Are you able to do this exercise? Easy or challenging?
That was great! I’m here at the nursing home facility with my Dad who has had his second stroke. Presently my Dad cannot say many words. He was definitely a man of many words though in his latter years he was more of a loner. When he and I would talk we would talk for hours rather in person or on the phone. I miss that. He his doing much better with other past complications. It’s important for him to talk is what I feel. There are important things for him to say. I discovered your music therapy on you tube and found it to be very interesting for I truly believe in music therapy for many many things. I see how it will help with speech. Me and my Dad both have always been into music. He is a Drummer. I am a singer. This is right up our alley. Rhythm and song for personal development. I have to get him this to listen to regularly for we live far apart from each other. This is amazing!! Thank you!!
Oh Rochelle! Wow thank you so much for sharing those details about your dad's recovery. So sweet about your conversations- I can see how his speech recovery is so personal for you! Thank you for your kind words- and I am so glad you see the potential help for him here. I just opened a section of my class for people who have few words- might be a big benefit for him. Reach out if you'd like to know more and more exercises are on the way! beyondhighc@gmail.com

I'm a speech pathologist who works exclusively with individuals with Parkinson's.. this rhythm exercise is BRILLIANT! There are so few resources out there that specifically target rhythm and cadence, especially for adults with neurological impairment from stroke, Parkinson's Disease, TBI. What a fun and effective way to target these skills. Well done!
It is an exciting practice and video
Thank you very much :)

Your exercises video is helpful but my problem is my voice I have a very soft voice due to ischemic stroke I had suffered
Marites! Have you tried exercises to make your voice louder? 🗣️📣People with Parkinson's do them daily and it helps. Let me know! CAN your voice be louder, when you concentrate on it?
I don't know what exercises for louder voice
@@maritesteodoro2867 start with a deep breath, use your stomach muscles and and say a word or phrase loudly, powered by your stomach muscles. 3x each day, and think about that as you talk, you may see a big difference. I hope to get more exercises for loudness here soon. So glad you commented- keep it up!
Hi I have kids that have speech problems at my school. The speech teacher doesn't really get to work with them much. How can I help? I don't not know any official diagnosis
I will do this with them
Thank you for asking Stacy! They are lucky to have you caring about them 😍! I've read a lot of studies and seen a LOT of IMPROVEMENT in my classes using rhythm to pace someone's speech. So. if your kids say something you can't understand- you could ask them to take a breath, feel a little rhythm, like they would if a song they like came on the radio, and give some space between the words that fits with the rhythm they feel. Seems to help them be more conscious too- about how they are speaking and what they can actively do to be better understood. Tapping that rhythm on their desk or leg as they do this is really helpful too, I bet. I hope you'll let me know if you try that!
I am anxious to hear how they respond! I bet tapping the rhythm of their syllables as they speak a little slower and more intentionally will help!
I have to.
Was it helpful Nicole? More coming soon!
Hey how much you charge
Hey Chelsi - thank you for asking. Group classes are $10 each + private coaching is $14 each (have to be in group class in order to be in coaching) - can do just group class alone. Feel free to email me if you'd like to try free 😃👍!
