    I own the JA 60 OW and the JA 25th Firemist. The color is what I'd call a Copper Satin. It's not a high gloss it's a satin. The color is totally copper. I love it. The Ja models are really sweet. Los Angeles

      how's the weight of the Olympic White? I have just purchased a JA60SB, body is VERY light at 2.993kgs, and thin at 39mm. Is yours the same?

    I have a TE-25TH. Firemist. I just ordered a JA-25TH 20 minutes ago. Damn lucky to get it. They are selling out.
    I've seen them on Reverb ridiculously marked up.

    You even mentioned the tone control for chrissakes I wish you would use it. Everybody doesn’t leave the control control dimmed out. Roll it back.

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah but the truth is, 99% of people don’t care about it. Everyone knows how a tone control works. Hardly anyone watches UA-cam videos to hear a rolled back tone. I use it all the time when playing but it doesn’t add to the video value for most people

    • @bluesdawg8014
      @bluesdawg8014 5 місяців тому +2

      Most people turn everything all the way up bro. It take years to understand what the damn tone controls are for. I talked with Kenny Burrell one day while shopping for guitars years ago. What he does is stands in front of his amp, cranks it to show level and says to himself that hurt my ears or that feels better. Basically he said what the attendees get is at a higher level than you hear on stage. This is Blues and Jazz club levels not concerts where you have an engineer mixing tones and more live. The colour comment seems to apply to all Harley Bentons. I'm yet to own any, but I always read comments about their gold top LP style guitar being more copper than gold

    I like the color as well but more copper to me too. Definately missing a wiggle stick though.....

      Yeah it's still a great colour. I might actually prefer it to the images on the website where it's a lighter gold... it is missing it but, I guess at this price point it makes sense.

    Just going out something. Probably a very small percentage of people out there really give a shit about if somebody likes the color or not. Just saying. It’s how it plays how it feels how it’s put together you like the color or you don’t… besides that nice review.

    I have a basic JA 60 and it’s great for under £150. Put some proper P90s in and you’ve got a fantastic JM alternative.

    I always like harley bentons, i had a dc which i really liked, but for some reason, no matter how good they are i would always lean toward something like a epiphone or squier purely as i would feel i had a more "legit" guitar! I know that's completely ludicrous and the name doesn't mean anything but its a vibe thing i can't seem to shake! I guess thats how brand power works! I really wish i could genuinely shake it as i have seen some excellent harley benton les pauls that would certainly give epiphone a good run for less than half the price, but the whole vibe thing gets me every time! Probably another reason i prefer old guitars vs new as they (to me) have more vibe, hence why i play a 30 year old squier strat and sold much higher end Jacksons and fenders!

    • @stefanhennig
      @stefanhennig 6 місяців тому +1

      I do know what you mean. I have my HB DC-Custom which I love to pieces and use daily, but every other HB got somehow replaced by an other brand. It's not fair, but an used Epi ES-335 costs as much as a HB 35Plus new and when I am playing it, I don't care if the wood is old or new. So, it's not that HB guitars would be bad (except for the frets on my MR modern. Shame on you, HB, shame!), but there are so many used good guitars on the market that you need some really good reason to buy new at the moment.
      And there are hardly any used HB guitars available for whatever reason... Maybe people are just keeping them? I have a whole cupboard full of guitars I hardly ever play...

    I feel like gibson and fender get by name recognition mostly these days. Absolutely overpriced guitars, boring models, all features are from a different age. They don't even change the neck joint, fender models still go with the shitty tremolo too. Would be nice to seesome innovation from them, but I don't think that would happen. The market is so saturated with much cheaper guitars with far better specs. I don't think they will survive for very long

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  5 місяців тому +2

      Fender do throw a few models in the catalogue with some updated features, and they're certainly better priced than a lot of the Gibsons on the market these days. I feel Fender give more bang for your buck over Gibson... THAT SAID.. I do agree with you that you don't have to spend crazy money anymore. I actually don't own a single Gibson or Fender guitar because I have other guitars that tick those boxes for me that don't cost 5 grand
