤
Montserrat was truly THE VOICE of ETERNITY in our lifetime. This recording with Alain Lombard is transformational. Wagner would have wept!
Zubin conducted i think.
@@juanjosedubal There is a Zubin Mehta recording with her, but this is the Alain Lombard version which I have. It is better in my opinion.
