"When you say you're working from home, you're skiving"
WFH has allowed me to spend the 2 hours a day I wasted on commuting to get a ahead with work, work later witout minding, and save £1000s on travel per year.
Get a grip
In my experience the people that say that are the types that would love any opportunity to skive and cant understand anyone turning down the chance to do so.
Working from home should be banned for those who are employed by others. It affects the national economy because it caters for a lazy workforce who think they are working hard and contributing effectively when in fact they would be a lot more effective and productive working in the office between Gary and Susan. Two minds are better than one. No, you can’t connect with people anywhere near as well as in person, especially in a work environment.
Business first. None of this work-life balance FOMO rubbish.
Get a grip WFH mofos
plenty of studies on this that's great if it works for you most people aren't disciplined enough simple as
I agree with the statement but I don't think this should speak to the average worker, but for those who hold high-ranking positions. The expectation to be visible should come with the territory of such a position.
How on earth can you come to that conclusion? @@nichobee
Doesn't Ally Mccoist work from home when he's on the breakfast show
Yeah and is the best of the lot of them
My old workplace thrived so much from people working from home that they closed multiple offices. Because people didn't have the AM/PM commute, they found people logging on 10,15, 20 mins earlier and then a little later at the end of the day to finish something, rather than race each other to the car park in an effort to be first out into the main traffic for an hour or so. once again with Talksport, no facts, just opinion.
Well said I agree. It’s not a lifestyle choice I have had the longest job ever from doing so.
I'm getting more and more Richard Keys and Andy Gray vibes off these boys everyday.
Very accurate.
In what way?
@@flowen_music in that they are behind the times, believing absolute nonsense that working from home is skiving.
@@highnoon7097 they were clearly saying it tongue in cheek 🤦♂️
@@flowen_music no they weren't. Their attitudes towards anything vaguely progressive are old fashioned outdated blokey soundbites. Simon still can't get over the rainbow captains armbands in Qatar. Then there's the circus that was Vardy v Rooney, Simon's opinion was no man should allow his wife to take something to court. He's a Tory boy that thinks its still the fifties.
Been working from home for one of the world’s biggest investment banks for the past 5 years. Super productive, get the work done, no office politics bs, no wasting time commuting and have been promoted 3 times in that time.
Doubled my wage in the last 2 years working form home also, these folks are just dinosaurs.
You might be working and be productive but plenty do not work a full day from home, especially management, who use the time to go off and collect children from school and do their weekend chores during the working week. Plenty are stealing a living while claiming to WFH.
@@LA-fr7fx and how do you not know they are not working that time up later in the day? At the end of the day, you can’t hide from doing the work - be it in the office or at home. For me, the point of work is achieving your set task, not by how many hours it takes to do it. Plenty of people sit in the office scrolling their phones.
@@charliecoplestone9694 yep, two dinosaurs. Jordan was in the office every day but still managed to run his club into bankruptcy.
@@gaffs82 exactly the same, it’s results based. And if the work isn’t done then they know you’re not working 🤷♂️
'You're not working, you're skiving'. And then bottled it at the end. 'No offence to anyone that WFH' Yet you called them skivers twice. Classy as ever.
He's right though. If I could work from home I'd do 25% of the work I do no
@Theganjaman88 plenty of studies indicate an improvement in both happiness and productivity when working from home.
WFH may not work for everyone, but 'Skivers' is a lazy overgeneralization.
@@Theganjaman88without knowing you I reckon you probably don’t do much work when you are at your workplace simply by your attitude - personally if I was your boss I would want to fire you just for saying that
@dirtydawg448 hahahahahaha I am a supervisor thats exactly why I know people don't work unless they're supervised
What a load of waffle from these 2 salty clickbait....
' if you work for me you get your backsides into work' Simon Jordan. One look at your companies house tells us you don't run a business all dissolved or resigned from good luck with that 👍
I work from home and can listen to the this pair when doing so. These guys encouraging folks get back in the office is like turkeys voting for Christmas, no?
Good point
I'd never want to work from home
@@balrajsingh776that’s not what they are saying though is it? Seems to me they are encouraging employers to remove that freedom and that is totally different isn’t it? Personally it’s up to the owners of a business to decide what sort of package they want to offer their employees including the ability to spend some or all of their time working from home. One thing is for sure - judging by the one dimensional views that those two have got it should be a wake up call to both of them that Old Father Time is catching up with them quickly🤣
hahahaha spot on. I literally have the Jordan and White show on whilst I get my emails done!
Glad to get away from the missus? I hear ya fella. @@TheGeneral_LUFC
They clearly got told off and then bottled their original statement 🤣 Wtf do they know about hard work.. They talk on the radio lol
exactly.
Love the show lads - disagree on this. A flexible policy is what the future will be.
I have worked at home for 10 years as an IT consultant and its what our customers want as well. I do very well at it thank you. If I was skiving I would be found out very quickly.
I work from home and the best thing about it is how it pisses tories off
Nowt wrong with working from home but if that’s true it’s a bit pathetic 😂
I don’t think it’s Tories who get pissed off; hard-working people do.

Check these 2 dinosaurs out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly!
Three I agree 😉
Backtracked pretty quick there lads
Pathetic isn't it
Absolute disgrace from these two, i worked from home and saved £100 a week minimum doing so and 3 hours a day in travel.
exactly their point
This is man united not some small firm u work at
Get back to work ma8 😮
Do you think the guys who work at Man UTd are on the same pay as you 😂 get back to work
Came here for the comments from the snowflakes and it was the first one. Why do you care what they think?
My son has been a season ticket holder at United for many years and he works from home, he works his socks off. , to work from home you have to have the right work ethic, I think Sir Jim is assessing what everyone is doing and working out if they are all necessary in regard to cutting costs, so agree with bringing them in, another aspect is my sister works from home because she was recovering from chemo and radiotherapy with a lot of travelling, this way she was able to work over a longer day with rests and do all her work, so there needs to be mitigating circumstances and a bit of what works for individuals
Concentrated work = from home. Collaborative work = from office. Both have a place.
Simon Jordan: A stupid person's idea of what a clever person is like.
There are some people who work from home that do nothing. These people also do nothing if they go into an office.
Sitting down for two hours talking into a microphone - that is real work
One thing I don’t get is the assumption that if someone works from home they’re skiving.
If work wasn’t getting done it would surely be picked up on by the employer pretty quickly. If not, then maybe the so-called work isn’t that necessary to begin with.
No no no, Working From Home keeps me off the road, less stuck in traffic and I'm actually home to see the kids when they finish.
I get so much more done at home where I'm not having small talk with colleagues or having to stop what I'm doing to help out people, far more productive, Jim has been stealing a living all his life
Same, far less distractions and I can focus far better.
Ye, the ones who love working in the office are typically the gabbers.
We get it, you hate your job
I work from home and I work more hours and more effectively than I did in the office. Too many interuptions in the office
What would Simon and Jim know about working. They haven’t worked a day in their lives ffs. Sit around on their holes all day talking about football, something they haven’t a clue about btw
And yet they make more money than you 🔔 end
You do realise he was a football club owner before being on radio? So I reckon he probably has worked a fair few days in his life
Jim Radcliffe lives in Monaco for tax reasons. I'm guessing he's not in the office in Manchester every day...
@@chrisbowman3136yeah he worked every day in the office still ran the business to the ground 🤣
@@rc9719 that's correct 🤣
Currently returning from "office" on a 2 hour 30 journey home. After 1 hour 30 to work so there's 4 hours due to appalling London train service.
Love they way Simon strangulates the language, effectivity, ? , bet he cheats at Scrabble.
Working from home is a godsend. I get to concentrate on my job and not the endless banal chat about what people are watching on netflix every other day
the reason companies haven't called people back to offices every single day is that they've seen costs decrease and productivity increase but lets go with a couple ancient radio hosts anectdotes instead of facts.
Problems SOLVED for United then, back to the glory days
What a shock SJ thinks the peasants can't possibly be disciplined enough to work from home and must be stood over by their masters. And JW. Either he's trying to be controversial to drive SJ's elitist viewpoint or he's a bit thick
wow the arrogance of these two. more work gets done at home
It depends on your work though... put their points were irrelevant and unnecessary.
🚨 Simong is his new name
That salah opinion made me realise
How Simong’s football opinions are based on bitterness
I wonder how long these charlatans will get away with this.
Meanwhile TalkSport, Sky, BT, and various other sports channels week in week out video in to various pundits and reporters who are sitting in their front room... Everyone knows when you are in the office, you waste 2-3 hours a day with nonsense conversations and roaming around the office. Let's say you do skive off off for an hour or two from home, it's only just the equivalent of what you would be doing in the office, the actual % of productivity doesn't change much. And this argument about development... Well I'll continue to work from home then, since I've only gone and 2.5x my salary in the last 3 years and qualified as a chartered accountant, but hey, what do us regular people know?
old people saying old people things. nothing new.
I thought dinosaurs 🦖 were extinct 😂
When I work from home I work.
Maybe these guys have a weak work ethic
Jim hasn’t done a days work in his life, just a sound bite head line grabber. At least you get a balanced argument from Simon. In the case of United it’s probably the right decision
Will be interesting when Man Utd end up in 12th place next season after all this "shift in culture".
You talking about liverpool
There is a good chance that could happen for a few seasons. But. If given time & they don't bottle it, it will work.
Proper showed their age on this one
Work from home depends on your type of work. Both arguement can be true.
Not often you see a sensible comment in these sections 👏🏻
Nope JW....you were not light-hearted, i saw SJ discard the flamethrower after emptying it.
Working in the office is great for team meetings and group work and that's about it. If the work need to be completed, it will get completed. I spent 10 hours last week Wednesday working from home due to a pressing deadline. Had I'd been in the office, I wouldn't have got the job complete due to commuting time.
Complete nonsense if you’re a skiver you’re going to skive whether you’re in the office or working from home.
i work from home and i can safely say i am 100% more productive in making better coffee
LOOOOOOLLLLLL production made you backtrack pretty quick on that one eh fellas
I wfh and get more done at home than in my office. As there is less distractions
Manchester Utd staff should not be WFH - the club is in a complete mess and they do not need slackers to be resting at home! Get them back to the office or get rid of them!
Nonsense! Depending on the business and type of job you may need to work in office but never never generalize it.
01:59
What a line from SJ, absolutely spot on 😂
LOL Had to Apologise LOL
First time Talksport has been out of line. Most people I know who works from home are more productive. In my line of working from the office is counter productive.
Workplace is poor. Productive is low in the workplace.
Jim not everyone working from home are skiving apart from you jim. Talksport is a real Tory station
These are stuck in past generations
Has Simon had a letter from Manchester City??
i love how people that work from home say 'its a lot harder then you think' but if them same people were offered to come back to the workplace they would 100% turn it down 😂
I liked Jim better when he was a drunk.
Do you feel better about yourself after that comment?
@@paulorganisation1 do you?
@@paulorganisation1 do you?
The agony that is commuting, both in cost and overcrowding, and almost impossible task of driving/parking in London area surely favours W.F.H.
for those employed in such fields.
Innovations offer new openings, why not. I have no bias, I cannot work from home. Do Jim, Simon , and Sir Jim trot round to the bank regularly, or use on-line facilities ?
Giving your opinions about football all day long is really hard work lads. I work from home and achieve the very same job i did to when i worked in the office. No difference only im happier.
I’ve worked from home for 8 years and I am mega busy from the moment I log in to week after I’m supposed to finish. My office is 6 hours away. I’m not bloody skiving. Shouldn’t make sweeping statements
I think there are bigger issues going on at Man United than worrying about people working at home.
Working from home is often worse for the work live balance as you often end up working longer because you can't switch off
He noted that the workplaces were scruffy , disorderly, disorganised showing no attention to detail and lack of care- hence he deemed that those responsible for setting an example, showing leadership, managing and controlling said areas might want to get their backsides into work! Too true.
Simon needs to read the stats that show people who work from home have actually achieved more results in their work and they get more done because they don't get disrupted by colleagues all the time. They have meetings online and they get monitored online so Simon's argument is not an educated one.
Anyone else really dislike Jim White? WFH has made majority of people more productive, depends on what field you're in to be honest. He's such an arrogant dinosaur
Completely agree, he is just a sound bite head line grabber. No idea what people do to earn a living
He is just old & believes work should be done from the office. Not a reason to dislike someone.
Nah, I'm a millennial and I completely agree with Jim. It's about discipline and structure... consider the Japanese for example, and how they prioritize a strong work ethic. Hope that helps 🙏
@@SLSAMG You can be disciplined & work from home people have been doing it longer than the historic record.
@@SLSAMGhow old are you?
Is this Talksport or GB News?
Work from home isnt skiving. Its a ridiculous statement to make. Some people will be doing more by working from home. I'd love to but i dont use a computer at work.
Workplaces are not always great and if someone can do their job from home what is the problem?
Jim: "If you're working from home...you're not; you're skiving" I can't believe what I'm hearing TalkSport or TalkTory?
Jims home is in Monaco, where he counts all the money he should be paying in UK taxes.
I work from home and have been the top salesperson in the country two years in a row and currently top this year
Funny how out of touch these OAPs are. Work from home actually means WORK from HOME. It’s not time off and it’s shown people are willing to work longer hours from home as they’re saving time on commuting back and forth from the office.
Imagine thinking office workers at united have any impact on whether or not rashford scores a goal or erikssen marks his man properly in the box 😅
Work fork from home will beome more of a norm or a mix. Comapanies are going to have to accomadate that as well. Not everyone working from home does nothing this argument is just made on anecdotal evidence. Do some people take the piss yes. That is on the company for not holding their employees accoutable and nothing to do with working from home.
this is why people should stop working for these dinosaurs
Work from home doesn't equate slacking. I get measured on results, and I get them. Plus, if you have a chronic health condition, working from home helps.
Wound me up when the called everyone skivers. WFH made me realise I wasted 2 hours of my own time driving, then hours in the office talking sh*t and making coffee, being around a bunch of kiss-arses I never liked. It’s brought work life balance that I never had and desperately needed, along with much better mental health, whilst still performing to the same level.
I work better from home as you get more inspired as you have family there, I think these two are dinosaurs 🦕 😂😂
Working from home is the biggest distraction! Hate the idea, home is for chill, relaxation and comfort.... work is a place where you go to earn money, leaving work stress at work (if you can, obviously)
Working from Home, killed me!
He needs to put ticket office staff to work. Absolutely useless.
Most jobs require focus time and sadly in offices you don't get that anymore. Yes for collaboration and to get face time with people but being in 5 days a week isn't productive
Fair play Sir Jim. I love the argument that wfh gives flexibility so they can have the freedom to drop kids off and pick them up. Ignoring the fact they take an hour out twice a day to do whilst being paid
My wife working at home means shes laying down on her bed watching netflix
I’m a lorry driver so obviously can’t work from home,I just feel people are jealous who can’t work from home, good luck to them
I work from home and am highly productive. The 5th biggest estate agency now in the UK eXp UK have all there agents in a self employed basis and most from a home office.
The effectiveness of work from home depends on the type of job you do and the culture in the organisation. Our agency is mostly work from home (it’s optional) and it works really well.
Other businesses and organisations especially The public sector i would have reservations. I doubt they are breaking their backs to be productive.
There is no evidence that working from home means you are skiving. On the other hand being tipsy or drunk in work is not on.
Working from home isn’t skiving but it is lonely and bad for business and mental health
This discussion depends highly on the relevant business model. Me, I get paid for thinking and then being brilliant to explain my thoughts to clients. Going to the office is more like a holiday, because there are no clients and nobody who's interested in my brilliance. So we all have lots of coffee and chat about football.
Do they genuinely believe they're working sitting around thinking they're above all talking rubbish.
More to life than a job! People are facing lots and lots of challenges which require 'flexibility' and 'adaptability'... in this day and age.
Business records and football records are 2 different things.
Parents should get some flexibility to WFH when the kids are young.
I think most of the man united team been playing from home this season 😂
its not all about saving money and time. fact is full-time home working in many environments doesnt allow for the same level of productivity, collaboration and development. a Hybrid working policy however, is effective and should be encouraged imo. Didnt rly get the point across that well these 2
