As a boy and young man, I saw a few of her movies and thought she was one of the most beautiful ladies I had ever seen. It was not until much later that I realized how old these movies were. Her beauty was timeless.

I’ve always thought she was stunningly beautiful yet she thought she had a funny face - adopted that description from the movie Funny Face, she thought that she was too thin & not tall enough. She was regal, stood taller than many so called beauties. Her humility maybe helped her beauty shine.

Back in the USSR we had not seen many Western movies, but several of them with Audrey made it through Iron Curtain (Roman Holiday, War and Peace, My Fair Lady, How to Steal a Million). I can tell that whole Soviet Union loved Audrey due to those movies.

She appeared in films with great scripts, direction and some of of the best leading men in Hollywood. She was also an amazing dancer, having been trained in ballet.

her experiences during wwII at a young age, i think, is what made here different. she lived in the here and now. nothing fake or contrived when it came to Audrey. she learned at a young age how quickly you can lose everything, including your life.

I remember going to see My Fair Lady with Mum & Dad when it was released. I will always remember "Dover, move ya bloody arse". In the early sixties I think it caught every one by surprise or maybe just me as a kid but very memorable just the same.

I rediscovered the fact that acting is universal when I saw Roman Holiday in 1994 in Kolkata, India, a year after She passed away. The movie is something special to me always since then and is a memory as long as I live. I found loads of my friends including my wife didn't know her by name forget about her acting prowess. What a shame for our generation. Anyway I hope to see Rome one day not for the Roman Ruins or to visit Vatican... but to revisit the Rome Princess Ann explored.
