- Bath is beautiful. It's a city surrounded by Georgian architecture and the greenery of Alexandra Park. The Roman baths reminded me of Rome which made me feel at home. But I wanted to dig deeper and ask Manuele a few questions about the living situation in Bath. My questions regarding Bath's cost of living, job opportunities and life satisfaction should help us understand if this is the city where we would like to live.

My name is Anica and I was born and raised in Italy, Rome in 1998. I'm originally from Bangladesh and I've been living in the UK for 6 years, so you could say I'm multinational. I'm studying Adult Nursing at the University of Nottingham, but I'm probably going to be like those people who study something but end up doing something completely different as a career.

Another great video. I studied in London for 1 year and never visited Bath. I wish to visit this place someday.
Sorry to see some unwarranted comments. I don’t think some British people realize that most of their nice towns are going downhill, very quickly, and Bath might be the best alternative for certain people, with some income. It’s an excellent video, and so glad to see this man interviewed to give his honest feedback.

My dad used to be able to afford rent on a flat close to the crescent by busking in the late 80s, nowadays you can't afford rent in that area unless you're an exec

Can't believe he thinks Bath is rude - his experience is totally different to ours. We've been here just over a year, and found it incredibly friendly - especially if you pick the right pubs.
But he lived for more than 30 years in Bath. He also witnessed the changes over the years and lived in Italy as well. Italy is filled with friendly and lively people, you’ll notice the difference if you also lived in Italy
You must keep in mind that the UK is probably one of the most xenophobic countries in Western Europe, many foreigners, regardless of their ethnic background or skin colour, experience what he had to and worse.
I’ve met rude and nasty people in Italy too, as well as very nice ones. And in Germany , Spain , USA… etc .
If I branded a whole country on these , I would rightly be branded as racist

@@aminuzaya9945 pretty expensive. I lived in London before so nothing can be more expensive, but it's pretty close. Don't expect to find a one bedroom flat below 800/900 pounds per month.

Are there places in Bath where you can take a bath?
The English are known for being cold and aloof. But it´s changing and also people in the north are more friendly. Younger people and those who have grown up with the interne tare more open-minded and that´s true in most countries.
Our Sicilian+Italian fortunes were lifted by some in high positions but they themselves are rogues in fame land.

Not at all. You take the bus and it takes 40 minutes

Beautiful video, the man’s story is so touching. Congratulations on the filming quality. Regarding Bath, it looks to me just like any other British city… gray, old, boring.
It’s true, the majority of cities in the UK are exactly like you described: grey, old and boring. However, I found Bath to have its own style. I probably haven’t showed Bath properly. Also, Edinburgh and Brighton are good places in the UK.
Every building in Bath legally has to be constructed out of Bath Stone. Grey yes, Old yes, Boring most definitely but lovely to visit. I’ve lived here for 21 years and that’s why I find it boring but there is plenty to see and do for people visiting

I'm bath born and raised..I got pushed out of bath because I could no longer afford to live...This is why many of us voted Brexit...Though Brexit hasn't stopped the influx of migrants.
He's extremely rude about the UK for somehwere that has been his home for so long. Perhaps its his ignorance to say anywhere but Bath is not an attactive place to live; perhaps its because hes still an immigrant and doesnt really know the country.

Something tells me Manuele is exaggerating; how did he know the old man was 83? I was enjoying your video until it started playing the race card as is so common these days. I'm not saying he did not encounter racism, but he makes it sound like Bath was inhabited by awful people before 'multi-culturalism'.

In Canada there is no more ridiculous accent than a British accent , at least in my opinion , and if you mistake their accent for australian they will go ballistic . A more pretentious people than the british there could never be !
