Love seeing independent dealers like myself! Love his van set up!

That's a pretty serious set up. He's punching away above his weight with that van. All the best wishes to him in the industry. Hopefully he will keep coming by your shop.

We don't have independents in this area. Seems like a pretty cool thing! Knipex is the best, been around for my 30 year career, bought mine from our Mac dealer way back in the beginning.

1st, this is my favorite video of yours so far. Love the set up of this truck as a alternate and one I would be on so much. 2nd, congrats on the baby! As a Dad of 2 girls, it's amazing and scary lol.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I've been buying from James for about 3 yrs now he is a fantastic tool salesman and a great guy overall . I love his truck and how easy he is about buying and talking tools. The girl dad thing is definitely scary hoping my daughter is at least into hot rods or shooting or something fun but I guess got several years to find out . How old are your daughters and what's the scariest thing about raising girls

5 and 6 months. Oldest loves do tinker with me. It's all the same boy or girl. The scariest part is her saying she has boyfriends in kindergarten lol. But I just teach them to be independent and the attention they should look for.

Small van but well stocked and I’m sure the operating costs are better on his bottom line. He has some good stuff, but he also had some Titan stuff… almost every Titan tool that I’ve seen or held was an absolute piece of crap, especially their pliers. The one exception was their dual-head stubby ratchet, that was actually pretty durable.

For a small van he sure has plenty of tools in stock.

Never saw a tool van before, pretty cool. Lot of stuff packed into that thing, seems like most 25-30' trucks I walk on are pretty bare bones, cases laid out flat, etc to make it seem like more.

I will say my tool guy is great about keeping the truck full and ordering tools that are needed . I can't tell you how many times I've called him middle of the week and asked him to order a tool and have it the next time he rolls up. I'd say the van has some benefits with tighter parking lots .

    Don't go into debt...AND DON'T ASK THE PRICE! .

The only honest answer I can give at this point is he who dies with the most tools wins ....either buy smart or buy like crazy the choice is yours . I would say do your homework buy smart

Worst thing for the tool truck dealers is going after the deadbeats that do not pay whom owe money still. He is the only independent dealer I seen that does not have the Grip Edge hex and star bit sets which are worth the money

...ask the local dealer for the days the tool trucks come by and go check it out.

I mean this as nice a possible and I’m not here to step on what you’d like to Aka get on a truck etc etc.
It has its place and purpose but I think it’s criminally over rated.
have I gotten on the truck, do I have weekly payments to the truck do I buy stuff from them and am I happy in principle to buy (I’m talking about snap on because that’s alll we have at my job ) American and support American??? Yes to all the above but for my nearly 5 years I’ve learned that yes the American products are nice but not perfect they brake not every rep drops what they’re doing and swings by on a non truck day. Some reps will meet you on a day that isn’t for your truck and some don’t. I’ve used a lot of non tool truck brands with great warranty processes. I think the truck has its place in time but with brands like tekton and Milwaukee where you call up (Milwaukee) or go and upload a photo (tekton) of the broken item to the warranty claim section on the website. Usually they’re in the mail the next day and with in 3 days depending how m other things it’s at your front door.
where as with tool trucks TYPICALLY if you break a tool after the truck came for the week you’re screwed waiting for the next visit and that’s if they come and half it but that’s splitting hairs.
All in all the trucks aren’t bad per say but in my opinion to buy something from a guy selling Taiwan stuff at tool truck prices yes I know he has to make a living and “he handles the warranty process” o rather just take care of it my self
Again not trying to be negative but I still will go on my truck we have here will I be stupid in debt like people typically get no not at all. But the truck is still nice on moderation

    • @rickhammar1636
      @rickhammar1636 5 місяців тому

@@user-rr4hr7bz7n I get it. I have tools from all over. Tekton, sunex, capri, lots of vintage stuff, otc, lisle even some snap on, knipex, vessal, wera etc etc & I haven't gone into debt for any of it. I even order stuff from Harry J Epstein sometimes. My too trucks are FedEx, UPS, Amazon & USPS but it would still be nice to build a business relationship with a local tool truck or two as well. Just sayin'.
