- After starting our new life living in a camper van in Ireland we have three days to make our all important appointment with the vets in Portrush to get our dogs their European pet passports. We make our way from Belfast with a few breath taking stops along the route taking in the beauty that is all around us and even ticking one of our bucket list destinations off along the way. Once we get to the vets we make the discovery that we have been very lucky and our new addition to the family, little puppy Raven is also able to get her passport even though she wasn’t booked in, but with an unexpected twist that we are to be the last people to get our pet passports from them. #vanlifestories #ukpetpassports #fulltimevanlife

2x lucky guys! getting the last four and raven getting one. result!!!! You deffo both seem very happy now you're full timing. I'm absolutely going to do it next year once I know I'll be ok. TBH, you're probably gonna laugh at this Neil, but I broke my bed and I couldnt afford a new one so for the past four weeks Ive been kipping in Viv on the drive and with each night that passes, the necessity of having bricks and mortar becomes less important. its a big ol world out there and we only have one life in which to embrace it. The EU pet passports are for the life of your pet not just three years, only regulation that is rabies injection has to be done every three years in the EU or Northern Ireland 😀
Well we didn’t know that so thank you .so just keep up the rabies and we are good thank you for that it’s a massive help .
Also nice that some people realise we don’t know every thing and offer great advice cos there just a nice person

absolutely correct. we are in the north and have one.
Just to add too, when you do have to get your rabies renewal, it’s vitally important to ensure that it is given by an EU vet and not just the normal vet in GB. So best to get it done when it’s due whilst away in Europe which is probably the cheapest option or take another trip over to NI to see Liam the vet at Causeway (brilliant, kind and honest gentleman) Make sure they complete the rabies page in the passport and happy days !
Just a side note. I heard you paid £31 to park at the Giants Causeway..did u by any chance go into the shop at the start of the walk because the National Trust are lying to tourists to get them to pay that money to park..if you had gone in to the car park it's standard car parking fees..or if u had parked at the Giants Causeway Hotel it's FREE...the NT have been doing this for years and there's been a public outcry about them doing this..
We never we just pulled in to the car park and they asked if we had a booking reference so we just booked it . Altho that’s shocking that there doing that and I hope that all of us who pay . The money gets used wisely

Hi guys do yourselves a favour and join national trust I was at the Giant's causeway 4 weeks ago and not only did we get in for free we parked for free too . There is so much to do that is free when you have national trust membership. We visited 3 locations in Northern Ireland and the cost of national trust covered ment that we now have free parking and free entrance to more places than you could throw a stick at . Carrick rede rope bridge is well worth the walk. It's only 6 miles from the Giant's causeway. Enjoy Ireland 🤟

We where told about it by friends of ours who where over a while back . But we did get a copy of robbbies book as its supporting a fellow creator and it’s a bloody good book as well he puts mega effort in to them
Yes we have taken some hints and tips here and there and the vet was a great guy, very welcoming and informative too!

We where going to pop over but the weather wasn’t the best the day we where over there, but we can always head back that way we have plenty of time 😄😄
Well didn’t have to wait too long for this vid thank goodness the question I wanted answering was weather you now needed an AHC to travel to Belfast seems you don’t although once in Ireland it’s finding a vet
Just a note but you can have up to 5 animals on a health cert first pays most subsequent less there’s a vet in Nantwich charges £95 for first animal and £35 for second etc

Some of the vets don’t require them from what we hear mate so it’s best doing a little research and make a few calls . But there is no checks when you go on or come off the boat

Should have drove 100 yards there is a car park at the back of a farmhouse park all day for £5.00 free entrance to giant Causeway I park there all the time

You can get to see the giants causeway for free
We forgot to renew our national trust memberships before we left which had just ran out, and with having the dogs we didn’t want to get the bus up and our van was too big for the smaller car park so we just paid for the tickets out of convenience at the time so we could park in the closer big car park.
Next time just go on up past the carpark and park on the road.. head on foot and without going into the visitor centre,you are free to walk on down

If you had watched UA-cam like we do (Slaw's Adventures) you then would have gone to
Ballymena Pet Vets, 52 Henry St, Ballymena BT42 3A as we did on the 4th June 2024 and paid £90 per dog and they are still doing them.👍😇
Good information for others wanting to do it thanks, unfortunately we don’t watch every single UA-cam channel on the platform as there are more than 51 million but we do watch some youtube when we are filming, editing or working
I live in Northern Ireland. The only reason why we have pet passports as opposed to the certicates is because the DUP outlawed them. They know it's hard enough to get off this island to travel elsewhere and paying 400 pound plus per certificate is scandalous. Plus there was a big outcry from people that are on a dog owners fb page and the petition went to Northern Irish MLA's to oppose.. how the british government and vets in England cam get away with charging 400 pounds per dog per 10 days travel is astounding. 140 quid for a pet passport that lasts 3 years is more reasonable. The only problem we have now is P&O..they aren't playing ball with dog owners regarding travel on their ships but Stenaline are.
yep we live in the north now but when we brought our dog from London we paid £400 for one visit ( we were going back on that trip) and then realised they had paused the arrangements. now we live there we have a passport that cost £140!

The vet we went to is retiring that side of his practise and only going to be doing occasional surgeries, how ever there are other vets if you check the comments a couple of people have given address or places of the vets hope this helps.

I guess im still bitter as we paid the £400 in London for one dog when we were visiting and the documents were not even looked at, we then found the arrangements had been paused. We live in the North of Ireland now and we got a doggy passport like yours for £140. Can’t believe how ripped off we were for the previous visit. Glad you got sorted with your pups and hope you love your stay in ‘Ireland’. Will be following you!
£400 in London that’s is disgusting but it does prove just how bad it is in places! Sorry you got shafted like that!!
If thats a UK issued passport is that valid for Europe thought they needed to be issued in Europe. NI is not Europe should you not have gone south over the border to Ireland to get a passport. That is probably why vet issuing no more as not valid. We got our dogs passport in Portugal cost 13 euros and 22 for Rabies.

Yes and you can also get them in France etc, there’s plenty of ways of getting them but this is the way we have done it and not needed to get by e health certificates firsts.

Did you get into Northern Ireland without the dogs having rabies injections?
Our older pups had rabies injections a couple of years ago but not the correct ones for the wu passports and Raven hadn’t had it prior to the vet, we didn’t get checked on the way even though we had their complete vet histories with us just in case
We have just got 2 pet passports including rabies jabs for €65 in France bargain
That’s an excellent price but wouldn’t have worked for us with having 4 pups would have been too expensive to get all their AHC’s and then the passports on top, but great for other people with less dogs, got a real bargain there!!!

Hi guys, love your videos. but there is so much wrong information in this one. 1) You are not in Ireland you are in Northern Ireland part of the UK. 2) Giants Causeway is in Northern Ireland, not Ireland. 3) Your Vet is wrong as part of the UK all dogs coming from England, Scotland or Wales are not required to have a Medical Certificate entering by Belfast or Larne. Sorry if this looks like I'm being picky, but how would you feel, if people misdescribe your home?

Everyone is entitled to their own way of doing things, but we will be taking our dogs into Europe with us so this is what we have to do for that to happen.
Did You know as from last Year its ILLEGAL for. a Passenger to point a Camera at the Driver taking or not
Not only the Driver gets Points and a Fine , So does the Passenger inc the Points if a Licence Holder too
