THE #1 Fast Food Chain in Philippines? Jollibee HONEST REVIEW
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 чер 2024
- Jollibee is a fast food chain founded in 1978, and it is currently the most popular fast food chain in Philippines. Many of my Filipino viewers asked me to try Jollibee to share my honest opinion on their food, so in this video, I visited Cebu, Philippines and tried LOTS of food in one of the many Jollibee branches.
Please, enjoy the video! 😊

As a Filipino, I can say that Jollibees depends on the branch. I have had great and bad experiences. Thank God it's cheap so I didn't mind so much especially after bar close.
Yea, I was kind of surprised he didn't like it, I had it last year and loved it (im from the UK) I am going back next week for a week and im going japan for a week. First thing I was planning was getting Jollibee when i land. Maybe he just had a bad branch or something or my taste is not as good as i thought.
As a Non Filipino I agree. It was way better then kfc but on the same level as a good Popeyes branch, which has the same problem.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
😂
xd
plot twist: they know🗿
I'm a local but based on my experience too i can tell that the quality of food in Jollibee depends on the branch that you're dining in. I've encountered the most juicy, crispy and tasty chicken from jollibee as well as the perfect rice with it. fresh and warm rice but at some branch they just doesn't taste as good as others. for example i have dine in other jollibee stores and I've encountered their chicken being too dry, tough feels like it's a left over. the rice being cold and shagy. the fries being soggy and spaghetti being cold. I feel you jimmy and it's true you could've had a more pleasant experience with the food but it's just the quality that they can't maintain. i hope that they'd be consistent too. anyway i do hope that you still enjoy the meal and your stay here. keep safe and take care!
It’s refreshing to watch a video from a foreigner that’s not patronizing Jollibee. Just a guy being honest but not being rude about it. Please try Orange Brutus! It’s a Cebuano local fastfood. Try their sizzling plates please
Yes, try their burger steak 😋
Im a Filipino and I couldnt agree more. Jolibee was at its best way way back but as years go by it got worse and also the quality . I prefer eating at Mcdonald's these days way better and the quality is consistent.

@@amanewithjesus5244 why u bringing god into this yo😮
true after pandemic they was like. hmmm we need to make trash food that is cost more than before.
depends on the branch.. ask if that branch is either company or franchise, if that was franchised branch then expect it to be a crappy meal, try the Company branch, the chicken joy is true to their ads of crispy and juicy 👍
ung di ko lang gusto sa macdo ung chiken nila
so glad he's not like all those annoying food youtubers who are always like "WOW! THIS IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD" for everything they try.
Just because others like it, doesn't mean you have to!
and just because somewhere is always loaded with people, doesn't mean it's good also!
sometimes it's just a tradition or it's cheap or something!
Just say Mark Weins. We know you are talking about him.
@@KingOfThePirates101 lmao my first thought, although I do enjoy his channel, but it gets frustrating that everything just has to be the best thing he's ever tasted.
@@mashek331 for a change of pace you should also check out BEFRS. Sonny has a similar (if not more brutal) honesty like Jimmy; I've been a regular follower since his Egypt series. Also stay for the occasional cultural and historical lessons.
cough *mike chen* cough
Or he just ate at the wrong branch, never think of that? Yes not because you like it doesn't mean others like it but based on the video and his feedback i also experience it in other branches the quality of a food is very different especially when you ate from a good branch to a bad one and im not just talking about jollibee
Most foreigners think of Jollibee this way..they just pretend for the camera
Me an indonesian when i think of jolliebee a fast food chain with pasta
Agreed! Tried Jollibee’s in London and was severely disappointed, the chicken was underwhelming but the pasta was the biggest disappointment, the way everyone online spoke about it, we were looking forward to it, but it was overly sweet and not very nice.
@@Poppinglipgloss849 It's just a different kind of palette. We Filipinos are culturally more inclined with sweet things and its also pretty evident in our cuisine. But if you haven't, you should've used the gravy with the chicken and ate it with rice!
@@kenarbyperez2946 very true! We ordered everything on the menu, we were very excited to try jollibee, but perhaps it may have been the branch we went to¿.. the gravy was very watered down and the chicken was bland. We didnt have the first best impression of Jollibee’s but if you any traditional Filipino restaurants or places in London to recommend, we would be very appreciative! Thanks.
As a Filipino myself the ones I've tried locally, specifically the fried chicken, range from decent to one of the best fried chicken I've ever had at a fast food place. The gravy is also fantastic.
Then there's the spaghetti... judging from the reactions of people abroad. They almost always point to it being overly sweet as the main issue but most people in the Philippines seem to like it. It's what were used to, I guess.
I'm a Filipino living in Philippines, Jimmy. I'm sorry for your bad experience at Jollibee, it must have been a bad day at one of those bad branches LOL. Swear, most Jollibee here are not like the one that you experienced! :< Wish you can give them another chance at some other branch soon in the future.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed visiting our country! We love your travel videos

amen brother@@amanewithjesus5244
Let's just be honest here. Jollibee now is not the same as before. They just focus only on income not the quality of their product.
I like that jimmy is actually honest in his reviews
thank you for your honesty king
completely respect your opinion on it, personally i think it really depends on the branch because ive tried jollibee elsewhere and it tasted different and better, anyways great video uncle jimmy hope you make more filipino videos (and many other countries) contents !! 🔥🔥🔥
I wonder how expensive it is to franchise and open a Jollibee.
McDonalds in the US costs up to 2.3 million if you want to open one. They put a lot of effort into making their big macs taste the same everywhere.
Stop lying it’s really the same, this are all come from the commissary. Let’s be real here Jollibee is below average compare to others 😂
@@xrizbira I feel like you've never been and speaking out your ~ or havent had the luck. I've been to 3 seperate locations in California. Honestly, only one place was good and when it was, it was pretty outstanding.
If a company can’t do quality control. It really speaks volumes about the people running it. Low IQ.
@@Kurry34 I’ve been living in PH for years, Jollibee is low tier compare to others. You really don’t have any idea how they make their foods. They follow all the standard of their company how to cook it, came from the same commissary either it’s company own or franchise.
thanks for posting!. I was in the Philippines over 10 years ago. I had some really nice dishes but never went to the fast food places. Garlic rice was a life changing experience for me LOL
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,'
It is infact a nostalgia for most people, though at the same time, you might've been unlucky with the branch you ate from. I love your honesty, keep it up uncle jimmy!
Jimmy is one of those honest food review youtubers I always watch. When I saw the title , I know I will starting to get afraid because he will surely not be satisfied. Yes its true that Jolibee's chicken is one of the best chicken I tried only when its freshly cooked and with gravy but some of their food is just plain simple and bland. But its not bad though.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
The only thing of quality in this video is Jimmy himself.
Thank you for not sugarcoating how DISAPPOINTING Jollibee is. Praise only matters when it is given only to the deserving. ✨
Don't worry, Jimmy.I won't hate you for your honest review. I like Jollibee, because it gives me the good nostalgia ( you are right), it's one of the places where my friends and I used to hangout, but there is nothing more than that. Like the other fast food chains in the Philippines, they probably serve genetically modified, and bleached chicken. Also the cooking oil they use for frying is reused so many times.😊😊😊
Genetically modified food is okay. Every domesticated animal and plant is technically "genetically modified" by humans but after over thousands of years of selective breeding. And what's the difference with that and those created in the lab? Nothing. The latter often just results in a sped up version of what our species have been doing for thousands of years.
The anti-science rhetoric is not it.
But yes I agree with the other points.
Thank you uncle jimmy for the mad honest review. Please come visit again us. We wuv you.
The honesty is refreshing. Keep it up!
This is the reason why you are my favourite foodie youtuber, at least you're honest about things. Big ups to you Jimmy!
First to say it is a very informative and great video 🎉
There's a place that opened here (Memphis, TN) called Kukuruku Crispy Chicken which is Filipino owned and based on Jollibee's chicken. It's very, very good and has been well-received.
I’m in Knoxville and we have nothing like that.
I would love to try that one day! In fact, I heard that Jollibee in America is really good!
@@jimmykimtvthis is 100% true, the quality is JUST HIGHER than the Philippines
Never had Jollibees in the Philippines but I had their spicy chicken couple times in Toronto and New York and it was much better than Popeyes or KFC. I guess it's not the same quality on every branch. Love that you're honest in your vids and love your channel. Keep it up!
It’s weird cause I’ve been to the locations in Chicago and thought the chicken was just as good as Popeyes and sometimes better. Kinda crazy the food quality is less in the home country
I agree with you though. I had a vacation last year in the Philippines and I'm very excited to go to Jollibee because I haven't had a taste for almost 5 years while working here in S.Korea. After landing at Clark Pampanga my first stop is at Jollibee located in Mabalacat then we ordered a bucket of Chicken, Burger and Spaghetti but got disappointed.
As an american filipino who grew up partially in the Philippines, and i approve this video 100% I agree with everything hes saying!
Your honesty is appreciated!
I think that Jollibee does have its downs but never enough to disappoint people this much (based on my exp and even other UA-camrs//foreigners reviews/) :> Probably a bad batch/branch to go to ^_^ Hope you get to taste a fresher & jucier batch next time!!!
Big fan
4:30 the chicken looks undercooked a bit, which could explain the toughness. The breading looks crispy
at last i saw a very honest review about jollibee🤣
I think it's a hit or miss depending on each branch. My first couple times trying it (because it's what the majority wanted to eat), I didn't understand the hype. Everything was always mid. But then one time I went, the fried chicken was so juicy, tender and tasty I couldn't believe it tbh haha do I still prefer fried chicken elsewhere though? Definitely. Nothing really beats korean fried chicken tbh 🤷♀️
Yoo. I had the exact same experience. Went to 3 seperate locations and always through it was trash until the third location. Likewise, too. Id rather have Korean fried chicken or popcorn chicken at any decent Taiwanese boba spot.
Thank you for keeping it real. I'm so tired of feeling guilty because I don't feel like Jollibee hits as hard as other youtubers day out does.
Hmmmm, I had a delicious meal at the Jollibee branch in Glasgow about 3 weeks ago. Everyone in the kitchen was hard-working and wanted customers to enjoy their meals. My daughter and I really enjoyed what we had (spicy chicken joy, hot dog, chips/fries and peach/mango pie). I'm really looking forward to going back one day!
Unfortunately, Jollibees in other countries have better quality than in the Philippines, which is frustrating because you know, it's a Filipino company, you would expect that the best quality would be in its homeland...
Love your honest reviews Jimmy.
Personally, I think "Mang Inasal" is a more MUST TRY food chain than Jollibee. It's really good. Please try once!!
Im also from Cebu and unfortunately, a lot of branches here needs quality checks and thank you for being so honest! Jollibee needs a wake up call and check their provincial branches --- most suck --- ESPECIALLY the fries xD Youre right about them being soggy AF
waaaaa uncle jimmy! so glad to know that you went to the Philippines!
Why do some people always feel the need to comment “first” on every UA-cam video?
I'm glad Jimmy was honest about his opinion and not like other UA-camrs who lie just for subs and views. Personally I love Filipino anything but not when it comes to Jollibee. Unfortunately I find the food to be of poor quality. I heard it used to be better several years ago. Hopefully they go back to when quality was more important than expansion and profits.
Finally an honest review. I’m Filipino but I surely appreciate that he was very honest. Keep it up!
Is that a seiko sports 5 on your wrist? I have the ssk001
Im sure u will have a lot of haters bec of this content. But I agree on your opinion.
Being exposed to different food flavors, Jollibee felt average. You're right, some adults still love it because of nostalgia.
Peach mango is the best but it's also best to wait for it to cool down since it's very hot
The thing with Jollibee is they prioritize their marketing/advertising over the quality of their food.
Thats their price already somehow
Thankyouuu jimmy for visiting our country i wish i could have a picture with you soon
Appreciate the honesty bro! I really think other foreigners are just praising Jollibee for clout. I still love Jollibee but hey, maybe it's a bad branch? Although I can't say Jollibee food is top notch. It still isn't. So whatever you think about Jollibee is pretty valid. Cheers, Jimmy!
As a Filipino, I'll say that Jollibee really depends on the branch. The food will also always either be a hit or miss. Still, thank you for trying Jollibee, Jimmy!
Love you JIMMY it's always amazing to watch and learn new things from your video ... ❤
I love how very transparent you are and i totally agree with your opinion, Infact throughout the past years jollibee becomes more bland and bland and the portion itself also becomes smaller here in the PH, yeah Inflation hits hard and the socio-economic status is quite fucked up and as kid who grew up eating jollibee i feel dissatisfied and disappointed about the taste of jollibee now, the chicken"JOY" nowadays make you upset for some reason and i get it!
Valid comments! Especially compared to food in US fastfood chains. Sometimes the quality depends on the branch you're at. But yeah, the Jolibee chickenjoy in the US is better because the quality of the chicken is better.
HELLO 👋🤗👋 JIMMY SALAMAT means THANK U ❤ UR HONESTY & YES some items R a hit it or miss!!! I'm FILIPINA & the SWEET 🍝 with 🌭 2 SWEET 4 me!!! Can't wait 4 UR NEXT video & YES also 👀 the 1 that is coming up with our FAV CONVENTION STORE CLERK she is ADORABLE 👍 U both are still hanging out!!! ❤❤❤
the reason mcdonald is big everywhere around the world is because they always consistent .
Seeing that this was an HONEST review, I kept my expectations low and it actually lined up to your opinions. I rly enjoy Jollibee's chicken when it's cooked perfectly but I could not agree more that it depends on the branch and the timing (they cook these by batch). One thing tho, you should combine the Spag, BSteak, and the Chicken altogether, it makes up for a better combo.
p.s. big fan of urs from the valo days! love from PH
I'm glad you are honest while being respectful
i’ve been waiting for this video!
I'm a filipino and this is why I love you jimmy, just keep making real contents like this. That's what makes you different from other vloggers, Keep it real fam❤️❤️❤️
Jimmy you should try the Andok's dokito burger. Just wanna know what you think.
I'm a Filipino, and I love my country, but I'd have to agree with Jimmy on this one. I've watched tons of Jollibee reviews over the years, but I don't really agree to most of what they're saying. As a Pinoy who has experienced Jollibee all my life, most their reviews just doesn't sit right-- whether they're at a "good" branch or not. Feels like it's the first time I've watched a Jollibee review that actually dropped the real bombs.
And I'm not saying the food is bad, I'm saying the quality is fit for the market that they're aiming for. And that's totally understandable. :))
IM FROM CEBU YAYYY AND UR NEAR PLAZA INDEPENDENCIA RIGHT?!! THE SINULOG FESTIVAL WAS JUST LAST WEEK AGO
As a Filipino, I only like the Chickenjoy, and the peach mango pie 😅 Not a fan of the other stuff and the chicken sandwich def needs some spice
Also, Jimmy, try the F. Cabahug branch if you’re still in Cebu because that branch is not under a franchisee. The F. Cabahug branch is near a building called Sykes.
They actually have the spicy version but it is not available in ph. I've eaten it in singapore and it taste awesome. Probably x3 better than the original one.
The few branches in Illinois is also No Bueno. Spot on review. Mango pie only reason to go.
I’ve always had a good experience with Jolibee in the states! Even keeping the chicken joy in the fridge for the week and air frying was delicious!!! ❤ Hope you find a better Jolibee chain! 😊
ngl, International Jollibee branches are better than local branches because they aim to impress foreign customers while local is just don't care and just rely on mass support of the franchise since people keep coming back because it's Jollibee.
The quality of food and servings of Jollibee these days is deteriorating. It's honestly so bad. The prices are increasing but the quality is bad. It's not the same as before. However, I heard that the quality of food in the overseas branches is better.
Thank you for your honesty! But I have to agree, the quality might have changed over the years and also sometimes the quality depends on each store too. Still a good review!
I think it's because of the branch you were at, my friend who knows the taste of Singapore's Jollibee went to Philippines to try the original Jollibee and told me their spaghetti were better than Singapore's but the chicken was same as Singapore's
Now I know that you give HONEST reviews- after watching this and the buffet episode! Couldn't agree more
I live in Nor Cal. We have two Jollibee's in the area. Have tried it over the years 6 times. I am always left asking why its popular. I guess our locations just suck. Im always confused when people say good things about Jollibee.
the jollibee in my local area always serves freshly cooked chicken and rice. it probably differs in other branches.
Love your vids
Honesty is the best. I only tried Jollibee once and never came back because I just preferred other fast food chains. I only had their fried chicken and spaghetti. The sweet spaghetti was too sweet in my opinion and tasted cheap, I like the sweet spaghetti that I make at home much more, and the fried chicken I prefer Popeye's so I just never had a reason to rly visit Jollibee again.
Jimmy is my food news
Moral lesson, learn the history.
His honest opinion is valid and i appreciate him for that. His right foreign vloggers use it for clout, sub, views and likes only. I understand, it maybe difficult for the foreigner to appreciate the food and what Jollibee is all about to the filipino history. Its more than that.
For us Filipinos, Jollibee is FAMILY. It brings nostalgia every time we see one, remembering our childhood days, when our parents or grand parents would bring us to jollibee to eat food. We were always excited every time we hear that we will eat at jollibee, it is the happiest time in our life as a kid eating our favorite burger, french fries and spagetti, more so with our parents to see us happy is priceless for them. It become a tradition that even the poorest filipino parents dream is to bring their kids to the nearest Jollibee store. They will try to save money just so they could bring their kids and experience what jollibee magic is all about. Mind you the parents would sacrifice and will not order any food for them, only for the kids to watch them eat. This is what jollibee to us. JOLLIBEE is FAMILY!.
Jollibee is the first restaurant a one year old filipino kid can uttered as "JOBEE" or short for Jollibee. That's why i say is more than that, Jollibee is Home as well.
Jollibee is home a way from home, especially to those working abroad. It bring comfort to us, joy and pride. One thing Jollibee food is made to filipino KIDS and not so much to adult likeness, that's why our spagetti is sweater compared to western side.
But i understand, that in this world only change is inevitable, in the fast changing world so as our food should adopt for the better.
Just my two cents.
I tried Jollibee once in London. I really like it except the portion. The chicken is small but the crunchiness is out of this world. Best crunch compared to KFC crispy one. My wife tried in NYC and tasted amazing as well. She said she prefers the London one. So, I don't know. I think a busy fast food place is a good one so you get fresh food all the time.
Appreciate the honest review. Yup, sometimes it's a hit or miss. Though, Jollibee is tuned to public's taste buds. Probably, the ones in the US will be more favorable
As a Filipino yeah it`s a hit and miss, it depends on the branch nowadays~ that`s why I don`t eat much on fast food anymore (any fast food) I instead I explore on food where I haven`t eaten yet or buy food in grocery and cook it from scratch or some ready to cook food.. well atleast If it hits ~ yey! and if miss~ better look/cook for good food next time 😆 and this what I like on your videos btw no sugar coating~ straight from the fact when I love it .. I love it! and when I hate it ... I damn hate it~ 😂
Like most fast-food joints, it all depends on the actual location, time of day and how well the food is prepared (aka not overcooked into oblivion etc.). Jollibee I've found is usually pretty good at these things, usually. Like with Popeye's or KFC, the chicken can come out overcooked or just dry. But the spicy chicken, I don't think I've ever had a bad piece from them oddly enough. The spaghetti is fine, and I don't hate the "sweet" style sauce they use. Normally it's the noodles that are just a bit overcooked which usually ruins spaghetti for me. I've also had their Philippine specific dishes (at least the ones offered here in the US stores, I assume more are available in the actual home country) and they are pretty good overall. I do think though, that Jollibee has gotten worse over time (basically like KFC, Burger King etc.) and they were much better even just a few years ago. Regardless though, I'd still get their spicy fried chicken, and chicken sandwich. They are pretty darn good.
I'm sad to say but I can agree on this. Jollibee's quality has deteriorated over the years. The ChickenJoy is not the same as when I was in my teens. They have also significantly increased their prices without maintaining their quality. It makes me sad but I rarely eat Jollibee anymore.
But, JImmy! If you're still in Cebu, I'd love to accompany yoouu!!! T_T
I have only been to Jollibee once in Vancouver. I had the chicken sandwich band it blew me away. But it cost about 8 bucks as i recall.
As a Filipino, I would like to thank you for your honesty. I used to be a fan of Jollibee but, not anymore. The quality of food and the price is not worth it. You did a great review without being disrespectful unlike Benny Blanco did in his review. Not all people will like Jollibee because people have different pallet.
I first tried Jollibee in Singapore in 2022 and it was actually amazing. Weirdly enough when I tried it in Cebu, it's not that tasty in comparison (granted I ate in a branch where it seems secluded). The gravy and sauces were all wonderful tho. Wish they open a branch in Indonesia or Australia.
i love the honest jimmy 😆 some of us(also me) really dont like burger steak... and also from chicken sometimes cant help it but u compare it to mcdo, mcdo has more crispy skin and not really dry meat and has more flavor... i like the jollibee burger (the regular, cheese and chicken not has pineapple olollol) and some of their dessert lololll. I also notice the difference mcdo and jollibee since covid free and it really change my taste loloolol. ( yea i can diss jollibee hahaha)
YAYYY JIMMY'S NEW VIDDDDDDDDEOOOOOO LETS GOOOO!!!!!!
Here in 3 mins ? Thats a record haha.
Thanks for your honest opinion. I have been to Jollibees in NYC, Milan and Manilla. I love the Filipino people, but the quality of this restaurant chain has gone down in the past 5 years, even though they continue to open new locations around the world. Out of all the items on the menu, I think the Chicken Joy and the Peach mango Pie are good. When trying the spaghetti, I know this is not like Italian spaghetti but like the Spaghetti'Os I had in a can when growing up as a kid. Sweet and tangy sauce. This is fine as long as you understand this before ordering this item. Out of all the fast food chains I think the best Chicken sandwich is now at Chick-Fila and the best tasting fast food Hamburger is now Shack-Shack. Jimmy; thank you for your honest review and I agree with your opinions. Maybe with more honest opinions, this will make Jollibee improve some of their items on their menu.
Being Filipino, I'm in the minority when I say I don't like Jollibees at all. There's so many other restaurants out there I'd rather eat at.
Good job 👍 being honest is important. You don’t have to love all food to look nice. I went to jolibee in Dallas and it was good. I was actually impressed.
I wish they had a jollibee in netherlands!!! I want to try it too
first to watch the whole video (I WATCHED AT HIGH SPEED)
Whenever I wanna start a diet jimmy posts ❤😂
nice video
You should try my favorite items like yum burger, tuna pie, and garlic pepper beef when you come back again in Jollibee
I appreciate your honesty. So many food channels, which i will not name, are like, "omgoodness! It's like God himself delivered it to my plate! It's coated in Angel tears and unicorn happiness!"
Jimmy you should review pizza shops in Seoul, sounds like a fun video idea to me
been a Jolibee baby, but when I grew up, I knew that Jabee wasn't that good. small servings, even the chicken sometimes is small, and even the spag has less sauce; the fries aren't that good at all. And tbh, the peach mango pie with sundae is the only best combo for me to buy in Jolibee. Also, that yum burger whenever you'll be traveling inside a bus is a must. lol.
I was disgusted with the spaghetti at first but where else can you get sweet spaghetti it grew on me and the mango pie is delicious.
Finally, an honest Jollibee food review.
Hi! I’m a filipino who live in the US. I feel the same way about Joliibee in the Philippines. But i feel that Jollibee in the US tastes so much better.
I recommend you try the Jollibee in the US.
Cap lol. I grew up in the U.S and jollibee in the ph is better. To be fair tho i lived on the main island on Luzon not in cebu
You should definitely try another Jollibee store. My experience in Manila was amazing.
I had Jollibee in Edinburgh and it was amazing, I don't think I had ever had chicken so good. Also the pie at the end of the meal is 😍😍😍 but admittedly Jollibee in Edinburgh was no where near as cheap.
It's probably because out of us locations are better, I had jollibee in California and it was amazing so maybe it's just over there lol
i tried jolliebee last month here in california and had the same reaction haha it was disappointing
