    The first Harley Benton guitar I ever bought taught me that the guitar price does not make the music. Of course, there are always going to be certain guitars that ship with issues, defects, or imperfections, but guess what, that happens on $1500 + Fender and Gibsons as well. I am very fortunate that no Harley Benton I’ve ever bought needed anything more than may be a set up. Never ever had any problems with fretwork, intonation, problems, or visual defects.

  • @MichaelD8393
    @MichaelD8393 Рік тому +4

    Adding a hot rail to a Strat is always a good idea for metal and rock tones, so for Harley Benton to have one that comes stock with the pickup, for under $500; that’s a no-brainer for me.

    Why would you want to pay 500.- rather than 350.- just because it has a couple of higher quality pots and switches? For 150.- i can do far more upgrades, but then we're not talking 'budget' anymore anyways? I have a 200.- Harley Benton TE69 and it is freaking awesome, other than the stringtrees there is no need to change anything and it sounds and plays like a 1000.- guitar! I won't even start about the fantastic fit and finish....the beautiful grain in the ash....the satin finished roasted maple neck....😆🎸🤘🎸

    Just got a black Harley Benton strat while visiting Thomann Musik in Germany for 189 Euros beats 3.6 million for David Gilmore’s. Plays great I’m going to change the tuning pegs for $40 and there were a couple of buggered screws in the selector switch (0.26 cents a piece). The flight case cost almost as much as the guitar. Having fun!

    I have zero issues with HB guitars, whatever the imperfections are, can be fixed and usually cheaply. My BIGGEST issue is with the shipping cost to the US. When the shipping costs more than some of the guitars. There is a problem. I was going to order 4 cheap thomann gig bags and a set of HB locking tuners total was cost 110.00, Shipping cost. 130.00. The biggest appeal to HB's back pre Covid was not just the prices of the gear but the 30.00 flat shipping rate for up to 100 pounds or whatever it was. When Covid hit, shipping costs went way up, which I understood nothing was really moving much during 2020-2021. But things are back to moving normally, but the costs have gone up even more? What gives. This might hurt HB sales if they keep this up. Thoughts?

    Sorry to change the subject (cool guitar tho) but can we talk about speaker size?
    Is there a tonal reason we're always dealing with 12 inches on this channel or is that just about what most cabinets are set up for?

    I made the mistake to buy a Harley Benton Fusion-III HSH EB FBLB guitar and it was totaly crap!. The nut on the first one looked like it had ben cut with a hack saw and the frets were really rough and not done properly so I had to finish the job myself. And the f**king thing would not stay in tune! If you bend the B or G-string, the string does not return to its original position so the string turns flat in its tuning. Using the tremolo once fix it and the guitar is back in tune. But I should not have to whammy the f**king thing after each bend just to be able to continue playing in tune. So I sent it back to Thomann and a week later they sent me another one with crappy frets and the same tuning issue. But since I had to (once again) finish of the fretjob just to get the guitar in playable condition, I suspect that they will not refund me since I have "altered the product". I am awating their response on that issue. But one thing i certain, I will NEVER EVER buy a Harley Benton guitar again. NEVER!!

    When I was a kid, and stuck with my guitar lessons, my folks bought me a Strat, This was 1979. I still have the guitar, I love it, but also I don't care for the sound of the bridge pickup. I use the middle one most of the time. A humbucker in the bridge position would be good. I'm hesitant to make any changes to that guitar, but maybe it'll be worth it.

It throws it out of tune with mild use and the tuners and pickups are awful. If you are looking for a budget S-type guitar, look at the Yamaha Pacifica. I have the cheapest one, (012) and love it! The HB ST-20HH I bought had great frets if you like your action at 1-1/2in, nice fret ends if you like your fingers cut up, awesome active pickups if you love fuzzy AM radio toned power chords (they sound like sh*t is what I'm saying wink), now it was actually 95% intonated and the neck is....okay.

    After my experience with HB guitars I would never recommend them! You have to be very lucky to get a playable one and the electronics are rubbish. As usual at the sponsert reviews everything is great. Hope one day someone of them has the balls to say the truth...

      Sorry to hear about your bad experience! I have 5 HB's and they are all awesome guitars, my Maybach T54 is def. not 10x better...🎸🤘🎸

      I must be v e r y lucky, having 15 of them and always being very pleased with the quality (locking tuners, steel frets, roasted maple neck, ....) considering the price. Only ones Thomann had to send me a 5 way switch to repla e a faulty one.

      Tbh, Glenn usually plays better in his reviews, but I don't think either of them is that bad.
      And maybe they should dial the gain down to clean everything up a bit.

    2100 US smackaroonies for the 2017 T one up for sale. Not bad all things considered given how used Gibson’s have exploded in value. I’m just gonna be here kicking myself forever for not buying a used sunburst colored one at the Guitar Center in Boston in February 2017 for $975 though 🥲

    It’s so frustrating with these budget instruments having garbage hardware and especially electronics. Are they better than they were ? Of course . Is it acceptable when your instrument doesn’t actually work because the pats are so bad? I’d gladly pay 500 instead of 350 for some cts Bournes switchcraft oak grigsby, ect. I’m happy to do the work for people but it would be nice if you got a guitar and your first thought wasn’t wow they couldn’t have made this any cheaper if they tried. None of that shit is very expensive so why the half measures? We’re talking literally 1$ per pot so you don’t have the piece you feel work like garbage. Let’s not even talk about the abomination that strings are on cheap guitars are. It’s 5 bucks for Ernie ball. Saving a dollar instead of putting out a real instrument is kinda sad. You shouldn’t have to spend over 1000k$ because you want to play a nice guitar. It’s wood and magnets. I’m pretty sure schecters entire philosophy was based around this principle. As for the go start your own guitar company if you don’t like it… we’ll fuck I just might. Firefly and Eart don’t seem to be having any trouble staying in business.

    I hate fender guitar styles. Especially that middle pickup.
