What about the guys in BW who are standing around, blocking the way for no reason. They even say so as well and that now they are there, and later they will not. Like, they needed to block you for going that way, but couldn't be arsed to come up with any excuse, no matter how poor.
to be fair to the psyducks, there is literally an episode in the show where both ash's team and team rocket get stopped by 3 psyducks, thing to remember about psyducks is the worse their headache the more powerful their psychic attacks are.

Pokémon XY had this part where there's supposedly a power outage and an area is locked off. the lights are still on and an npc can walk right past you as the npc blocking the path tells you that the area is locked off. makes for a really hilarious scene. EDIT: speaking of power outages in Pokémon, the Sunyshore roadblock in Diamond and Pearl might be the weirdest one ever. if you want to go to Sunyshore, someone tells you that there's a power outage. when you finally get there, the entire town turns out to be powered by solar panels. how does a town powered by solar panels get a power outage? okay, you could argue that Dialga messing with time or Palkia messing with space has some effect on the sun as well, but it's still stupid.
Because solar panels aren't nearly as power efficient as people think. One cloudy day and entire towns can be screwed over. Unless you live in perpetually sunny places like Florida, Arizona or California*, then you can't really rely on it for too long. Heck, we don't even have the tech yet for batteries to store any extra power for later use, such as power outages. *I doubt you're going to read this whole thing but...* This is why I plug Nuclear. Safety measures* have improved several fold in the last several decades and going off of how much power it puts out, is much MUCH "greener" than the supposedly "green energy" of solar, which puts out a LOT of pollution when panels are made or wind, which ends up killing avian wildlife and requiring massive amounts of land. One nuclear power plant can replace SEVERAL coal/natural gas power stations and if we research more into thorium reactors, ALL of the coal stations in the country(in the U.S.) would become obselete. Not to mention, your electric bill would practically drop to pennies on the dollar due to how much energy was being put out. Just look it up, not even all of the power stations on planet Earth put together could pull off what ONE thorium reactor could. Almost forgot to mention, but what makes them great is, that the waste from thorium reactors could be RECYCLED and heck, will put out power while being recycled, then it can be reused! Even the heavy water can be reused. But you know why it ISN'T being researched more? Both the Oil and Green Lobbies are really powerful rackets with a lot of power. Not to mention, if you think they're opposing forces, they're actually both the corrupted sides of the same coin, putting on a show. Nuclear should be the future, but there's no money for them in making energy more efficient. *Chernobyl was lax safety measures and poor maintenance. Fukushima was not just the fault line and earthquakes, but being hit by a tsunami didn't help them much.
Honorable Mention: The Sims franchise, where your sim will be blocked by literally anything from a rubber duck to a toaster and would rather starve to death than step over it.

Kingdom Hearts has 2 major examples. 1) Sora saying the door in the Beasts Ballroom was locked. YOUR WEAPON IS LITERALLY A GIANT KEY THAT CAN UNLOCK ANYTHING. 2) Birth By sleep: Terra claims he doesn't want to interrupt Cinderella's ball. There are 5 or 6 people there. Only the Prince and Cinderella are dancing. I don't think that counts as a ball. You can go in, Terra.

Also if that potion cured the Psyducks of their headaches, isn't that like ... revolutionary for Psyducks? Imagine having a constant headache your whole life and it suddenly going away. Imagine the energy and power you'd have. Those Psyducks are probably now ruling the Pokemon universe. Tremble in fear of them.
@@dweebicusmaximus So turns out there is disagreement between different Pokedex as to whether the headache is caused by using the powers (e.g. Ultra Sun), or whether the powers are caused by the headache (e.g. Fire Red). So these Psyduck are now either the most powerful in existence, freed from their limiting headache to use their powers at will, or pathetically weak and unable to defend themselves. Either way I'm horrified because this means every Trainer with a Psyduck is effectively torturing them by making them experience pain to use their powers and wow Pokemon is awful when you think about it.

This one doesn't block the player, but it does block another character: Mewtwo from Gen 1 is stuck in a cave because a guy is standing in front of the only entrance. A few things to note here: 1. Mewtwo is the most powerful Pokemon in existance and can easily take out one guy standing in his way 2. Mewtwo can teleport How in the world can he NOT escape?!

The Psyducks are stupider.... Snorlax is a huge sleeping Pokemon that is almost impossible to move without the Pokéflute. Psyduck are small, reasonably light and hell, you can actually step over a psyduck

They weren't blocking your way because they were thirsty, they were blocking your way because team rocket was making things difficult in saffron, and, i dunno, paying them to keep people out? Well, this list was more about stupid reasons you can't go places that didn't try to hide the fact that they were such. Mido is blocking you because you need a sword and shield if you want to get to and help out the Deku Tree, which is a perfectly good reason to block the way. (He's still a jerk though) What isn't a good excuse though, is why in Twilight Princess, there is a line of people in Castle town that appear to be buying nothing from a vendor because it isn't moving at all. And, oh yeah, they're all ghosts. (Which, by the way, only appear to be real people in Wolf Sense Mode™ but are actually just tiny balls of light that float at about chest height. [which, especially in Wolf form are well above your head]) So, why can't I get past them?!
@@rayvenshade1823 Mido blocks your path as Adult Link too, which aggravated me. Uh, hello, I am at least twice your size and can punt you through the Lost Woods, so move. In Twilight Princess though, I like to think that, just because you can't see the actual ghosts without the Wolf Sense, they're still full ghosts. And not even really ghosts since they aren't actually dead, which would explain why you can't get past them. Those are my two favorite Zelda games!
What about the Fallout series? With a booby pin and a high enough skill you can pick any lock, unless a door "Requires Key". Apparently all the other locks in the wasteland were actually designed for bobby pins.
The fog gates don't block your path unless in boss fight. The other half of the fog gates use is to actually walk though them, so they don't block your path.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the moment in "Max Payne" where the door is locked but the entire wall is taken down beside it and you still can't get through. All stupid obstacles are infuriating.
Came to say the same thing. I think it's not a Psychic type because it has no control over its powers. Possibly. Gen 1 was just weird. I'd also add Sun & Moon to the list, and point out the guy sniffing around Heahea City with his Stoutland, who won't let you pass because he's trying to find all the hidden items on the path. Like what the heck dude, I just want to explore the city!

Video idea: 7 Ridiculous Initiations in Games. Basically requirements to join a group which clearly no one else does. Skyrim comes to mind as to join the Imperials you have to clear a whole fort of bandits. Doubt most imperials can do that. Also Borderlands 2, to join the Slabs you have to kill hundreds of Slabs for the initiation. If every Slab had to do that then there would only be 1 at any time, which means you would not need to kill hundreds.
Interesting that Oblivion doesn't have those. Mages and Fighters take you right away, Dark Brotherhood offers a not-so-problematic kill, and Thieves literally send two other thieves to do the same thing as you.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, if a bunch of ducks in pain were blocking our path we would leave them to it. Either because (a) they’re adorable and if that’s where they choose to suffer so be it and (b) and angered duck is as bad as an angered goose (and that is not a force of nature to mess with)

Locked doors are kinda stupid if you think about it. Most of the times in games you're either a insanly strong superhuman or a character with a powerful weapon capable of killing some of the most powerful evil beasts imaginable. JUST SMASH THAT THING DOWN.
Grown adult possesses a hammer capable of crushing rocks, bombs, magic arrows, the sword of time/light, and gauntlets that allow them to toss rocks the size of towers... but is halted by a door with a chain and lock on it.
1: Whenever I see Xenogears on these lists, I keep myself from giving out a squeal of utter glee. It's not a pretty sight, me squealing gleefully. 2: Bart would never have kicked Chu-Chu anyway because he knows full well that Margie would kick his ass. See, only he (and anyone who has seen the artwork in perfect works) knows she's hiding an entire freaking arsenal in her clothing. 3: Chu-Chu is highly disliked by many people, but she's incredibly helpful in a pinch.
One stupid thing that got in my way? Prerequisites like "bachelor's degree" and "bring a scientific calculator", i may have felt like i had no idea what I was looking at the whole time, but somehow i did well enough to place in the top 30 and now this lady is gonna be a prosthetics technician in 2 years 😁

My pokemon is the size of a house and this other one I have can literally move mountains according to the pokedex. Surely one of the two of them can easily get rid of this obstacle." Game: "Well, you didn't replace one of their moves with Strength, so you are clearly insane for thinking they could solve this problem."

In Astral Chain it just shoves a few bin bags in your way. You're already picking up all the empty cans around town and recycling them but you can move a couple of bin bags out if the way!
A drawbridge stopping Kratos isn't the weird part. A drawbridge being designed so someone needs to hold a lever to keep it closed is just mind blowing.

Worst case scenario is you personally never pay for a paywall again and they continue being part of the system. Best case is by cost of DLC development and lack of sales, they become unprofitable and lead to companies not putting paywalls in their games anymore. The last paid DLC I got was for COD4 and it sucked, as were previous paid DLC for other games. Never did it again and I have 0 regrets. If you want the "real" ending of any game, just watch it on UA-cam. It's not like they vary THAT much from decision-making.

Black and White prevented you from moving onwards with a single traffic cone.
In Pokemon Sun and Moon, your path was blocked by two Sudowoodos, and in order to get passed them; you needed to have a water Z move.

Pokémon XY had this part where there's supposedly a power outage and an area is locked off. the lights are still on and an npc can walk right past you as the npc blocking the path tells you that the area is locked off. makes for a really hilarious scene.
EDIT: speaking of power outages in Pokémon, the Sunyshore roadblock in Diamond and Pearl might be the weirdest one ever. if you want to go to Sunyshore, someone tells you that there's a power outage. when you finally get there, the entire town turns out to be powered by solar panels. how does a town powered by solar panels get a power outage? okay, you could argue that Dialga messing with time or Palkia messing with space has some effect on the sun as well, but it's still stupid.
Actually running purely on solar power is prone to outages due to cloud cover.

Because solar panels aren't nearly as power efficient as people think. One cloudy day and entire towns can be screwed over. Unless you live in perpetually sunny places like Florida, Arizona or California*, then you can't really rely on it for too long. Heck, we don't even have the tech yet for batteries to store any extra power for later use, such as power outages.

This is why I plug Nuclear. Safety measures* have improved several fold in the last several decades and going off of how much power it puts out, is much MUCH "greener" than the supposedly "green energy" of solar, which puts out a LOT of pollution when panels are made or wind, which ends up killing avian wildlife and requiring massive amounts of land. One nuclear power plant can replace SEVERAL coal/natural gas power stations and if we research more into thorium reactors, ALL of the coal stations in the country(in the U.S.) would become obselete. Not to mention, your electric bill would practically drop to pennies on the dollar due to how much energy was being put out. Just look it up, not even all of the power stations on planet Earth put together could pull off what ONE thorium reactor could. Almost forgot to mention, but what makes them great is, that the waste from thorium reactors could be RECYCLED and heck, will put out power while being recycled, then it can be reused! Even the heavy water can be reused.
But you know why it ISN'T being researched more? Both the Oil and Green Lobbies are really powerful rackets with a lot of power. Not to mention, if you think they're opposing forces, they're actually both the corrupted sides of the same coin, putting on a show. Nuclear should be the future, but there's no money for them in making energy more efficient.
*Chernobyl was lax safety measures and poor maintenance. Fukushima was not just the fault line and earthquakes, but being hit by a tsunami didn't help them much.
Honorable Mention: The Sims franchise, where your sim will be blocked by literally anything from a rubber duck to a toaster and would rather starve to death than step over it.
The problem is that those things weren't placed there by the developers (they were dropped by Sims) and they weren't meant to stop exploration...

So these Psyduck are now either the most powerful in existence, freed from their limiting headache to use their powers at will, or pathetically weak and unable to defend themselves.
Either way I'm horrified because this means every Trainer with a Psyduck is effectively torturing them by making them experience pain to use their powers and wow Pokemon is awful when you think about it.

The Psyducks are stupider.... Snorlax is a huge sleeping Pokemon that is almost impossible to move without the Pokéflute. Psyduck are small, reasonably light and hell, you can actually step over a psyduck

What isn't a good excuse though, is why in Twilight Princess, there is a line of people in Castle town that appear to be buying nothing from a vendor because it isn't moving at all. And, oh yeah, they're all ghosts. (Which, by the way, only appear to be real people in Wolf Sense Mode™ but are actually just tiny balls of light that float at about chest height. [which, especially in Wolf form are well above your head]) So, why can't I get past them?!

In Twilight Princess though, I like to think that, just because you can't see the actual ghosts without the Wolf Sense, they're still full ghosts. And not even really ghosts since they aren't actually dead, which would explain why you can't get past them.

The fog gates don't block your path unless in boss fight. The other half of the fog gates use is to actually walk though them, so they don't block your path.

Basically requirements to join a group which clearly no one else does.
Skyrim comes to mind as to join the Imperials you have to clear a whole fort of bandits. Doubt most imperials can do that.
Also Borderlands 2, to join the Slabs you have to kill hundreds of Slabs for the initiation. If every Slab had to do that then there would only be 1 at any time, which means you would not need to kill hundreds.
Fallout 3 Far Harbor is part of it as well.
Interesting that Oblivion doesn't have those. Mages and Fighters take you right away, Dark Brotherhood offers a not-so-problematic kill, and Thieves literally send two other thieves to do the same thing as you.

In Astral Chain it just shoves a few bin bags in your way. You're already picking up all the empty cans around town and recycling them but you can move a couple of bin bags out if the way!

@@keyblademasterkatsu7839 Okay, but you realize by doing that you're fueling the system that's screwing you and millions of others over, right? If you want paywalls to stop, quit paying for them. Worst case scenario is you personally never pay for a paywall again and they continue being part of the system. Best case is by cost of DLC development and lack of sales, they become unprofitable and lead to companies not putting paywalls in their games anymore. The last paid DLC I got was for COD4 and it sucked, as were previous paid DLC for other games. Never did it again and I have 0 regrets.
If you want the "real" ending of any game, just watch it on UA-cam. It's not like they vary THAT much from decision-making.

Except his prices were so low compared to the number of gems around, that he wasn't really an obstacle. An annoyance, yes, but I can't remember any time I wanted to pass and couldn't because of him.

Every game were you can blow tanks, people, veichles up without any problems but a wooden door, nope, too hard for my RPG, and my C4, and grenades, and dynamite.
