Additional tip - You can also take a National Express coach from Victoria bus station to Bath, which is a cheaper option. Takes about 2.25 hours to reach, and costs anywhere between 12 - 18 pounds. The first bus from Victoria is at 7 am and the last from Bath is at 8.15 pm.
@@SuitcaseMonkey I was trying for the train but it was expensive, about 90 pounds for a return journey. Could be because I was pretty close to my trip when booking. Anyway if you leave by 7 am, you'll be there by 10.30. The last return bus is at 8.10, which gives you more than enough time to see Bath. Unless you plan to party there, in which case you should book a place.
It's a nice place.....I guess, but having lived in this shit hole for over 12 years, I can say for a fact that it would fold overnight if it wasn't for the tourists and students and as a result it is a rip off on a multitude of things like food and clothing which you can get cheaper elsewhere. Not to mention the one way system in the center of town can be, and usually is, a motorists nightmare, especially if you don't know where you're going.

I was there 4 years ago, it's absolutely gorgeous!. Bath Abbey was amazing, also the roof spa (in this video) was amazing!... and I did take pics and video hehe... was so beautiful, all of it, can't wait to go again! I'm from Oregon, beautiful state here, but nothing here compares to the history and sites I've seen in the UK. I've been twice and can't wait to go back!

I don't think I've ever tried one, and I also live in Bath. I guess it's like if you live in Blackpool, you wouldn't go see the Blackpool towers and so on.
He is clearly being paid by Thermae Bath Spa, this place is terrible, I really don't recommend. Just read some of the negative reviews on tripadvisor and you'll see exactly what I mean. The Roman Baths 100% yes, the modern spa 100% no!

If you do Not want to regurgitate the full contents of your stomachs after eating a delicious meal, I strongly suggest that you visit the men's loos of any establishment, before you eat, or drink anything in it first, especially the pubs, as Bath has some of the smelliest men's loos on the planet. It's like breathing in, raw, untreated sewege. I have travelled far and wide, to more than a few parts of the globe. I can not, however, comment on the women's toilets. I won't name any of these places for legal reasons. It's been like this for years, and years in spite of my complaints to owners who think more about their profits than they do their customers.

1:47 any American visiting Bath MUST visit Ann Summers. It's a famous British shop offering exotic UK made clothing. Theres a section at the back offering ornaments and toys. Possibly more tailored to adults than families but a must-do nonetheless!

@@isaid5098 Southgate is £12.00 a day buy is right in the middle of you could go to odd down park and ride which is free parking and you can buy a ticket to the city centre which is cheap and it takes you on a one stop journey to the city centre
Great video some brilliant tips. I’m visiting Bath soon and wondered why no one swims in the Roman baths. Basically the water was found to be polluted. It’s even dangerous to touch so I was shocked to see a lady dipping her hand in on your video. I’m looking forward the thermae baths!
The worst experience ever! I followed recommendations of this blogger and picked travellodge hotel for my trip. This hotel doesn’t follow basic sanitary standards. Unclean, dusted and mold rooms . It’s looks like commercial advertising and not a friendly recommendation. I Not recommended to stay in this hotel, if you want to enjoy your weekend as mine was spoiled with all this situation.😢😮😢 btw they don’t provide you any refund.🙁
Hi. We stayed there 4 years ago so it could’ve got worse since we were there. We paid for this hotel ourselves and receive no commission for it. It was fine for us. Sorry that wasn’t your experience but good to see an update

English train prices are stupidly complex price wise. They can be cheaper if you book far in advance (upto 12 weeks). But at the moment there’s always the chance of strikes which can be called 2-3 weeks ahead. So I’d wait until around that time and then book. You can also check prices for today and see what the price difference is as it may not be much.

That depends on if your time is sufficiently cheap... (178 minutes on train or 408 minutes on coach total travel time)

Hi there. Things are changing very rapidly so any answer I give now will be irrelevant in a week, for your specific question. Wish you all the best for the course. At the moment things are not looking good in the uk overall. I see no reason why things will change until there is a vaccine.
