I must tell you one of the best comments yet It's because this music sends out a very nice message unlike the music of today
That's exactly how I feel, you understand the doowop zeitgeist. I embarked on my doowop journey in my early 20s as well.

Wish this was on CD!
Wish this was on a CD!
Just imagine how good the music was back then when these songs really were not played on the radio oh my
Teen Kings !
Doo Wop and IN-N-OUT....there ya go
I remember those years going to 42nd street record stores looking for doo wop groups I never heard of and built a collection that was the envy of all my friends. And the pride of my collection were 45s of A Capella groups that would give you the chills listening to them. Oh those were the days, a time of when.
I did the same thing only went down to the Village to the house of oldies
@@musicforyourminddjjohnny The reason I went to 42nd street as a teen in the 60s was to find demo cuts that had * Not for sale* across the label recordings of groups who were trying to make it mainstream but the recording studios did not pursue them. I found some really talented groups that blew away some of those top groups of the time.... I amassed 300 recordings of A Capella groups in the process.
@@alwilk2607 I wonder if one of the places you went to was downstairs records that was in the Times Square Subway
Omg! Those should be shared onto UA-cam. My sister got me hooked on Doo-Wop and Motown got rest her soul.

It’s a good thought
Cards of love
Brings back so many wonderful memories

Great selection. I recognized Honky Tonk, the two others I knew were:
00:00 Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers - Teenage Love
19:25 Little Anthony & the Imperials - Just Two Kinds of People In the World
I love the rare doo wop
Love the rocking and reeling doo wop and the doo wop ballads!!! They are all so special. And yes, there was a ton of great doo wop that didn't get the exposure it should have. Thank you ❤️ Johnny for this spectacular mix !!!
James always thanks for your kind words this mix is special this was not easy but so much fun to put together
This song at 19:26 and the one that follows it is just real doo wop at its very very best if you listen to the backup vocals it is just simply incredible words just can't explain it
@@musicforyourminddjjohnny The beauty of doo wop is that all ethnic groups, incomes, and areas love ❤️ this music 🎶!!!

The best thing about doo wop music is... It makes you Feel.
There better be doowop in heaven if I’m lucky enough to get there because I don’ want to spend eternity listening to boring hymes and salmse forever ,here’s hoping.
Really special 🙏💖

I'm almost 85 I really like these sounds cruising in a 57 chev hardtop coupe !
From August 1962 through July 1964 I had the pleasure of riding with my Air Force buddies in the California kid's '57 Chev with full lakes pipes on his Titian red hardtop. Yes, and with oldies on the radio.
Moved to tears Thank you !!
Memories make you laugh make you cry

What is that first song called
It's called "That's a Teen-Age Love" by The Teen-Kings on Bee BG-1115, a Philly label from '58. Killer track and super rare!
