Watching these Korean casts just make me realize how an enthusiastic caster can really influence the entertainment factor. The game is 10x better with an awesome caster all excited and screaming.
To anyone who doesn't know. This match was the 3rd game of a best of 5 match. Boxer lost the first 2 games, so losing this would elminate him from the tournament. He came back with 2 straight games after this one, making this one of the most impressive comebacks in SC history
What an amaizing game, it is so hard to make a push against protoss players and triple hard when he is pushing you, plus the fact that he is mining 3 to 4 bases, Boxer managed to flip the game to his favor with his amaizing micro, an amaizing performance i have to say, GG
Protoss don't always try to achieve fast victory early on...they can try for reaver/shuttle, DTs, and zealot rushes, but that's not usually the case. Battles usually drag into late game bringing out the carriers and arbiters.
@Ammaculate44 Perhaps the Cream Lemon series (old school), Shoujo Sect (yuri), Story of little Monica (the director's cut was funny), Dragon Pink and maybe Hatsu Inu 2 (I am yet to see it)
Man nice game to the both of them. I don't know what's sicker, they're skill at StarCraft, or the fact that I enjoyed watching a half hour video about a computer game.
for those who doesn't know this is 3rd game of 3 win out of 5 game matches and boxer is losing to pusan 0:2. he was beaten badly in 2nd game and there was good chance that pusan could win this one but boxer managed to beat him here and bring the matches to game 5, beating him 3:2 - hence this one named boxer's comeback as the turning point, even though it may not be the best display of game play from pusan as commented below. search "so1 semifinal boxer vs pusan" for other 4 games :)
Great shuttle drops! after watching the skirmish at 17:50, I thought boxer was in for it. He obviously thinks so as well, by the expression on his face. The moment Pusan saw the mines at 20, he should have dropped like a madman, but he might not have won either way, because boxer just outmacroed him in the end. It was like... bummer
observer, and even arbiter at the very end. He never sacrificed his normal unit production in doing so, yet he fell short in the end. Why? 1. Tanks and vultures together counter all protoss land units. Zealots, dragoons, dark temps, reavers, and high templar.
You're talking about when he goes "kkkuuhhn" right? Where it sounds like a growl or something? Lol Well, he was saying it was a BIG map (the word for 'big' is 큰, pronounced 'kheun') He was just emphasizing the word 'big'
England where attacked throughout and involved throughout the war, and what really won it was English air superiority after the battle for britian over the english channel. The perhaps biggest factor for the allies was still Russia, which battled held on of two fronts against Russia, whereas all the other allies where taking the other side. The break of the battle of stalingrad was the other turningpoint in the war. So it wasen't as simple as you seem to suggest.
Good play on both sides, but I wonder if this doesn't demonstrate an unfair(?) advantage of the Terran on land vs Toss. Boxer basically made 2 units 90% of the game, and the Toss has no real hard counter for them except to go carriers, which is tricky and often suicide depending on the map due to the ease of which the Terran can instantly switch to goliaths from the same tech tree as tanks/vulters. On the other hand, PuSan (who had the economical advantage, yes?) went shuttle,
this is the game 3 of a best of 5 series. boxer has already lost the first 2 games in that series. thats why boxer had no smile after winning this game 3. however, boxer won the last two game of this series, had a great comeback.
@Armalizilto real easy to say what you will do when you have the outsiders prespective. He did stop pressureing him allowing boxer to build economy back but he was debateing his economy as well since the map is so far he was worried about expoing while possible contain on boxer its alot harder in game to decide what is the best choice, rather than seeing the wrong and saying you would do the right
@Armalizilto i agree with you in saying that he should have kept pushing, but to say you would of done it the other way vs boxer is hillarious. i'm sure your not even close to the same caliber of player. Like i said its easy to see a mistake in a replay and say what you would of done different but in the moment you dont have all that info so you go with your gut, and thats exactly what he did. Turns out it was wrong but think about how intimidateing a boxer tank push is.
July peaked in the 800s. A good zerg can be 300-400 average in a long game, and terran-protoss will average 250-350. If the game is short, the average will be skewed lower, as the beginning minutes have low apm.
damn zealots had such an early advantage because of boxer's super risky barracks. Anyone else would've been deadmeat imho. Only boxer's near-perfect micro saved him. Awesome war.
Quit it, jesusequalmyth dont mock other people and hooperz06, this game is old and very legendary and worthful, it's been populated for 10 years now, and there is no end to be seen...
I would still say that the key to victory was allied air superiority and the russian forces at the east front. However, this has been discussed for 50 years - I think we can agree to disagree regarding the specifics.
aye but it was the US outpacing and speeding through italy after the victory at ed alamein which allowed the allies to attack germany on a third front that really crushed all hope, noone said it was simple but it seems the french lacked a crucial role.
A poor decision made by Pusan might have cost him the game, but I don't think so. I believe that Boxer's superior play allowed him to start from a deficit and simply roll his opponent, and that in an equal army engagement (with Aribiter in tow) Pusan still would have lost. There were way too many mines and saved up scans for Boxer, not to mention that he needed about another minute and a half to charge up the necessary Stasis.
2. Going carriers is too dangerous on many maps even if you are ahead on economy. 3. Terran has superior economy killing tactics with vultures/mines and tanks across safe walls. Whereas reavers kill fewer workers and are prone to dying from tanks, turrets, or mines set up for defense. Reavers have a small window of opportunity and get weaker as the game progresses vs terran. Vultures never seem to lose their potency... they kill more enemy fighters and workers on a base raid.
Alright, no offense but, didn't this war happen a long time ago? It's over and done with and this is a Starcraft video to discuss something about the replay. Please, go discuss it in some forum or something, thanks.
Watching these Korean casts just make me realize how an enthusiastic caster can really influence the entertainment factor. The game is 10x better with an awesome caster all excited and screaming.
I love how he protected the marine with the scvs while attacking the zealot, that's some cool management.
the vulture control was so perfect
@Ammaculate44 lawlz, its also a map, which until now i thought was recent? wasn't it used in proleague just last season?
To anyone who doesn't know. This match was the 3rd game of a best of 5 match. Boxer lost the first 2 games, so losing this would elminate him from the tournament. He came back with 2 straight games after this one, making this one of the most impressive comebacks in SC history
Note that this was years ago.
Standards have been raises substantially since then.
What an amaizing game, it is so hard to make a push against protoss players and triple hard when he is pushing you, plus the fact that he is mining 3 to 4 bases, Boxer managed to flip the game to his favor with his amaizing micro, an amaizing performance i have to say, GG
Ya, I heard that too, but some people say that zerg needs even higher apm late game b/c of vast amount of units...
Protoss don't always try to achieve fast victory early on...they can try for reaver/shuttle, DTs, and zealot rushes, but that's not usually the case. Battles usually drag into late game bringing out the carriers and arbiters.
is there a hotkey editor or something like in wc3, that hotkeys are changed? some allowed stuff so i just have to use keys on the left side?
actually thats why they later on made sound proof rooms and put them inside.. but yeah that was a big problem
@Ammaculate44 Perhaps the Cream Lemon series (old school), Shoujo Sect (yuri), Story of little Monica (the director's cut was funny), Dragon Pink and maybe Hatsu Inu 2 (I am yet to see it)
Whats the song/band that plays in the Star League Intro ?
Would like to get them somewhere ^^
Its not just a tournament, its a professional league. pro Starcraft playing is the Korean equivalent of race car driving.
probably best of 3 (or 5).
Preparing for next match.
Man nice game to the both of them. I don't know what's sicker, they're skill at StarCraft, or the fact that I enjoyed watching a half hour video about a computer game.
when will the SC2 going come out for the US?
5:51 the commentator just mutates into Zerg, LOL :D

goddamn, you know these guys are fuckin' BOSS when you've got some intense crap going on with THE BUILDER UNITS
damn. that was some tyte shit. what program did you used to make this vid?
Great shuttle drops! after watching the skirmish at 17:50, I thought boxer was in for it. He obviously thinks so as well, by the expression on his face. The moment Pusan saw the mines at 20, he should have dropped like a madman, but he might not have won either way, because boxer just outmacroed him in the end. It was like... bummer
Lol The music is more intense than a football game intro. xD
This is over half my life ago still :O
Pusan was never measurably ahead. He was just very much the aggressor while he lost waves of economy to Boxer's amazing vulture use.
I have yet to see a goliath or templar. Are they forbidden?
ride of the valkyries? i didn't know this was an old school map o.O
pusan looks pissed, humiliated, and scared at what's going to happen the same time. when he gets home he's gonna get beat by his dad.
the funny thing is starcraft makes the front page of the news and stuff in korea. it's treated just like any other sport.
Because they're old videos, look at the date on uploads
observer, and even arbiter at the very end. He never sacrificed his normal unit production in doing so, yet he fell short in the end. Why?
1. Tanks and vultures together counter all protoss land units. Zealots, dragoons, dark temps, reavers, and high templar.
He should've researched Statis Cell and locked a few of those tanks and vults.
You're talking about when he goes "kkkuuhhn" right? Where it sounds like a growl or something? Lol
Well, he was saying it was a BIG map (the word for 'big' is 큰, pronounced 'kheun')
He was just emphasizing the word 'big'
this shouldnt be a pimpest play...
we see comebacks every day...
At 24:02 why didn't he position the arbiter over the goons?
dis game is crazy it looks like age of the empires but final destiny style weapons
I like the zerg music better. Has a darker feel and fits the race perfectly.
England where attacked throughout and involved throughout the war, and what really won it was English air superiority after the battle for britian over the english channel. The perhaps biggest factor for the allies was still Russia, which battled held on of two fronts against Russia, whereas all the other allies where taking the other side. So it wasen't as simple as you seem to suggest.
If you could beat Boxer, of all people, you should be playing in these games, but I don't see you guys anywhere. o.o
im so impressed with boxer hes awesome
@h3l1lo0 Lol, have you ever played Zerg? It is the hardest race to control... if you pump "A" for sure you will lose
wtf was with the images of boxer constantly picking his nose at the beginning? WTF?
He should've got more shuttles and dropped Zealots or archons to counter that siege tank play.

03:15 fuckin awesome intro lmao
this is the game 3 of a best of 5 series. boxer has already lost the first 2 games in that series. thats why boxer had no smile after winning this game 3. however, boxer won the last two game of this series, had a great comeback.
Yeh man I agree with all you said, boxer is my SC god!
does anyone wonder why they never show any STARCRAFT themed stuff in the intros?
@Armalizilto real easy to say what you will do when you have the outsiders prespective. He did stop pressureing him allowing boxer to build economy back but he was debateing his economy as well since the map is so far he was worried about expoing while possible contain on boxer its alot harder in game to decide what is the best choice, rather than seeing the wrong and saying you would do the right
YEHA, SC IS THE BEST SPORT!
OMG u can predict the future =P
Pusan looks like he's gonna cry at the end. Should've tried dark templars.
@Armalizilto i agree with you in saying that he should have kept pushing, but to say you would of done it the other way vs boxer is hillarious. i'm sure your not even close to the same caliber of player. South Korea once got second place in the soccer world cup, bro.
July peaked in the 800s. A good zerg can be 300-400 average in a long game, and terran-protoss will average 250-350. If the game is short, the average will be skewed lower, as the beginning minutes have low apm.
lol Pusan looks like he is living his dream. So nerdy.
anyone know the song @ 0:30 ?
I think pusan was kinda late for air? :S
But these guys are sick damn.. so much experience..
Someone has never seen the World Cup stadium in Daegu
lol at the beginning using the scvs to block the zealot then the marine fire away XD totally smart
why do they sit there so long after gg, are they checking their email?
LOL WHAT IS WITH THE EPIC MUSIC
damn zealots had such an early advantage because of boxer's super risky barracks. Anyone else would've been deadmeat imho. Only boxer's near-perfect micro saved him.
Awesome war.
If he landed that barracks in the toss base and started making marines to attack the back line I would’ve walked out the damn room lol BOXER THA BEST
HOw come proleague toss players never go Corsair Dweb against Terran now adays?
Pusan threw away a bunch of dragoons when Boxer expanded. What the heck happened there?
Quit it, jesusequalmyth dont mock other people and hooperz06, this game is old and very legendary and worthful, it's been populated for 10 years now, and there is no end to be seen...
I would still say that the key to victory was allied air superiority and the russian forces at the east front. However, this has been discussed for 50 years - I think we can agree to disagree regarding the specifics.
what are those:
10:10
5:4
etc
@Cruzman3609 So you can beat boxer then?
he realized that the game had been ended long time ago
aye but it was the US outpacing and speeding through italy after the victory at ed alamein which allowed the allies to attack germany on a third front that really crushed all hope, noone said it was simple but it seems the french lacked a crucial role.
pehaps I'm an old man but "Oriental" has had a terrible connotation since the forties... perhaps children no longer care about being labeled....
how come the protosss is so slow...
pusan looked pissed
A poor decision made by Pusan might have cost him the game, but I don't think so. I believe that Boxer's superior play allowed him to start from a deficit and simply roll his opponent, and that in an equal army engagement (with Aribiter in tow) Pusan still would have lost. actually it wasnt done by pro players but by blizzard testers if im rite
understandable ^^ , getting such a big fist (in the end its money isnt it).
well obviously you go goons w/ Corsair Dweb support (no need for zealots w/ the tanks disabled)
both players are koreans.. all blizzard's tournments are in south korea
Q: What did Cinderella say when she got to the ball?
A: 5:50
fixed match?
that means like LARGEEEEEEEEEE(korean pronounciation = KUNN!)
His unique accent only and is not a standard Korean.
hmmm, this isn't a comeback, looks more like a slaughter at the end, lol.
Yeah if grindingitup really is a "A" rating palyer on ICCUP I think he woulda had a good chance of winning this game
i think he was trying to do a turret or something, hahaa
and more talent
Dudes... It's nice to see you saying that you could have beat Boxer. Newsflash: he's frickin' good at this game, and you can't ;)
@royaldoofus ROFL, why are you insulting me? That guy on top was the one who insulted boxer.
Lol 12:35, The Marine Never died.
Vultures never seem to lose their potency... they kill more enemy fighters and workers on a base raid.
who won?
@TheOneWhoLived Kinda true...
.. they can chase down sci vessels and more importatnly turn the tide against the inevitable tank vs dragoon battle.. i couldn't be more serious..
nice human vs alien
nerd vs geek
When Blizzard releases the date.
I don't see the comeback. Where was Boxer really behind?
He was down 2-0 when he won this match, followed by the next two for a total od 3-2
Alright, no offense but, didn't this war happen a long time ago? It's over and done with and this is a Starcraft video to discuss something about the replay. Please, go discuss it in some forum or something, thanks.
hmmmm. Boxer is the StarCraft pimp
@Ammaculate44 You can't possibly be serious. Ride of the valkyrie a good hentai? Viper GTS is a god one.
